What is the Best Workout Plan?

Hey friends! It occurred to me earlier today that a lot of people ask me this question and it may help if I made a video addressing it.
Here's a copy paste from the tl;dr section at the beginning:
The best workout schedule for you is the one you can do consistently long-term while still making progress. Beyond this, there are other factors such as your goals, lifestyle, and recovery ability.
For consistency, I recommend keeping a “core” part of your routine-a workout
that you can do in 10-15 minutes a few times a week. When you feel like doing more, you can supplement your workout with related exercises. Make sure your core allows room for growth as you get stronger.
You can do train an exercise once a week and still make progress. Perhaps even less, depending on the individual and the exercise. Experiment with volume to see what works best for you.
Legal Notice: Consult your doctor before beginning any kind of exercise program. This video does not replace a physical therapy program or consultation with a medical professional.

What kind of workout plan do you follow? Let me know! Also, do you like the TLDR section? Should I make it shorter? Read it out loud? Note: My Hybrid Creators project has actually started! If you don't know about it, it's my project to help aspiring entrepreneurs, content creators, and people who work from home. I've made the channel and uploaded the first video. I'm working on a website and better coordination before promoting it. Just letting the comment squad know! Here's the channel: kzread.info/dron/JmekyzYk2sb3t9R_r6RWZQ.html

The TLDR section really suprised me in a good way! It gives me an idea of what the content if the video is and if there is something new to me (Or if there is any information at all, some people talk around the topic for a few minutes straight... listening to you is quite fun though) Also is it bad if you want to workout more? I feel like 30 minutes isn't enough for me, especially since I have vacations rn.

@@adonosssi What is there to "fall for"? 99% of his content doesn't use any equipment, and the other 1% uses stuff you can easily get off-brand. He front-loads all the important info on his videos, respecting the viewers time and not fishing for longer viewing times. Of course a brother has to pay his bills, so him selling some clothes and generic, slightly overpriced equipment (which comes across as more of a donation than anything else) is nothing I frown upon. Take a look at what is going on everywhere else in the fitness market, with brands like TRX selling stuff at fivefold their actual value, or crossfit locking very similar stuff behind steep paywalls and exclusive trainer deals. You could literally be homeless and still be able to afford most of this guy's workouts, provided you have some form of internet access. Also keep in mind that even Bob Ross sold paints. Being sceptical is a good trait to have, as this world will prey on the naive. Being too sceptical, however, can keep you from enjoying great things :)

@@6996Gunslinger Well that's needlessly nihilistic. Some people see value in life and it's not your place to tell them otherwise. And why bring up suffering people? Are there important things after all? Or why do you care? If you really care, then don't forbid yourself and others from living and enjoying their lives. Instead, try to live up to your full potential (and encourage others to do the same) because only if you are in control of your own life, you might become capable of wielding the amount of responsibility and power necessary to actually help with larger social issues. It's easy to write whiney youtube comments but it takes hard work to develop the capacity to change things - and the best way to start is improving yourself.

Then I go for a walk in the evening or a bicycle ride. I have used this to help recover from cardiac issues and osteoarthritis. I just work at my own pace and I am very consistent. Loved the part about "we tend to want to optimize whatever it is we're into right now" - very true. Your message about always having "core" exercises you want to do on days you don't feel like working out really is key to consistency. I've used in in my strength training programs over the years- where at the very least I'd do something dead lifts or pull downs or bench press and I'd drop the tricep extensions and face pulls and smaller exercises. That's a great tip. You're really ahead of your age and putting out great content, keep it up and good for you. love the channel! It's clear other's can see this in you too.

Wow Hampton. Totally beyond wise. For those who might go, what it took a year for that goal of one arm pull ups?! Your response about wanting to be a good friend, husband, student, son, totally nailed it. Exercise is important. But exercise is one part of life and if you want to be a whole and present human..you need to balance exercise needs with all the things that make you and your life. Totally ace and really something not really said enough of in the mountains of fitness routines and packages out there that promise results based on daily work only. That mentality of daily does inevitably fall away because life gets in the way. You have thoughtfully and introspectively worked through that and realised that work life balance is good but life balance in general is also the stuff of happiness. :-) bravo!

This "core" idea is absolutely fantastic. When you're a beginner and just starting out, like i am (just been 7 months that I've really started even thinking about being healthy) workouts are super intimidating. As are programs and such. Sure they may be the best for getting results but for many of us, just doing something is a start. Thus, thinking that I'll need to do one or two things (like pushups or squats or a 20 second plank) feels far less intimidating, and once you start, often you can find yourself push on and surprise yourself and do more.

Hey Hampton, nice vid! Thanks for the content! I'm following your routine (Mon, Wed, Fri) for about a month and I'm seeing a nice progress! I've been following your begginer routine and the 3 follow along videos. They cover essentially the 5 exercises you recommend at the difficulty 1, according to the routine at your site. Any plans doing new routine videos for the others tiers? Even tho I can somewhat follow them I miss some tips, like arm and hands position for them. Those tips really help the people who doesn't have workout culture! Thank you my friend!

This is just what I needed, validation 😋. I was walking almost every day. Then I jumped over to calisthenics and did it every other day but felt a lack of motivation (because of muscle soreness). Now I'm back to walking every day but put calisthenics as part of shortened walks every other day. I enjoy it more with less soreness!! Just try different things until you find your best plan!

I really, really love how you give advice around integrating progressive exercise into our life as a whole. I have integrated cycling 100 km a week and running at least 5 km twice a week into my life. It's become like brushing my teeth, nothing special really, just daily upkeep. But now, halfway through my forties I want to add training for strength. I have tried different things, but nothing has stuck yet. I did yoga for a long while, which really improved my strength, flexibility and posture, but it never got integrated comfortably into my daily life. Now, I'm trying calisthenics... we'll see how that goes. I really just need to find something that can become a good routine 🙂
