After watching this video, I am seriously questioning Tommy's assessment of equipment. Back in the "Best Sticks of 2022", the Bauer Sync was the second stick he got rid of right after the Agent. He said it felt weird. He also said that even though the Sherwood Code is a square stick and he normally doesn't like square sticks, he liked the feel of the Sherwood Code. Now in this video, the Sync is suddenly the second best mid kick stick over the Sherwood Code because the Sherwood Code felt weird. This is as confusing as his CCM skate review. He clearly stated in that review that he liked the Ribcor skates the best, then the FT4 Pro, then the AS3-Pro. He kept complaining that the AS3-Pro was too clunky and stiff. Then he did a more recent video where he got Custom Tacks and talked about how he loved the stiffness of the skates. Which one is it? I don't mind if people have different preferences than me, but this is down right confusing. If he changed his mind, then they need to address that. Otherwise, it just looks like he is contradicting himself from one video to another which would make these ranking videos rather pointless.

Previous videos (like top 10 sticks) was based on Tommys personal preference and style of play. In this video Tommy says “Best all round stick” Meaning, best in its class at everything the stick is advertised to do. Hope that clears it ups.

You also need to keep in mind that his criticisms of the Sync were on a small sample size, and later down the line he’s probably gotten a lot more time using it.

I'm already used to Tommy being quite inconsistent. When they compared the best skates of whatever year it was, there were no True skates there because True didn't send any. And HT were like - meh, they are more amateur skates anyway, we're talking pro top of the line comparison here. Now this year it looks like they have married True, true here true there and Tommy is probably sleeping with those cat9. So it seems like whoever gives you more promo stuff ends up being better.

Preferences change as he tests more sticks, thats how it is. You might test a bauer agent and call it the best stick, but you haven't tried the hyperlite 2 yet, and think thats the best one, but then you were using the trigger 7 before and got used to it and thought its better than the agent so there ya go. Hes just giving HIS opinion. What works for him might not work for you. Everyone is different. You see players in the NHL use diff sticks all the time, even old sticks. McDavid was rocking a 8 year old stick last year which he recently changed, yet he still rocks 8 year old skates.

Can’t miss any of your vids, can you do a video ranking protective including shin pads, pants, chest and elbow pads.

I have a True Catalyst 9x and I love it. Compared to my other mid kicks which are the Warrior Alpha lx20 and a CCM Jetspeed FT5 it had superior accuracy and handling as well as better passing. (I use the P92 on my sticks though CCM sticks I use the P90)

Your top 10 sticks of 2022 had Sync at #9…now it is better than Code, ASV and FT5? For credibility you should better explain why the change in a month

I agree its a little hard to keep track. He loved the ft4 and said the code was just as good or better, now its half way down the list... does he go through moods changing sticks so often he confuses himself? Hopefully its that and not subconcious i got ccm skates so their sticks good, now i have true skates so...

I absolutely adore my Catalyst PX, but the one thing I’ve noticed is that the blade seems flimsy on harder passes/redirects. May be an issue of flex point, but other than that it is easily my favorite stick of all time

Wait didn’t Tommy take the FT5 pro over the sync when you VS’d those two?🫠

I started with hockey again after 23 years a few month ago and went to Bauer and warrior low-mid kick sticks like the Alpha lx series. Was quite fine with it, until I got my hands on an Warrior Novium with a P28 curve. It's a really nice, stiff and snapy clapy stick

I've used a lot of sticks and get a lot of feedback from customers and True is really hard to keep on the shelf... the restock comes in and they sell fast. I do see the 9x as much more popular than the PX for feel and performance. Also you guys need to add the P90TM or TC6 curve to a shirt.. you almost got me to buy one.

You guys should make a best beginner equipment series. Basically what equipment would you recommend for people new to hockey. I wanna see what you get for an $80 stick.

Alpha lx pro is even better. I liked the DX (it was solid) however, the LX pro is really great. The only thing about it that I don’t like is the grip (or lack thereof).

One of my teammates has the exact same specs as me 50 flex p28 and he has the “best” stick on the list but I try end it and my syinc was batter

Slap shots are a lot less part of the game than you think. Wrist shots and snap shots are by far the choice of goal scorers. The old “rafter tickler” is going the way of the dinosaur.

But I only use p92 and p88? LOL Of course I also don't play particularly close to the net. I bought a rekker based on the low kick video, it's interesting vs the code TMP (which I also really like).

Ive got a code tmp pro, how dkbyoublike the low kick on the rekker in comparison? A guy on my team just gkt one but its the wrong hand for me to try on ice (so much differenr than the shooting galleries at stores)

For his style of play. This video was about ranking mid and hybrid kick sticks in their own class. Which stick can do it all. Not based on his playing style, as he rarely takes slap shots in games. Slightly different format in this video.

I disagree with including the Tacks in this group. While CCM is calling it a "mid" kick, it was in the same category as the Supreme and now the Novium. Wishing Warrior had sent the Alpha to make it an all-around fair comparison.

Isn’t the as5 a high kick point?

Where does Tommy rate as far as elite hockey players? ie- A,AA,AAA,JRA,DIV 1, etc.

@@HockeyTutorialOfficial hopefully you averaged the shot velocity and not just clocked one shot per stick. 5 Shots with each stick would be way more useful as 1 shot could be based on a number of factors.
