Edit: Oops I forgot to edit the thumbnails on the intro screen. Oh well, who cares. Sorry this video is 2-3 days too late, im just far too late with the upload. But this video needed more research time as I was able to add almost 4 minutes of extra lore with the research I did between sunday and today, so it was worth a delay imo. I considered saving the video for coming weekend, but its my channel so nobody is stopping me from uploading something on a Tuesday. Enjoy!

Remember kids, if you bunk up with a Argonian for the night, be sure not only to be clear about what you want and what kind of protection you need, but also be sure to ask how recently they last waxed their scales, because NOBODY is worth the burning you’ll feel the next day from an Argonian Brazilian

As the Nords are based on old Scandinavian culture, I wouldn't doubt that, despite all the descriptions of them liking more "natural" appearances and less grooming and trimming of one's own body hair, they like seeing clean skin and hair at least. This is because the Scandinavian cultures REALLY liked taking baths and making sure they have rather clean bodies. Basically, they'd value what their body "produces", but want to keep the "product" clean and somewhat nice looking.

Just because a fantasy culture draws aspects from certain real-life cultures doesn't mean they have to consistently maintain that. The whole point of fantasy world building is picking and choosing bits of different cultures and mashing them together with your own ideas. I'd argue that it's better to invert some aspects of whatever culture you're using as a referencen for originality's sake.

@@user-un5xj1wl6p As the more dirty faced people are in more rural areas of the game or have the personality (as limited as it is in Skyrim) of someone that wouldn't care to be clean, it'd mostly fit why higher society individuals would be more well kept over those in the miner towns. The lack of bathrooms is probably because it's not really thought of something they felt were actually required for worldbuilding. After all, the towns and cities are heavily downscaled in comparison to what they actually are in lore. Hell, think there's only like... three, maybe four places in all of Skyrim that are even implied to be used as toilets.

@@16floz Oh, naturally. That's the main draw of fiction, it being able to pick and choose what you want. Kinda why the Redguards have this Japanese vibe to them in context to honor code, despite everything else not being even close to Japanese. Yes, I know the Akaviri are closer to Japanese in theme, but have twists to them as well.

@@Practitioner_of_Diogenes Idk, but it's certainly not as civilised as oblivion's implied potty holes in some of the imperial city homes with entrances to the sewers from basements... but yes I can see that, but even in big cities a lot of people are less clean... but then again if I'd analyse it to such detail I could draw a conclusion that they're poor or lasy. But the true high class is somewhat well kept yeah.

I mean CBBE adjusts body models, so it lore friendly. It doesnt change anything about the perception of the bodies by characters and how attracted they might be. I know it was a joke comment but they don’t call me the fun police for nothing.

It's a fun quirk of speaking about imaginary worlds that the less information one has, the more generalized the names we can put details to become. On Tamriel is just fine for the level of experiences we have in the Elder Scrolls series. Since there's so little that can even be considered in the way of experiences anywhere outside of Tamriel, all of Mundus might as well just be Tamriel for Tamriel is all we know of their planet. Until we get a little more than two vaguely-maybe-talking-about-another-continent lines in-game, and a mention here or there in a book, we're going to use Tamriel/Nirn/Mundus/Mortal Plane interchangeably.
