i own my own s-corp. For any one month, if i pay myself $5,000 salary and $5,000 distribution, is that $10,000 total payroll? or does only the salary part count towards payroll?

Hey there, Tj. Only the $5,000.00 would count as that goes towards payroll, distribution wouldn't. Distributions come from possible dividends so are counted separately.

Withholdings are taken out of an employee’s net pay to cater for their taxes and pensions and Deductions are taken out for specific reasons like healthcare, pension and may differ according to what employees desire.

I strongly dislike QuickBooks; after switching from the self-employed version to the regular one, I encountered numerous fees and found their customer service lacking compassion and understanding. This opinion is based on my extensive experience with them over the years. I want to caution others that QuickBooks may not prioritize their customers' interests.
