His integrity in the process of thinking is supported by his mastery of mindfulness. His act of being is very compassionate while teaching without any artifice, he is really outside his body and he has said it, he is in his sangha, in his monks and nuns and in his lay practitioners. His ego is reduced to just the level necessary to be a loving human being to all. He understands that evil and vice comes from suffering. He has no insecurities. But he also said that in living a life of compassion you do not give to others the bad things, only the good things. So he is human and exercise restraint in what he presents to others. His mind power of controlling himself is the essential quality of Zen buddhism, the result of lifelong meditations.

Consciousness is the spacious awareness that transcend feelings of the past present and future, it is pure spacious awareness, the witnessing presence of your thoughts, emotions and actions. It is essentially the space in which the contents of your life pass through, the presence behind your thinking, the overseer and observer body mind. We are all pure consciousness not the content of our lives, not our ideas, thoughts, sense perception, emotion, suffering or joy we are the silent witness of all these thing the space between all such things which is the pure conscious awareness

Consciousness....deep subject. The mechanism of being aware needs a higher dimensional force that is not subjugated to the laws if physics. What is that? How does it interact with our body minds? Without the presence of these two energies nothing can be experienced!

To me counciusness is the greatest mystery that it even exists. The fact alone that i can say: "I am aware" is odd in all instances. From a logical standpoint, there should be "nothing" at all, no awarness, no beingness. Yet here i am. Thats simply something out of my grasp. You see, since i came to this world through my awarness of it, everything seems as it is the most normal thing, because one does not give this notion of beigness much attention. But by thinking about it clearly, im just in awe and wonder. There is simply no explanation for this.

All manifestation arises out of store consciousness. Store has 8 aspects, these are the 5 consciousness's , of eye, ear, nose, mouth, body, giving birth to seeing, hearing, smellling, tasting, contact/touching, 6th consciousness is ordinary mind, the 7th consciousness is manas/ego, 8th is Store consciousness which is the foundation and storehouse of all that has happened and that is to arise. Thay offers two books as , The first is " Understanding your Mind " the other book l recommend to read first, is called Buddha mind Buddha body.

This question is unanswerable to a person that is still conscious. The four truths of suffering. Ignorance, attachments, desire, wrong perceptions. Without these things you cannot be, so suffering is consciousness. Mindless consciousness is like death. Very deep question.

It's a bit of an oversimplification. There is a distinction between store consciousness and mind consciousness. Store consciousness does not have tension, it only associates and connects it is powerful but we have no direct control over it. Mind consciousness has tension, it is slow and inefficient. I disagree that suffering is consciousness. The opposite of suffering, pleasure exists in our conscious mind. And no, pleasure is not absence of suffering. There is a even biological molecules in the brain associated with pleasure. So it is not an absence of something.

Can I ask a question which has bothered me for a time. I feel like I am missing the point. I am a newcomer to Buddhist dharma practice and study at the same time. Consciousness as defined by the scientific community is determined as being produced by the brain. Buddhist practise from what I gather agrees with this, in the sense that there is no soul, no separation between the two. Is that right? I’m not looking to offend, merely put my mind at rest and continue living by Dharma.

what we as two-leggeds must do is understand that, for example, does a tree contemplate itself or does she simply grow towards the sun? Can a tree 'see' what is behind her? Point being, doesn't matter - a tree exists in a single spot where it is rooted forever as we must be - rooted forever in one spot growing towards our own sunshine. Trick is - to stop wanting to look what's behind us an worrying about the weather, two truths I still do too much off - I live in the past and fret over things I haven't done or should have done. The 'mind' creates ALL that fkn angst that continues to whittle us down day by day. Such is how it is to be human, whatever THAT really means. Peace to all who try.

It's confusing when he says that the mind and the body (and only the body?) inter-are, then goes on to say that the body is merely a formation of the mind like all other formations (ideas). The mind and the body may be aspects of being mindful when breathing, as the paper between the hands is the metaphorical breath, but ontological the mind is completely different than the ideas it processes. The mind is only the same when it makes itself a formation (such as when the mind thinks "My mind is racing today)." I sincerely believe that the monks and nuns should not impromptu answer questions on the spot, but meditate on them for a day and then deliver something more thought out, unequivocal and structured. I really really think you all should consider this.
