Yeah, just let him go. If it was such a problem, they should have done something about it right away. Since they didn't, then just move on. This is the problem I have with statute of limitations. Law enforcements/detectives wait till the last minute before doing anything. I knew a couple guys who are in prison for pedophilia, but they were picked up one month before the statute expired. I'm sorry, but I say let them go, because it wasn't such a huge problem when it was first reported, so why is it so important at the last minute? Other victims could have been piling up, and all law enforcement was doing was twiddling their thumbs. Laziness like that should not be acceptable. If you can't be on the ball when serious crimes like that are happening, then you are in the wrong line of work. And BTW, obviously the two guys I knew was rightfully arrested and locked up, and are where they belong. That isn't the point I am making, in case that messaging gets lost somehow.

Y'all are super naive. Falling for these criminals that claim they turned their life around. It is comedy gold. Did we not just see the guy on Rogan who got out, got a government job, and was working for the innocence project, but then murdered somebody? This guy was on parole, broke the law, and he knew what could happen. No remorse for him. Maybe he should not have broke the law while on parole, and this would not have happened. Rules are easy to follow. The bad part in this is he chose to break the law, and now he wants you to feel sorry for him. It is nobdy's fault but his.

Relying on a public defender is their biggest mistake. Five to ten grand on the right lawyer and this will all disappear. Trust me I know from personal experience. That may sound like a lot of money but what is 20 years of your life worth?

If he was that much of a threat then he should’ve stayed in jail.. welp, the prosecutor got one thing right. It’s a business for them!! For him it’s his life!! Let this man be a father to his children and live his life!!! Seems he’s more productive OUT of jail than in jail..

To plead to possession with intent to sell, how much was he really in possession of? Gun involved, too. A long record of crimes and prison time. Im glad that he seems to have turned his life around. Now the best thing to do to continue that turn around is to accept what he did and the punishment that comes along with it. Would we all be pleading for this guy if it was something other than a drug charge?

The state shouldn’t have longer than a 12mo statute of limitations on charging people or holding debts over the heads of citizens. I’m good for there to be longer statutes for the state to be made aware of a crime if there is a citizen victim that doesn’t immediately report it immediately, especially in cases of battery or violence…. But that’s it. Either charge them as soon as you become aware of the crime or let them be.

Though the boy that hurt my son has probably improved his life, I hope he is still convicted, even if its 4 years from now.
