One of the articles that I read recently that struck me the most about the anime industry was about the ass backwards culture that also dictated how it uses outside investment. If some outsider investor gave an animation studio a big windfall because say, they liked a series or something, rather than pushing that investment into those productions, they just greenlight random garbage just to preserve control and national pride. So if I was a billionaire that wanted to give Madhouse a billion dollars to make NGNL Season 2, they would just take my billion dollars and then not do it.

Personally, I saw no dip in animation quality from season 1 cour 1 to cour 2, I even like cour 2 much more. That's the case because I love the story, the worldbuilding and character depth in Mushoku Tensei first. For sure, the solid soundtrack and mindblowing animation helped, but the writing is what made MS a masterpiece and the reason I started reading the LN after the anime cour 2 ended. Furthermore, the new trailer still looks amazing, better not go berserk without reason, MS will still look better than 90% of modern anime. I don't believe this will be a One Punch Man Season 2, it's the same studio, they can't fuck this up so bad. I believe in Studio Bind that they will do a job at adapting Mushoku Tensei Season 2. We must remember White Fox created Studio Bind mainly to adapt MS. This is the reason this studio event exists.

@@carlovejano5741 I think the 2 cours of season 1 cover volume 1 to 6 of the LN. So, if you want to read ahead, you can start with volume 7. I suggest reading the LN, it is the original source of the story (the manga is an adaptation of the LN, so they can change stuff, cut content) and start with volume 1. The anime is as close to a perfect adaptation as it gets, but they skipped over some scenes, so if you want to get all the details it's better to do it that way. The LN is quite captivating, worth your time.

Directing is far more important than pure animation quality. OPM s2 could have been not as utterly horrendous if directing wasn't horrible. (even with actually decent sound design and not completely destroying Saitama as a character, it would have been significantly more tolerable+ a few other terrible decisions, non of which are an issue of time) Fortunately the director for MT s2 seems good. I think he did the 1st pre-animated PV, which was very nicely directed. What little can be seen from the new PV, looks quite good also. Many elements that show good directing. So I'm not really worried there. Animation in the PV wasn't as polished and detailed perhaps as it could have been, but it was still pretty good. We'll have to wait and see more, for animation. But rest looks great. Same art director is a big one.
The PV looked fine to me. The shots that some people got upset about were mid frames as far as I am concerned which will always look not as good as key frames. The only thing I expect from season 2 is they stick as close or closer to the source material as they did with season 1 and then the animation and art quality still be good. Maybe not as good as season one since that was the first big thing they did so it NEEDED to be good to get more investors and money coming in. People just dont have realistic expectations cause they have no life experience or knowledge on the industry.

The pre-production period before season one was quite lengthy so it wouldn't surprise me if scheduling conflicts such as the ones mentioned for season 2 were anticipated far in advance and most of the important fundamental design assets for the series as a whole have already been produced.

Wich always will be Mushokus strongest Point.
Honestly, I believe that staff changes are like double edged swords. Sometimes they lead to downgrades within an anime and sometimes they provide massive upgrades that exceeds everyone's expectations. As they say, "There is always a greater talent out there."
Transitions in staff are difficult to manage but they are eventual and demonstrating that a series can survive such transitions is also very important. Fortunately, the writing and lore is established so there should be some consistency maintained.
Its perfectly fine, not every single episode has to be a visual master piece. The Imperfections are what make something as memorable as the perfection of its best moments.
Anybody help me find the anime shown, I am looking for some new shows to watch and am intrigued by some of the sakuga clips in the video that I do not recognize. Two people in a raft taking on a giant wave at 1:35? At 2:57, the green haired girl kicking a bug monster which explodes? The tiny cat girl with the hammer at 3:15? The golems being shot at by pyromancers at 3:21? The punk grey skinned guys on sand boats with a big one wielding a hook at 3:52 to 3:56?

I just hope a show like ONIMAI isn’t the reason Mushoku Tensei is losing part of what made it so spectacularly special. Sending talent to shows like Chainsaw Man is great, but I just can’t shake the dreadful disappointment hearing that Mushoku Tensei might suffer because of a show about an otaku getting transformed into a loli. That just… will never sit right with me. EDIT: I didn’t even get to the part where the director shuffled over to an idol show. Salt in the wound! Jesus!
Dw guys. This upcoming season (at least the second cour) will have very little action so this is fine. The first cour is gonna be a bit worrying but we'll see how it goes. The pv looks great regardless and I'm very excited for it.
@Michaelonyoutub
Жыл бұрын
I was thinking this too, so there shouldn't be much of a problem since there is less crazy action sequences. That being said though, I recent reread the light novel volumes that cover the next season and there is honestly enough action, well paced out, that they could have one good action sequence per episode for most of the 1st cour of season 2, even though the latter half of the 1st cour is one of the most mild sections of the entire series.
it makes me sad whenever the continuation of a show can't keep up the first season's quality, but equally i'm happy that these amazing talents are giving smaller series the love and dedication they deserve. I can't complain that Bind's top staff moved to Onimai because i might have never fallen in love with that series if it wasn't for all the love and attention to detail put into every single part of its production, but i'm also sad at the possibility of season 2 not living up to the same standard. That being said, i'll still watch Moshoku Tensei S2, Onimai S2, Bocchi The Rock S2, etc. even if the quality of these adaptations doesn't live up to season 1 because i already love those shows. And who knows, maybe the staff who skipped out on working on the continuation of my favorite series end up pouring their hearts into something that i end up loving even more.
The fact that crunch still exists despite such a frankly, _overwhelming_ output of series for both the video game industry and anime, bothers the hell out of me. Dude, these studios should take their time, market their series later into production, players/watchers will be plenty stocked up on a backlog while we wait for something to be good, I hate that we get rushed development of stuff when it's not like we have nothing to do while we wait. An excess output of different anime at lower quality is not at all preferable to the alternative because it's not like people are gonna be able to watch all of it. I'm not worried about S2 though, hopefully this video and my opinion don't become dated.
bro was way wrong
Make a video on the new pv , love your videos man
They really pulled an UNO reverse card on us in season 2 after ending season 1 with Rudeus coming to terms and accepting himself in the new world
It’s gonna have to be 30+ episodes because it covers a lot of the ln in the trailers it shows up to turning point 3 and could in theory make it close to mid way to turning point 4. But it will make it to turning point 3 for sure because we see it in the trailer. And I imagine turning point 4 to be at the beginning of s3.

I hope they stop at LN12... Because LN13 sounds like a great place to start a new season, LN14/15 are a great story but it needs that build up to be in the same season.
Season 2 is pretty good, even though they did lose a lot of great people, but the one thing I'm not happy with personally is the addition of a full intro, as opposed to characters doing daily, mundane, everyday tasks with music in the background. That could've been done mostly because season 2 is a slow arc, but still. (Also the time skip was also a bit jarring this time, but i don't think that has anything to do with the director themself)
2:55 what show is this?
I know a bit about studios, but how do I get into knowing the people working on the animes
Regarding your last point, I’m pretty sure Mushoku actually has quite a good schedule. I mean it’s clear they’re not afraid to take more time if they need it (both cours of s1 were delayed a season), and s2 was announced in March of last year which presumably is after production had started. Any dip in quality is just purely because staff changes I think and even then the PV looks great. The only thing that stood out to me were the character designs which can easily still be corrected. Also Manabu Okamoto left because it was literally his dream job to direct idol masters so there you go that was the biggest reason most likely.
Fantastic video. Please do more Mushoku Tensei reviews or general videos during Season 2. 🙏
Where can I watch season 2? Service Platform?
I actually wonder if we're confusing change with drops in quality. Of course different people will have different visions for the same project, and I sometimes interrogate myself and the debates online if that feeling of lower quality doesn't come from any objective parameter of what good art should be, but a human reaction to latch on to what feels comfortable and safe versus something new and uncertain. Take the enw Trigun for example, the CG animation of that series is of higher quality than any other anime studio can produce but it still got the anime fans rallying because it wasn't the same as the original. Just maybe similar biases exist in production changes like this, but at a more subtle level that we couldn't immediately pick up on. And I agree with you that the PV wasn't even bad, the only thing that I could think of that people are mad about was that one shot where Rudy was a slight bit off model because of the perspective.
Could you list the animes used in the video I haven't seen most of them before o:

Will season 2 also get a part 2 like the first season or just go straight to season 3 after
I binged the entirety of this show, and I think because I was so engrossed in the rich story and world I was experiencing, I didn't even really notice the changes in direction that much. Or maybe I'm just some fool who has no refined eye for those kinds of differences
Does anyone know what were all the anime shows and name that he showed in the video?
What I most liked about it (besides the story), is the photography and the art. Those vivid backgrounds gave so much life that I'm glad it isn't compromised. All the trailers still give me the chills and I just can't wait for Mushoku Tensei to come back.
After looking at the 2nd pv, we still got good animation, no cg dragon or bear crowd scene so I'm still on hopium.
There are a few shots that look different, but that is to be expected with different staff. Even then there are several shots in the PV that look incredible so Im not very worried
Would be just lovely if you make like those sakuga videos where they will put the subtitles with the series and artist name, there are a lot of masterpieces inthis videos that just flash before my eyes and I'll stay here itching to watch them without really knowing their name.
I am just speechless at those who haven't felt the difference from s1. I have been disappointed week after week when the episodes churn out because I feel the differences. And I been asking myself if it'll be better. I hope it won't go down the path where it becomes engulfed with people and directors and animation so main stream isekai, fan service-y & streched for the purpose of commercializing every lively bit of it.

The best thing we can do as fans is buy the shows we enjoy and want more of. Licensed streaming sites are great and I love them, but if you want to support the project, industry, and people involved, the best way to do that is to purchase the series when it's released. Thankfully this is something that is very easy to do because so much anime today gets English releases and even some Japanese releases have English subtitles.
Before watching: Guys chill it's propably just prerendered scenes. Teaser to S1 had similar issues, it just better hide them, just compare scenes from anime to those from trailer.

I started reading the LN, got through 3, and I couldn't care less. I just wanna see the emotional rollercoaster that is the first three after season 1 animated.
It's gorgeous. I think it's gone from fast-paced action to slower and detailed back grounds. It really reminds me a lot of Hayao Miyazaki movies with the water painted looking super detailed back drops with animation over it. Especially when they were in the north and they cut to scenery. Stunning back grounds.
I got used to the idea that the first season of an new anime will be a banger then looses a some quality production in the next, just because how hectic their planning of releases, sometime you can notice if it was rushed or just half way finished but needs to be published, the only thing important to me is the flow will be the same, evetually an episode will look good. just pls, they need to stop the idea of changing production or studio to the next season then change the flow of the story and art direction just to be on time each season. to me one of the reason why they sometimes rush to publish a season is because they don't want the hype for that anime to die because a new and more popular series over shadow them.

This made me smile, being a die-hard MT fan I personally didn't see anything wrong with the PV mostly just the coloring was dry. However, this video was awesome man. Can't wait for IDOLM@STER too.
Thank you for this. It put me at ease.
still goated either way
I loved part 1 so much that I read the entire series. There is no universe where I don't watch the second season and still enjoy it.
They are going to go all in in the most intense moments: like vol 12. and some scenes in vol 7
Is the manga finished?
Will you do a video for under ninja?

Never heard of it, I'll have to look into it
9:00 i recognize that one piece opening music from anywhere :P ballsy to be using it in a youtube video cause of how copyright heavy it is.
I'm fine with the animation quality going down. I'm still invested in the anime and now curious about the manga. I would love for it to be the best looking thing on the market, but some of my favorite franchises aren't the most appealing to the eyes.
S1 was a banger. If they keep up the same quality, they are gonna keep the nr1 Anime place, at least in my heart.
People are seriously complaining about this?? This is nothing to worry about, just be happy this isn’t shield hero s2 adaption
As long as they are able to keep a good composition and not butcher the scenario it should be okay even if people are unhappy it's more inline with "usual" anime
This is why we need to use ai to make a database of backgrounds and characters faces That would free up more animation movements and animators could get time off and do a show alone if they wanted to
anime at 1:07 ?
I like someone who actually know what they are talking about. I just subscribed
Well i'm happy as long they make the anime, i read the novel so i know that the story, characters, etc. are great, hope everything goes fine :)
What I enjoy most about Mushoku Tensei is the world, so as long as the story keeps being interesting I don't really mind if it doesn't look as good as season 1.
What’s the anime at 3:16

@@XenoKnightAlpha omg yess you’re right !
my only fear is that some of the "direction" is going away. when nearly all of mobs staff remained except the director change despite the amazing quality of the animation, the talentnted staff and great source material it still feels like the quality never reached the highs of season 2. mob was still great, but there was a lot missing. also peole thought mushoku pv was bad?
