What is Global Navigation Satellite System (GNSS)? | Understanding GPS and Augmentation Systems
Hello. In this video we look at what is meant by Global Navigation Satellite System or GNSS. Satellite Navigation plays a major role in Aircraft navigation currently and is used by all major aircraft. This concept becomes important for PBN to allow a more direct routing and hence more fuel savings.
We look at the 2 components of GNSS: GPS and Augmentation Systems. We see what is meant by GPS and how it functions and also how an aircraft computes its location and time. We also look at the types of augmentation systems, and focus particularly on Aircraft Based Augmentation System.

GPS helps all. Global position system serve sia in campo militare che civile, esiste sia satellitare che basato su rete wifi a terra. La soluzione migliore non esiste, sugli aerei per esempio e' standard il satellitare, pero' per usi civili e' presente anche versione wifi in volo, cioe' rete wifi legale in aereo, per avere posizione con precisione in legge.
