What is Feldenkrais? - 3 Principles by Annie Thoe

This 5-minute video with sensory practice explains "How does the Feldenkrais Method work?" and What is Feldenkrais? Explanation of the remarkable results with the Feldenkrais Method®, more written in www.sensingvitality.com or www.feldenkrais.com Many clients can't explain the "magic" in this work to their friends what happens in a Feldenkrais private lesson or Awareness Through Movement® class. Annie Thoe, Feldenkrais Teacher and Assistant Trainer for Advanced Practitioner Trainings explains 3 basic principles used in this sensory learning method based on the teachings of Moshe Feldenkrais with profound results in moving with alignment, good posture, ease of movement, instant relaxation and sensory awareness which uses a guided mindfulness.
-- You'll also learn a quick tip for quick relief and relaxation of shoulder tension and for sensing your bones. If you are interested in an embodied approach to life and movement, these sensory lessons will guide you to wake up your brain and body.
Annie Thoe has over 35 years experience in private practice and is a senior practitioner and Assistant Trainer of the Feldenkrais Method®. Thanks for Subscribing, Liking and for your comments!

    It strikes me as meaningful that all 3 principles relate to Awareness. Awareness of your structure, awareness of your tension, awareness of your inner body connections.

    I think I have been learning these methods intuitively and im stunned to hear you say these things because I was applying them without knowing it and it really was the only way I could move through this back alignment work I've been doing for my scoliosis. I'm a massage therapist but I had never looked into the Feldenkrais method but I had heard of it and now I feel like I need to pursue it because I already feel so aware of this and it really is so life changing!

    How can I get rid of daily aura migraines using Feldenkrais method? Almost at the end of my rope

  • @SensingVitality

    @SensingVitality

    2 жыл бұрын

    There are may be factors that contribute to daily migraines. If you have worked with a professional - doctor, naturopath, chiropractor did they ask When did this start? After a car accident, fall or hormonal change.... does it feel like a misalignment in your neck or mid back or eye strain? There are things that may help begin lessening the pain/symptoms. I find gentle massaging in a circle manner on the outer part of your ear and slowly working inward can be helpful for headaches. Be sure you breathe in a relaxed manner and try to quiet your nervous system by staying calm, in a soothing way you would calm a child or pet. I have a number of meditation practices that are helpful for headaches in my playlists, as well as check out the head & neck playlist as well. The ear pull lesson is very helpful for headaches. I will see about making a video specifically addressing headaches. Take care-- and be gentle with yourself.

    @@SensingVitality The daily aura migraines started after I had an ASD (Atrial Septal Defect) patched and had a stroke as a result of that non-invasive surgery due to blockage to the left thalamus of my brain back in June 2015 when I was 17 years old. The reason why we'd bothered patching the ASD was because of a stroke back in October 2014 (still 17 years old) caused by reversing of the blood and blood not being filtered properly, bad blood mixing in with the good blood, so I had 2 strokes back to back. I've had CT and MRI scans proving this year that my brain is almost completely healed, yet the migraines haven't let up any. Can't go to work or school. Society puts emphasis on school and work, yet I can't do either. There's certainly an eye strain that is worrying to me, and muscle knots at the base of my skull (it's what it feels like). I've talked to pretty much every specialist you can think of. I haven't seen a nutritionist, which I thought about. I will check out the meditation practices. Thank you

    @@Lincolnator721 Hello L. - If you would like to write me through my website: www.sensingvitality.com in the contact section, that will be more private for future -- I have worked with some stroke clients and your case sounds quite complex. However, this work can be so helpful for stroke and what I find is that whatever you do-- it's probably best to do small amounts with rest interspersed. Small amounts of meditation. Rest. Small amounts of movement. Rest. If the brain gets overstimulated, pain is often set off. It can be tedious at times to be resting so often and going slowly, but better than triggering more pain. This kind of listening to the body builds trust inwardly with your body's ability to heal. For now, that is what I can offer. Will see about doing a video for headaches with you in mind.

    The content information is useful, the intro music is OK the titles are fine, but the video and audio quality of the basic video are poor. Rule #1 of production is that for maximum communication every technical aspect should be roughly equal in quality to the basic presentation. A contrast between the element will make to worst seem worse and become a distraction. Rule #2 is to never talk down to an audience. Use proper names for things like pelvis and coccyx and if you believe the audience is unfamiliar with the terms, then explain them. Any adult who can learn to spell and follow Feldenkrais can learn a few new words. Rule #3 is to stick with a subject. Feldenkrais is not magic. No aspect of it is magical. It is a 100% practical and pragmatic approach to learning to use the body through awareness. Make more videos, but get some tech help so they retain their value as tech continues to progress.
