Ғылым және технология

So long, SO-DIMM? Those familiar memory modules have been in laptops for decades, but performance ceilings loom. CAMM is ready to solve the speed issues-and more-with an all-new module design.

I'd like to see a standard for VRAM modules to allow upgrades for video cards as well as to provide dedicated fast memory for IGP's/APU's rather than having to share slower system RAM.

Hope that vram can be upgraded this way inexpensively

Now that you pointed out them saying "uhhh" I can't stop hearing it LOL! I just realized this busts the myth that you can't put vram in a socket or on a dimm as the number one thing they say publicly as to why they can not put vram on a dimm is the trace length, and I was like nope, that is just not true, as they make BGA sockets for testing chip speeds and they run at full speed, and that is even before they get soldered, LOL! There is even a white paper showing the theoretical speed limit of the socket and it was pegged at 5000mhz. So yeah, the industry lies a lot just because more moolah...

unfortunately those type of "word-whiskers" are becoming more and more wide-spread/common. The more people hear it, the more they emulate it. And so it goes/grows. A friend of mine (20-something) can't say even one complete sentence without inserting "um". YEE-OW...

So adding memory will be gone only replacing memory will be the expensive option.

I don’t have the source, but camm travels less distance than dimm because camm has less "fold" than dimm because its flat. Sorry, just take my word for it.

_One of the issues they (DELL) are trying solve is customers upgrading their laptops with 3rd party memory suppliers instead of buying the disgustingly overpriced DELL supplied memory_ LOL

So they expect me to toss out my entire memory module, instead of having slots to add memory? Uhm... how about no? Why would I support these anti-consumer tactics? Change your form factor.
