This ship is good. I have it. But I feel like it has a bit of disadvantage once the saturation point hits for SAP. At least with HE, you can hope for fires to make the damage tick. Best thing is that it will do full pen damage to subs. Always puts a smile on my face when I slap one of those buggers.

Airship escort in my Sicilia against one, Lauria shells were just a constant 10-15k. Finally got close enough to get full secondaries on her, along with HE and help from a friendly DD with smoke, we took her down. Tbh, I still prefer Sicilia over my di Lauria.

If you prefer the brawling type, take Mecklenburg. If you prefer standard BB play, take Bourgogne first, then di Lauria next. Incomparable is good too, but squishy

Bourgogne is a better all round ship. Reload booster and good speed makes her a joy

They're both fun to play but I like Bourgogne a little bit more personally.

Bourg suffers if you can't get a flank or broadside to shoot at but then lights fires, but its also hard to cit (spaced french citadel absorbs shells for you) Bourg has very high penetration guns at all ranges it just struggles because it has 0 overmatch at all at tier 10 besides superlights Lauria absolutely slaps any target with SAP but has a much weaker overall broadside (both giving and taking), also less consistent because of dispersion values/8 guns. Overall I'd say Bourg is a better brawler/flanker and Lauria is a better ambush/kiter, they both have great speed.

You'll gain more skill by mastering Bourgogne. Di Lauria should be your second or 3rd steel BB imo
