Great video. It inspired me to buy one of these, but I thought I’d share my experience. It looks like this is the 3000 or 4000 model? All of their models are equipped with a safety switch that keeps the boiler from over pressurizing. If you leave it on too long - which is easier to let happen than you might think. Especially after a hard day’s ironing and you accidentally leave it on overnight. Trust me it can happen. Once it does, you will not be able to use your iron at all. You’ll think it’s broken, but it’s not. It has a safety switch INSIDE and there are no instructions on how to find it or access it. The problem with the 3000 & 4000 models is that in order to get to that switch you literally have to disassemble the entire unit, which is just about impossible without damaging it. In my opinion, that made it impossible to live with. So, after going through this and researching it further the 5000 model and above are designed in a way that allow much easier access to that switch. I ended up with the 6000 model, which holds considerably more water, too. If you can’t perform the most basic repairs on one of these than I would not recommend having one and the 5000 model is the one you want if that is an issue for you. They really shouldn’t even sell the smaller models, which require a costly service trip back to the manufacturer - cost both in time and shipping. And with time you’re talking many weeks...so,you’d be without it for longer than you would want. Reliable is really the only company making quality stations like this and they are well made. If you need one I highly recommend getting one, but I would absolutely not get the 3000 or 4000 model, which is like the one shown in this video. The 5000 and above is more money, but will save you money, time and headaches down the road. Just my advice from personal experience. Happy ironing!

Hi! Laura I have been watching you for years now I saw this video when you first put it out there and I have been wanting one of these irons every since. Last year I got the Reliable 260IR which is a home iron which has a boiler inside. Yet keep thinking about this “your ironing stating” so just today mine came in the mail. I got the 5000IS Boiler with the 2150 iron with the 11’ hose. I too love to iron I am a quilter. I just know I’m going to love this iron very much......I may have to contact Reliable co. To help with the hook up to the boiler on the 5000IS. HAPPY ironing. And keep on put video out I love them.

"Now THAT is some serious steam!" (3:50-3:52) Ha! You didn't even have to say the words - your eyes showed us how impressed you were. WOW! It certainly is! This demo was so much fun to watch. The anticipating smile on your face from the beginning and at 4:09 when you say, "It's a new iron" and how you vocally paced that phrase ... well, it was like you were about to open a much-longed for expensive piece of jewelry or clothing that you were showing off to your friend, neighbor, or sister. As if you'd ordered it without your husband's approval for the expenditure, and felt a tad guilty about the family budget, but couldn't wait to brag about it and show it off. You just couldn't keep this experience to yourself, could you? :-) Those few seconds alone made me giggle and feel like I was there in person with you - enjoying the excitement of it all - discovering the attributes of its capabilities. Oohing and ahhing it as you gave us all the amazing details. It would be the equivalent of a man showing off all the bells and whistles of a new power tool in his garage to his neighbor who shared in the same hobby (picture Tim Allen doing this on "Tool Time" and then his grunting of approval). Whoa! What sewist doesn't want a lighter weight iron with all that powerful expulsion of steam? As you said, "This is not ANY old iron". Two hours of continuous steam? This is an iron any quilter would want to put at the top of the list of her/his tool budget. And this obviously is an iron that you, Laura, could even sell the old-fashioned way of door-to-door and make a living at. Your conviction of it's value shows - from ear to ear. Reliable couldn't have made a more appealing commerical. Thanks for the entertainment and Reliable information. :-)

Loved watching this lol it was good. On a more serious note, I often wonder if the room gets damp with all that water evaporating. You may have a dryer atmosphere than I have, being close to the sea in Scotland. It looked as though you could iron curtains while they are hanging up at the window - I can just see you giving them a steam lol. Enjoy!

I am considering purchasing this ironing system for my sewing room and wanted to hear your opinion of it now that it's 4 years later. How is your ironing system holding up? Is it still working fine? Do you use it regularly? Do you use it as much as your regular Oliso iron we see in your other video tutorials? I greatly value your expert opinion and look forward to hearing your response. Thank you so very much.
