Is this the Ultimate Ironing Board?

I've got a new ironing board! It's a pretty special one, because my nephew and I designed and built it. I never thought I'd be proud of an ironing board, but I kind of am :-)

My custom ironing board is a door. Works perfectly. Covered with a thick flannel mat and canvas. I love it.

@@FutureCatNZ The keys to the door is it must be hollow and holes drill sporadically. I had a frame built around it and the door is removable as needed. It is now about 14 years old. I am going to get a new door soon. The local quilt shop is ordering the heavy cotton canvas. Once the canvas arrives then there will be a family gathering to stretch the canvas a staple in place.

I just found you. Knoxville TN USA here. Love the new ironing board and the storage space. Could you please send out the measurements of the ironing board and the height too. Your feather quilting was very good. Liked the string better than the elastic for the top. Could I make the top. Could I make a suggestion. In the corner of your room maybe take out the chest of drawers and lamp and have your kin build you a bookcase like the other one you have all the way up to the ceiling. And I can’t see the other corner maybe do it too. And maybe keep all your cases and furniture light. Also I think some white lace sheers or curtains would help lighten up the room. I was so excited to see you get your ironing board get made because it makes you so happy. Thank you

The top was was made from a 600x1200mm board, which would be roughly 23x47". Including the wheels, it's about 34" high. Thanks for the suggestions on what to do with my sewing room. Unfortunately it doubles as my office space when I'm working from home, so I'm a bit limited on what I can do with it, but you gave me some good ideas to think about!

I don’t think I would’ve quilted the cover, because those stitch lines might come through when you’re pressing your blocks. I need to recover my normal ironing board, but I’m going to use upholstery fabric and a solid color.
