Here's a big tip about introverts: If an introvert asks you to watch a movie with them, they consider you a very close and trustworthy friend. Turn off your phone, and pay very close attention to the movie. An introvert's fave movie is important to them because they feel an emotional connection to it, one that's pretty similar to how people feel about pets or friends. Respect that. Pay attention to the movie, and talk about it afterwards. The introvert is trying to show you a bit of themself the best they know how.

I never really thought about it before. But I do tend to watch for reactions and ask what a friend/family thought of what ever it was I wanted to show them. Indifferent or dismissive reactions don't feel to good.

Introvert here... In my school, I always alone. I walk alone, I sit alone and I am just all by myself and I like it. But when my 'friends' saw me just sitting there all by myself, they would be like, "Hey, someone accompany him! Poor guy sitting alone.." NO! Please leave me alone, I want it to be that way. Doesn't mean someone just sitting alone only means they are sad or depressed. They just like to be alone. Because they're INTROVERTS! One day I was walking alone going from one place to another a teacher saw me and say, "Poor guy walking alone." Please freakin' NO! That's just annoying and stuff. I felt like explaining to everyone about introverts and extroverts, but thinking back they would not understand and continue to think I need a company all the time. It's not like people neeeeeed to be with the crowd all day long, 7 times a week, 30 days a month, 12 months a year FREAKINGGGG 24/7. Huh? I guess people just don't get it.

It really sucks when you're the only introvert in your family and they keep pressuring you to be more social because they just don't understand why you're not like them. Edit: Wow. Three years later, it’s so nice but so sad to see how many of us there are. When I was little, my dad used to force me to order and purchase things by myself. I know he just wanted to teach me some social skills, but it ended up giving me a lot of anxiety that carried through to adulthood. I’m actually really good with people. I just prefer to be alone since most people I’ve met are selfish and manipulative. I’m sure a lot of you feel the same. Just wanted to say - you’re not alone ❤️

Or them basically trying to pressure you into doing something you deem a waste of time (getting drunk, parajumping, hugging during interesting documentaries, etc) without listening to you asking them for space... it's okay to be related, but not everybody likes hugging all the time... and not everybody feels the need to talk for three hours straight...

Being an introvert means less but better friends, limited socializing skills, super sensitivity, extreme empathy for others, caring personality.

I can remember some parts of some dreams, but I can recall that they weren't normal in the slightest, and I always just, went with the flow in the dream. Has anyone else had something like that before?

I don't like being introverted because whenever I think of something good to say a few minutes later I regret it and hate myself for saying it and sometimes when I think of something actually good to say them the conversation has already gone on to a different topic or i feel like I don't know the person enough to say it

A lot of people don't talk to me bc I can't really keep a convorsation. Nothing pops up in my head to talk about and it ends up being like a interview where the person is asking me questions the whole time

While sometimes it sucks being an Introvert, I now enjoy the thought of being one just because of this video. And while I would LOVE to be an extrovert, I like being able to process and imagine better.

you can do that while being an introvert too. It's more of an acquired trait but you can definitely develop it in yourself.

Being an introvert is enjoyable at times. Sometimes I get lonely and depressed though. If I do speak to people, I usually hang out in small group with family or friends that I know and trust very well. I like being alone rather than being in public areas. It's also hard for me to get noticed sometimes. I am known in school for my good English and writing skills though.

I am very much an introvert. At home, I don't really talk much. Based on this video, I think I would consider myself a thinking introvert. I spend a lot of time in imaginative thought. Maybe that's why I love being an actor. It gives me an outlet for imaginative thought. I will say that I feel I have greatly improved my social skills since I joined the Shakespeare Institute in my town. I made a lot of new friends that share my interests. I still have times where I have trouble with conversations, but it's nowhere near as bad as it used to be.

Pratik Rane appreciate it, thanks very much :) I've always done acting since I was a kid, (I'm 24 now), but recently having learnt more about myself, such as my introverted leanings, and whilst going through a pretty vicious depression, acting has given me some semblance of life back and because of that, and by many accounts I'm actually good at it, I'm auditioning for drama schools for September.

One big misconception that people bring up when it comes to introverts is that we choose to be this way, whether it's out of spite or inconsideration. While there are people that do that, not all introverts become introverts out of choice. As a 28-year-old currently living with his dad (financial and family matters), I honestly wouldn't mind doing more social activities with friends. The problem, however, is that I have a speech impediment, which has been around since I was born, so making friends has always been a challenge. I only ever made one friend throughout my life (sixth grade) but he moved with his family to Utah shortly thereafter, so I've been by myself for 17 years. As much as I enjoy being alone and reserved sometimes, I also like a little spontaneity and risk taking in my life, which are obviously considered more extroverted traits. I've also considered going on dating sites, not necessarily to find a match, but just so I can have an avenue to talk to people that's not just video games. Apologies for the long comment, this has been on my mind for a while and finally wanted to say it.

Imagine if we were in the Game Of Thrones universe, we introverts would defo be the: "Children of the forest" we'd fade into folklore and people would question our existence.

It's false that extroverts are happier than introverts, we just regain happiness and energy in different ways. An extrovert might concider something to be fun, whilst an introvert claims it's draining. Introverts tend to be more silent, and enjoys spending time alone, but the claim that introverts are more depressed is just false.

Actually, the introversion - extroversion spectrum is one of sensitivity to positive emotion. Contrast neurotecism, which is similar, but has to do with negative emotions. So, the more introverted you are, the less susceptible to your are to possitive feelings.

Yes, we are just happy from different things. I might be more uncomfortable in a crowded environment and an extrovert might be more happy in that environment, most environments are crowded or kind of crowded though depending where you live. We are just happier when the extroverts are not around, so they don't see it as much and think we are lonely and depressed. Of course you can be depressed weather you are an introvert or an extrovert and it isn't necessarily because you are introverted or extroverted that you are depressed. Anyone can be depressed, you just are.

FACT: To be an Introvert does not mean that you live life alone. In fact, alot of introverts have plenty of fab friends, and family. But, when you need your space, you need your space, and everyone can relate to that.

People usually confuse an introvert with a shy person. Being shy is not comfortable and there are ways to change that, but being introverted is fulfilling and comfortable and it cannot be changed. Introvert is a personality type.

I'm happy to be an introvert

sometimes I hate myself for being socially awkward and anxious for most of the time, especially in a very crowded and stimulating environment. but I find it more peaceful and relaxing, talking to people and becoming only with a few, it's enough to know that there are people who are real and trustworthy enough. plus, I prefer observing and selecting the people I'm going to interact. And now, I'm starting to love my uniqueness !

Mr. Nobody. That is very normal for most introverts. For me it can slow down sometimes. But mostly I'm continually thinking of all kinds of things from all categories and subjects, thinking of solutions about climate and other stuff. also a lot of day dreaming fantasy worlds all the time!

thank you. but sometime, when i fell sleepy and try to sleep early, i's hard because of this one. the only way for me to reduce it is to write. and now my head is full with the alternative of storyline from the novel that i try to write. and ya, just like you said, fantasy, i thinking about that also.

Mr. Nobody I have had that to on a rare occasion, where you can't sleep because your mind just wants to grind gears on thoughts non stop. Over time I have gotten use to it, and I let myself day dream or think abort stuff for a half hour or two. That will mostly get out of my system, then I can kinda turn it off to fall asleep.

At first I thought I was an a introvert, but I started being more overwhelmed and getting panic attacks. I also started getting physical symptoms like nausea and shortness of breath. I realized I have social anxiety disorder and now I want to have therapy, but I haven't told my parents since I'm scared they'll brush it off.

I'm an introvert (becoming an extrovert) I know I'll never be 100% extrovert. But I'll always know who the introverts are and I'll never forget my folks and what I came from. I just want to be able to live the social life as it means me feel so much happier. I know a problem that comes from my Introversion is feeling alone when I'm going through a stage of sadness which really isn't okay. And I feel like putting myself out there in a positive way will really let me express myself freely. I'll never ever forget you guys ❤️ much love

People have already picked up on the fact that I somehow know more than they can understand how I know it, which is why they tend to come to me when they need to find someone they can´t find.

Bragging would be if I, well, bragged about it. I just said what I´m good at, and that´s that. Bragging is something people do to make themselves feel better about something they do just as good as others. I, on the other hand, just naturally pick up on more things around me, and that´s not always a good thing. I mean, think about it: You´re trying to sleep, but you hear this noise that keeps you awake. Sure, most people would find the source of this noise and make it be quiet, but what if that noise is the neighbor´s TV? Sure, I know that they watch documentaries on the third reich at 2AM, but what does this help me when I got a test the next day? If someone would tell you that they finally beat the Water Temple in Legend of Zelda (don´t know which game exactly), would you say they´re bragging about it?

Think of it as a normal distribution. Some are exceptional and some just falls under. So there's always people with different level and ability to understand people. But there's another case with Autism which refers to a broad range of conditions characterized by challenges with social skills, repetitive behaviors, speech and nonverbal communication, as well as by unique strengths and differences.

I am an introvert, true. When i "spy" on people, i am likeble to them because i have to be in a specific personality that is confertable and prefered the other person without asking. People then think that is my actual personality even though it isnt in some ways.

I am an introvert and an empath... I agree with everything in this video except.... but I am a super happy person...and I have been a super happy person once I learned how to deal and control myself, the environmental exposure and my hyper emotions correctly.... life is great!....and yes being alone is so super FANTASTIC!

I'm introverted and super happy because I deal with other introverts and HSPs and we feed off each other to make ourselves happy, because we understand each other.

I am a extrovert/introvert I am friendly but I don't open up as easily to people because I don't trust people like I used to when I was younger because all my friends moved away I observed people to see if I have something in common someone before I become friends with them and I have an old soul but I am always happy I always tell jokes around my friends and family but I am outgoing when around my friends and family but not outgoing when around strangers but I be friendly to them. I also think before I speak because I am shy because I embarrass myself alot it happen to me before alot

All my friends like kpop that’s what we have in common lol. I try to talk to more people so people won’t think I’m all alone and just shy because once a kid said “Why her she’s always quiet” then I teacher came to that kid and was like “shh she’s shy!” That pissed me off so much.

Thanks for sharing I’m also introvert, growing up with many siblings, every time we have visitors or going to store and seen by many people around my thoughts in mind was crazy and I feel shy for no reason, I prefer myself to be alone doing the things that I loved to do which is singing it helps me relax and calm.

i can relate to all of it. except the "more likeable" thing...people tend to rather dislike me because of my habits.

After watching this video, I realize that I was surrounded with introverts and they demonstrated their own uniqueness and distinctive personalities! My classmate jokes about me a lot, he doesn't know that he could also hurt my feelings, I'm also very good at hiding stuff, so when I am crying no one would even notice, I don't think anyone ever pays attention to me, that's also why when I talk to people when they don't respond it makes me think I did something wrong, I think I'm annoying them, so why bother talking if they aren't even listening to me, I wasted oxygen and they don't even reply!?! I also over think things I'm going to stop now cus I have written a lot of things already, but I do hope u understand this.

While I'm happy to be an introvert, it's really hard to blend in today's society since it's so extrovert biased. What's worse is when you have social anxiety. Welp goodbye outside time I guess. I swear just the thought of going to school and meeting people makes me anxious. Also since I only have one friend in school (who is an extrovert), I always try to bring myself to talk more since I find any kind of silence awkward (I mean, when you have social anxiety, you tend to overthink about everything). Of course, one I keep trying to engage in the conversation, I immediately regret it because I think that my friend will find me talkative when in fact, I'm just trying to not make myself awkward. I don't know lol. Sometimes introversion is a good thing but most of the time, I don't think so.

The best thing to do in order to find happiness as an introvert, is to find someone special who is also introverted. The time you guys spend together is often just you two. It's a really nice feeling.

Extroverts tend to think we’re stuck up because we don’t talk. And if you’re shy, like I am, then you won’t look them in the eye as much either. Which makes them think you’re looking down on them.
