very clear, warm, concise discussion about Accelerated Resolution Therapy. I hope many people are able to see this video and if they are struggling with trauma, grief, etc they contact an ART therapist, and that more clinicians will get trained in this intervention.

Thanks Dr. Les for deciding to do this podcast and thanks Julia Clowney for the shout out! ART completely changed my practice when I was trained in 2014. We have had great success in the military at those installations willing to give it a shot. Extremely rewarding for patients and providers alike. I agree with everything said and am excited to see you "Spreading ART" on social media.

I really enjoyed this session-A.R.T. is fascinating and i loved hearing about your experiences practicing it with your patients. I was also reminded of my EMDR work in the winter of 2017-18 & how my then therapist taught me how to use it outside his office. Looking back I am SO grateful for all the tools I've gotten & the ability to practice daily what I've learned!

👍🏽All these interventions move us towards greater freedom-and we can easily take it away when we are not aware of what dominates us in the present moment. ☀️

Hi - please check with the ART training website. I do not believe so. In person for such training are more effective because you pair up and practice in each other, then you get instant feedback from the instructors.

The "positivizing" concerns me a little. I wish she'd give an example of it because what worries me is wouldn't that be planting a false memory?

Great question. Part of the intervention is called re-scripting the narrative in a scene. It’s not about false memories-it’s about helping someone suffer less/resolve their torment of the trauma. Thanks for your comment 👍🏽

It's not a false memory. You know what actually happened. The rescripting helps with how much emotion you carry today from something that has happened to you in the past.
