3:44 FYI, for those who have the mod from steam workshop: there is a setting in the "mods" section of slay the spire. Mods --> downfall -> checkbox about starting at campfire

Frost: gives a lecture about how saying "read the card" doesn't help because he already read it. Also Frost: didn't read the card correctly and would have had his answer that way.

Inject the downfall straight into my veins. I'd be down for more downfall content repeating your fav characters and climbing the ascensions w/ them. Especially automaton as he's my fav.

Add a mutator with energy generation/ bug barrage/ idol of reto and it's goated. I didn't record the latest run that it happened to me

This is probably the coolest concept for a character ever. Really really would like to see Frost play this guy more, try a status/curse focused deck, and whatever else he can do :)

Frost: "Automaton is probably my favorite so far" *Encode, Encoded, Compile, Compiled within 20 seconds with a paragraph each* Also Frost previously: WHY THE FUCK IS THERE SO MANY WORDS ON THE CHAMPS STANCES!? Bruh...

except the things he encodes and compiles are created piece by piece. He builds them. You can easily understand something if it is split up in parts and created by you. The champ on the other hand, every single card is a college thesis and hard to keep track of when you have like 20 paragraphs of text as a deck

How did you find Champ harder to understand and play than Automoton? I have yet to win with him.

I think automaton is more complex but has a basic mechanic that when you understand it all the other cards make sense how they fit into it. Champ has a simpler basic mechanic but the way it interacts with all the different cards is much more complex so with each new card you really have to read a lot and think about it.

Automaton seems more like a lot of very simple things combine into a complex thing. While the champ is a lot of complex things that do something very simple. Like just look at the wall of text cards that the champ has. Compared to the very simple cards that the automaton has that can be used in complex ways.

@@thebrokenmirror5343 I agree. The complexity of the Automaton comes from many small interactions coming together. While champ has individually complex cards which go for a simple game plan. They can both be very difficult but its dependent on how you like to play card games

Normally I'm on Frost's side, but that was totally a Mald about the card Assembly. Frost: "I want specific cards in each function, I don't know if clicking them in order, sets them in that order." Chat: "The card tells you" Frost, starting to MAld: "Telling me read the card doesn't help..." The card " Encode all encodedable card discarded in the order selected." I think this is fair to say chat was completely right, and the card explained it perfectly. Definitely a Frost mald. However, It'll count against chat for major backseating after frost said he didn't want spoilers. 😃

The Automaton I've probably spent the longest playing and the one thing that will cause me to lose more than anything else is getting lost in the sauce. Just something about when you are able to compile and create like 3 functions in a turn just turns my brain into ape and I forget the basics of look at your mana.

Automaton: Its your job to make the cards now

In this episode, Frost is still angry about The Champ and the comments invalidating his problems with them. Also, he rambles about the importance of reading cards... Minutes after yelling at someone in chat telling him to read a card, since Frost somehow thought reading wouldn't help.

This character is so cool, glad you had fun with it

Had a run where i had 5 innate backstabs that encoded with 5 energy, would start each round doing nearly 100-120 dmg instantly on turn 1

Regarding the campfire starting, it is a setting in the mod option on the main screen. Mine was just off by default.

I can actually explain how to get the camp fires at the start, if you go into the mods section and select the downfall mod there a various options you can pick, one of them being having the camp fires at the start rather than the end

Nah, all the effects basically happen at the same time. Same with stuff like Philosophize, it used your stats as you used the card instead of doing them one at a time

Automaton is another character who has a lot of multi-hit attacks and functions ... first camp, getting the red key early so you can break it will drastically improve your run 🔺 19:09 Get Latest is the Automaton's version of White Noise ... it's really good to have one of these, so you can try out all the different functions, including the rare ones 🆕 34:33 Iterate goes exceptionally well with the Philosophize multi-hit strength build you're creating ... having two Iterate cards in your deck seems like a great idea 🦾 The only other suggestion I'd have for your Automaton run is that you play Fine Tuning as soon as you have two encoded cards in your function ... holding it becomes a waste 🔧

waaay too overpowered :D especially with assembly. You basically can put like effects of 3-9 mana into a one cost. Get some more unlocks and you get to put all this shit into a power with eve stronger effects.
