Also remember the thumbnail supposedly compares it to a 747 in size. Apparently these magical cobalt bombs are 800 meters long. Cobalt bombs are literally just a dirtier nuclear bomb that extends the lifetime of threatening radiation a little bit. An analogy for this bomb concept is imagine they invent a new fuel for cars, but if the gas station explodes it burns for longer. Who cares how long it burns for, the problem is the gas station exploding in the first place.

Quick explanation: Cobalt bombs (Salted bombs) are generic nuclears bomb with a bit more radioactive payload (more fallout).

That ad caught me so off guard, I feel like I just got whiplash

“Dirty bombs” are traditional explosives that have radioactive materials added to it to cause further destruction from fallout; cobalt bomb would be a “salted bomb” which is a nuclear weapon that is designed to produce higher levels of radioactive fallout than a traditional nuclear explosion would. Same idea in both cases but “dirty” bombs are powered by conventional explosives and “salted” bombs are powered by nuclear weapons.

@@michaelmorbid704 Dirty bomb-conventional explosive Salted bomb - nuclear Video said it’s a dirty bomb, then proceeded to spend a minute or two really driving the point home that Co-59 is used in the weapon so that the nuclear explosion triggers a nuclear reaction from Co-59 ->Co-60… Cobalt bombs aren’t dirty bombs; they’re salted bombs (contrary to the video…so no, not repeating exactly what they said but just with different words. 👍)

A Cobalt bomb is not the most powerful bomb, it's just a dirty bomb or salted, whichever term you want to use, it designed to produce more radiation fallout than normal.
