As a huge fucking Metallica fan, I'm pretty sure Lars concedes even Lombardo would blow him out the water, considering he was satisfied that Lombardo played with the band when he suffered a panic attack. So, he's not exactly wrong.

Everything, literally EVERYTHING about this is spot on, the leads, the drums, the guitar tones, the note progression, the vocal style. This is insanely good.

Vocals aren't 100% but close enough. Musically, nailed it right down to the sloppy tremolo picking and chaotic solos. Side note: This is probably my favorite Slayer song.

It amazes me that people still shit on Metallica for suing Napster. It turns out they were completely right and piracy nearly killed the music recording industry. No young artists make any money from record deals anymore, everyone makes their money touring, which is why live shows cost more than they used to. It's because this song is really already very much a Slayer-like structure in its orignial Metallica form, even the subject matter and lyrics. They only had to do very small tweaks like the down-tuning and adding competent drumming and stuff like that.

God damn that was some of the most beautiful music I've ever heard. I didn't even know I wanted this.

From the playing to the production this is polished, flawlessly executed and really does let us heat what it could have sounded like. In all honesty this is one of the best Metallica songs in so long. A lot of credit has to go to the brilliance behind the original. Metal is always alive and strong.
