    Calling it another USSR is not going to help... Our real enemy here will not be the Russians, or some phantom of a communist past, but rather the corruption so many of us experience in our politics, and the difficulties we will have in removing it. If we can fix ourselves, we can encode protections for us all in whatever government we adopt within this union, but if we cannot do that, then no matter divided or united, we are unable to stand.

    Looking into details your comment makes a lot of sense. I absolutely agree. I said USSR not because I meant that it has to be in every possible case scenario one, but because every union from this kind is going to sound to most of the people like ''USSR V2.0'' even if it has to do nothing with socialism whatsoever. These are pure speculations from my side given my age (20 years), which means that I've never seen socialism in action, and my opinion about USSR is based mostly on historical data. God dammit this was a fuckin essay :D

    From the outside, yes. It was a civil war, but it was from the outside. It didn't have nothing to do with any kind of nationalistic oppression. Sure. I can tell you one thing. If you want to build your Slavic superpower count Slovenia and Croatia out. And thinking that the polish will welcome the Russians back after the shit that went down behind the iron curtain is incredibly delirious. Let alone the Russian anexion of the Krim. Sure Ukraine would LOVE to be best friends with Russia. haha come on. There is no such thing as a Slav. It just is another pseudo imperialistic claim. Get over it.

But, I see no Polish people lamenting on German crimes over Polish people ( although German crimes were incomparably more massive than Soviet ones ). How is that ? Marko Nekoizmase You don't see Polish people lamenting German crimes against poles??? You must be BLIND or simply dont want to see. I'm German and I can't even count how often in politics Poles are complaining about WW2 crimes of Germany. Especially Kaczynski's. But you want to know whats the real difference between German crimes against Poles and Russian crimes against Poles??? Germans aknowledge that they did horrible things - even tho Germans alive today had nothing to do with those crimes they try to make up for the crimes of their forefathers. One of our greatest leaders (Willy Brandt) fell to his knees in Warschau begging for forgiveness, while Russians today celebrate the "greatness" of their Empire of subjugation called UdSSR. In the UdSSR Poles were murdered when they tried to free themself, in the EU and NATO they entered out of their own free will. My respect goes out to the Polish people and their forefathers - who have endured so many centuries of struggle and subjugation. May their future be bright.

Propaganda and using people, manipulation, unfortunately isnt only a part of the past tho and still very much possible - but yeah, now with the internet its easier to find out the truth. Well - if there were anything to happen, I consider Russia to be the most likely state to start something considering the shit they are currently doing in Ukraine against their so-called Brothers. Don't think anything will happen as long as its Putin who is in power (the alternatives are far worse).

    It could work my brother, you think too little of us. If European Union could be established by nations that have literally shed eachothers blood for centuries and have absolutely nothing in common then also Slavic Union could be established. Thing is I understand resentments from the past, but I think we should really put them to bed. Let's take a look at the invasion of Poland. Soviets (That don't represent only Russians by the way) have invaded Poland by the command of Stalin that wasn't Slav at all - considering how many Slavs he has killed I'd say he generally had no love for our people. And so because of that todays Polaks "should hate" todays Russians? It doesn't make sense! Today is today, we live in time when our culture is being compromised and instead of fighting about who's fault is it (when it's no ones because we are not 1000 y.o.) we could create this union of beautiful countries with similar history, culture and language.

  • @yarpen26

    @yarpen26

    7 жыл бұрын

    No. It doesn't exist because it has no reason to exist. The differences between different Slavic countries are much more visble than between, say, Romance-speaking countries. And yet you hear absolutely nothing of the French willing to unite with the Spanish and Italians, even though all of them share the alphabet and religion and arguably could understand each other much easier than, say, a Pole and a Russian. Also, you make unions between countries that can more or less be considered equal, with none of them possibly being able to dominate over the rest. That's one reason why the USSR had to expand only with brute force, since its existence benefitted only Russia (or the Russian authorities, not the Russian people themselves mind you). And even when you pretend that everybody's gonna be shiny and rosy in such a union, no tanks, no labor camps, no nothing, the question remains, how will an average Slav benefit from all this? The USSR started out as an impoverished craphole and was an impoverished craphole when it collapsed. Its "unity" didn't promote any sort of economic advancement or personal initiative, if anything it held people back. So no, no Slavic union, no Russian union. Especially considering the fact that Russia takes up such an enormous mass of territory it won't be able to sustain it within the next 50 years. i predict there is going to be a massive exodus of Russians from the Far East, the Siberia and possibly even the European parts by 2050. So I don't see why anyone would be willing to join it.

  • @Shlizer

  • @yarpen26

    @yarpen26

    7 жыл бұрын

    Shlizer But that wouldn't just apply to the Slavic countries, it would apply to every country out there, regardless of its dominant ethnicity. Sorry to say but the biggest obstacle standing in the way of a better economic cooperation in Eastern Europe is Russia. If it weren't for all that meddling in the neighboring countries and a ridiculous amount of money poured into the military which is not necessary at all (they have nukes for crying out loud, nobody will try to invade them!), Russia could just base its economic development on the export of gas and oil. But because it uses its natural resources as a political tool, it keeps losing significant shares of the overseas market, such as Poland which already finished building a gasport that will allow them to import Norwegian gas. And there soon might be a pipeline leading to Belarus and Ukraine. In other words, nobody in Europe wants Russian gas unless they have any other option. Which, needless to say, undermines Russia's geopolitical position.

  • @obiwanschinobi

    @obiwanschinobi

    7 жыл бұрын

    Things are way more complicated than having nukes. All superpowers need to demonstrate their power via military. You do need to understand that there are ALWAYS at least two sides of the story. While Russia is being portrait as a land-grabbing despotic monster in the west, Russia feels probable even more threatened by NATO. And rightfully so! NATO is building bases and annexing - yes, I said annexing - the last few countries on Russia's border, while pressing on it economically with embargoes and such. There is also always the possibility of internal conflict in Russia, which is ethnically very diverse country. And that is where its enemies are aiming for. No other power in its right mind wants to invade Russia - that is not how things work in the nuclear age ;) But to stir up some internal issues and have chunks of it fall off. That is what was going on in Chechenia and what is going on now with Ukraine (please no comments on this with some main-stream media bullshit). Or have it socially and economically so weak, that foreign "interest" can go on a shopping spree of Russia's natural resources (pretty much what was going on with Russia during Jelcin's time). Now that is what can destroy Russia. And that is why Russia needs strong standing army, and that is why it needs someone like Putin. And without a strong Russia, we get hegemony of USA, which by now is nothing but a puppet state of global corporations. And we had enough time to see how that cookie crumbles ;) Slava!

  • @yarpen26

    @yarpen26

    7 жыл бұрын

    ObiwanSchinobi I'll put it this way: in Eastern Europe, when the choice is between Russia and the US as the dominant one, the choice will always be the US because 1) the US is far away and so has no direct way to actually, physically interfere in a given country's affairs, unlike Russia 2) Russia has a history of totalitarian oppression of both its own people and foreign neighbors. The worst crimes the US were involved in over the past two centuries pale in comparison to even the less hardcore suffering Poland, Hungary, Ukraine or Czechoslovakia experienced at the hands of Stalin or his succesors 3) While some of the countries that were or are part of the US zone of influence did suffer an economic breakdown due to it, plenty of them actually experienced a boom in living standards, such as pretty much the entire Western Europe, East Asia, Chile and so on. Russian dominance, on the other hand, never brought any of sort of economic wellbeing to any of the territories that were ruled by it. Tsarist Russia was Europe's poorest country and out of all the former Soviet republics those that decidedly cut away their ties to Moscow fared the best (the Baltics, Georgia).

    Maybe with your new leader Rumen Radev you may find yourselves on the right track. Nobody need surrender independence but we could all realise that things work out best when we help one another and not the monster that is the west. We still need our neighbours as friends too. I as a Ukrainian am fond of my Hungarian, Romanian and Moldovan neighbours, and this is where we and Bulgarians become close. I can only hope things are good between Bulgarians and Romanians/Greeks/Turks (i.e. your non-Slav neighbours). I'd long to see discrimination of Roma come to an end too... and finally a world where people are free to choose their religion and force it upon nobody.

    I agree with you 99Boiko. For now Rumen Radev seems not so bad, i really hope that he means the things he says. Since Bulgaria enterned the European Union things have gone worse for the normal people because european conditions are reflecting very badly. The country was not ready for afronting it and the sucrifice was made by the people meanwhale corrupted politics took away a great amount of the money that was given for making the changes. So lets hope Rumen Radev does something different instead of selling our souls to the west.😅. Of course we need to help one another, i have a friend of Ucraine and i have offered my help just after stopping shaking her hand happily (if only i could control my countrys external politic😁). And with the neighbours we are a little tense because of the refugees but this is a bigger problem.

The people that i have known only speaking for Bulgaria, and only what i have heard, some mis it (we felt more secure, we had jobs, everithing was planned) others hated it (we couldnt make more money, you cant be an inventor for yourself y had to be in a team, they took our properties). What he said is still true - given atheism is not a religion, that does still mean the largest religion in Czech is katolicismus. For that matter, historically speaking, excepting the kališníci, katolicismus has been the faith of Czechs. Plzeň's coat of arms, for instance, even is as it is because of the city's stalwart defence of the faith against the husiti.

    I've always loved that idea. In my opinion all slavic people as a offspring of one preslavic tribe should stick together, because where's unity and brotherhood, there's strenght, independence and safety. I do realize that over centuries we (Slavs) became different in many ways. Sometimes we hurted each other, we fought against one another and some of us stood aside of our common enemies. But we can't live in the past. All that musn't be forgotten, but it should be forgiven and we should concentrate on the future and Slavic Union ( or Confederation ) could be the best way to achive that. I do believe (maybe naively ) that despite all differnces and painfull history between slavic nations, there's still in almost everyone of us a little bit of our common ancestors and that this will help us to build a new ties and finally reunite as one big slavic family. So Slavic Union - definitely YES, but ( I hate to say that) without today's Russia, its undemocratic, wild, possessive, wicked, often agressive and criminal policy and KGB agents or communists as country leaders. Russia should go through many serious changes and reforms before it could beacame a part of such union.There's also one important issue that stands in the way to slavic unity - religion / faith. In my opinion we all should get rid of both judeochristian and islamic religions and their sects from our countries. No one will convince me that there's something good in those religions. They only make people mind limited, hatefull, insane, divided, weak, enslaved, brainwashed and make even kill one another. Christian Church (both west one and east one ) from many centuries now is only milking and robs our countries from money, land and all other goods, scares, haunts and persecutes all those who have enough courage to stand against The Black Spider. Meanwhile is playing its nasty political games just to stay in power and control as many souls as possible and all that in the name of made up god. We don't need that at all. We don't need foreign made-up gods since we still have our own ones and our own slavic religion. I would love to see ( not only slavic people) but all nations and ethnic groups of the world breaking the chains of christian / islamic enslavery and returning to our old religious and cultural roots. It ain't gonna happen in my lifetime, but I hope next generations will own that wisdom and will make the world a better and safe place not only for slavic nations.
