A Marine Luffy would be a bit OP because Garp himself would continue to train him meaning he would get Haki earlier. That and him learning the six powers plus his devil fruit abilities. Yeah it wouldn’t take long for Luffy to rise up the ranks great video man

Funny twist as well is both him and Akainu spearheading the marines In leaving the world government despite trying to kill each other and this would even fit with joy boys because the word madness can as well be attributed to him.

The fact Luffy has the Straw Hat either means Shanks is a marine in this timeline which would also mean Roger is a Marine or Garp is the one who gave it to him and i cant decide which option is funnier.

Sucks that Marine Luffy would never awaken Gear 5 since his mind would never be able to catch up to his Devil Fruit. Unless he quits the marines after someone (probably Akainu) very high up does something he just cannot agree with and that's the catalyst for G5's awakening.

I feel like marine luffy would likely have a similar objective to sabo, wanting to rid the marines of corruption and that ultimately would leave him to the path of fighting the world nobles and imu himself to rid the world of their corruption

Even so, this is a Luffy with YEARS more of training with Haki over ours, plus extensive knowledge of the Six Powers. He definitely isn’t a slouch, that’s for damn sure!

@@celldh0825 I think current Luffy would still beat him due to having a stronger Conqueror's Spirit, more to fight for (his crew) and, well, Gear 5, but it would be a great fight to see. Luffy fighting a Six Powers user that is ACTUALLY on his level hasn't been seen since Lucci (water 7).

Imo, luffy trained by garp would peak even faster but his peak would be less than gear 5. He would never be as free as a marine which is a big part of gear 5. I think he would be above all yonko comandors but never reaching yonko level at least not before his 40's/50's
