    I mean, Revan's story and Anakin's story already rhyme with each other. -Built protocol droids that are improvements on existing schematics. -Lead Jedi into a war while some in their own Order tried to sabotage their efforts. -Claimed a mask and a new name. -Claimed the title of Darth in a two Darth system (the Dark Lord of the Sith and the Shadow Hand; the Rule of Two was based on Revan's teachings to Bane after all) -Was betrayed by counterpart. -Ended up redeeming themselves by defeating that counterpart.

    Not sure which is canon, but there's 2 explanations for the visions. Either Sideous planted them into his dreams, or Anakin was so powerful with the force that he had the ability to see major events in his future. I lean towards the Sidious theory, because it seems too convenient for the plot to rely on his foresight abilities, and not be able to see any other moments besides his mother, and Padme dying. How else do you think Sidious knew to say the line "he could even save the people he loved from dying" if he had not been the only triggering Anakin's fear of loss?

    I'm not familiar with current canon on the origins of the Prophecy of the Chosen One, but I've always interpreted it as something recorded centuries or millenia prior when the Force wasn't so clouded by the Dark Side. That the Prophecy was a Force Vision so detailed or so vague based on it being a glimpse of the far future that it was recorded to be carefully studied and watched out for. The problem seems to be that the Prophecy was made so long ago in relation to the PT that it was seen as more myth than a glimpse of the future, that the apparent defeat of the Sith a millenia prior meant it no longer was valid or had been fulfilled without the Order realizing it.

  • @simonmacomber7466

    @simonmacomber7466

    When Yoda says "impossible the future is to see," he means that the future is impossible to see _right now_. Normally the Jedi _can_ see the future, but, right now, the Jedi can't because the Sith, by merely existing, are limiting their vision. Remember, in later movies Palpatine is able to foresee the events of the Battle of Endor, though he did miss out on a few details. Of course, there is also the possibility that Yoda was simply not that powerful a Jedi and only had his position based on how old he was. Then there is the sequels, which ultimately shit on the whole prophecy in it's entirety, since *none* of the elements of the Prophecy came true.

  • @liferealgood

    @@simonmacomber7466 yea but I remember hearing another story about Jedi Master Sifo Dyas having visions of the future (which is why he contracted the Clone Army) and the Jedi basically telling him that he shouldn’t rely on visions. Something about visions not showing the full picture and not being reliable. This was before the Sith returned. Just probably a bit of continuity issues I guess but we agree about the sequels being an absolute shit show.

    9:59 Here is my only problem with this theory. This battle between Obi wan and Anakin should not end with Obi wan winning. Because this duel will now be delayed 10 years after the dual they were supposed to have in episode 3. Obi wan is now beginning to grow old while Anakin has gotten another 10 years of training. That is double of what he had when he fought Obi in episode 3. so Obi wan should lose this one, he is weaker in this timeline because he’s older when they confront, and Ani is way stronger.

    This is precisely the issue that developed over time within the philosophy of the Jedi. They correctly attribute the root of many consequences to fear, yet many of the policies and decisions they've made in more recent generations are based in fear. They avoid studying, understanding, and coming to terms with certain aspects of the Force because they're afraid of their own vulnerabilities and potential weaknesses - which ultimately leaves them susceptible to it, as Sidious has shown. If you refuse to ever study the techniques of your opponent, you leave yourself vulnerable to the unexpected. It is much easier to comprehend and analyze such things when you are willing to experience them from another's perspective. Everyone must face their own inner darkness to create balance within themselves, or they'll forever be manipulated by it on a subconscious level. I love the Jedi. They're noble, inspiring, and beautiful symbols. But the hubris and inflexibility they eventually descended into, shattered them. I'm glad they're finally getting the chance to evolve, but it would've been so much less painful if they'd taken that path on their own instead of being forced into it with the Purge.

Indeed I admire the philosophy too, but it's the perfect example how somethimg inherently good not handled properly in a systemic way can result in the corruption of the very fundamental principle. Their system got corrupted, their fear towards the Dark side hampered their own philosophy. In the end they became soldiers, using violence to maintain peace. That's what Sidious exploided, and their ignorance, to reach power, manipulate the Senste and eventually provoke the war that built his empire, all sponsored by the Republic and the Jedi. Quite an itneresting parallelism to our own society. Lucas is a genius.

    @@heartoffire5902 I disagree with this. The Jedi fell because Anakin broke every rule the Jedi tried to teach him. If they would have expelled him or just not trained him like the Council wanted, the disaster would have been avoided. You say that Jedi didn't face their inner fears, but this is contradicted by the Clone Wars episode "The Gathering" where younglings have to face their personal fears and failings in order to find their own kyber crystal. And presumably every single Jedi has to do the same thing. It is true that the Jedi fear the dark side, but for good reason. It can completely corrupt even the noblest being. But it is not true that the Jedi never face it or know nothing about it. The Jedi Order in the movies hasn't faced the Sith in 1000 years, so of course they should be rusty, but they are not shown to be incompetent, corrupt, or denial about the threat. Yoda tries to teach Anakin what the dark side is and what leads to it, but he just completely ignores his advice. @J Mondragon The Jedi Order are meant to be the guardians of peace and justice in the galaxy. They don't just sit in their temple doing nothing. Their lightsabers and fighting skills are not for show. They are warriors and they have always been warriors. That's integral part of their very essense. And they don't just do nothing when a Sith lord starts a rebellion and sends droids to devastate worlds. Bad guys don't respect pacifism. I have seen many people constantly say that the Jedi fell because of their own hubris. I even saw people accusing them of corruption. I can't see that personally. The movies and the show constantly portray the Jedi as noble people who do everything they can to stop the Sith, but fail, although the fight was close. If they are meant to be something else, then that's the fault of the movies and the writing. If anything the Sith embody arrogance and hubris. People like Dooku and Anakin started with good intentions but got completely corrupted by the dark side. They tried to change and control the entire galaxy but should have started with themselves.

    If Anakin had been born around 200yr before he was? He'd not only have learned to deal with his emotions - he could have married Padme. Openly. With no need to hide. Sadly Yoda's long life turned the Jedi into what they were during the Skywalker saga. Yoda saw this happening, but he couldn't STOP it. He had been teaching all of the younglings for centuries, and as such they all had some hero worship for Yoda. Thus they tried to _live_ like Yoda... emotions suppressed, chaste with no relationships, etc etc. These were natural to Yoda and Yaddle's species, but _humans_ (and most aliens) simply cannot live like that without, well, exploding. Yoda knew this, and tried to teach the little kids _not_ to do it, but they did anyway. As Yoda became Grandmaster the Jedi Council (with Yoda voting no every time) made rules again marriage, strong emotions, having children, etc. Those rules only came into existence between 100-80BBY.

Anyway the Jedi and the sith have nothing to do with what the living force does. Its all in the lore, im not talking out of my ass about theory here. Also the Jedi started to ignore the visions becoming less connected to the force which is why noone was able to sense that palpatine was right in front of them. Qui-gon was the last Jedi in their sect that could have semsed his evil because he still embraced the force as he was taught to do by Dooku his master.

No singular alteration to the timeline would create a ex-Sith Ronin who hunts other Sith and collects their lightsaber crystals facing off against a Sith Lord with a lightsaber umbrella. He would know that he needed to absolutely hold to a non violence strategy. After Padme died there is no way that Qui Gonn wouldn’t arrive again and reset Anakin on his path. Also, imo there is no way Anakin could fight Obi Wan to the end knowing that he hadn’t ruined his whole life before. I thought about the Jedi Civil War, but I always thought it would be Mace Windu who wound up causing it, not Anakin. It was Mace's idea that the Jedi overthrow the Senate and take its place in order for Sidious to be brought to true justice. Yoda talked Mace down, saying they had to trust the system, arrest Sidious, and hope the Senate can see through the lies. Mace and three masters do try to arrest Palpatine, but he kills three of them and brings Mace to the brink of breaking his vows and killing Sidious when he appears helpless. Only Anakin betraying Mace and cutting his arm off did Sidious get the upper hand. If Anakin just stood there, slack jawed and uncertain what to do, Mace would've killed Sidious. I think that would've torn the Jedi order apart, with Mace becoming a darker version of himself who believed the Jedi knew what's best for the Republic and Yoda leading his own army who still believe democracy is best and the Jedi should merely be anmbassadors of good. I think Mace would get Anakin on his side if, after the death of Sidious, he recognized Anakin as a Master. Mace was always against Anakin and his ideals but, in many ways, Mace's way of thinking matched Anakin's, and if the guy who's been hyper critical of you since you were a boy suddenly realizes you had the right idea and embraces you as an advisor, of course Anakin would jump at the chance.

I don't think it would have been easy for Anakin to recruit other Jedi without arousing the suspicions of the other Masters, however, as they were already on high-alert after the return of the Sith for any Jedi showing "alternative" viewpoints. Ironically, I think the one that has the best chance of converting to Anakin's side is Windu, at least at the flashpoint of Windu vs. Sidious. At that point, Windu was going against both the Jedi order and Republic law. If Anakin sided with him then, there could perhaps be a conversation between two soldiers on how corrupt things had become, and what to do to change it. Windu as a collaborator would be a great smokescreen for Anakin's recruitment.

    I feel like Palpatine would be able to sense that Anakin wasn’t truly on his side. Just like Anakin could sense the conflict between his children. At the very least, I think he should have been on guard for Anakin’s betrayal, and maybe had a brief duel before realizing Anakin was too powerful when leaning into the dark and the light, and he’s then defeated.

    I doubt Anakin would do that, he knows what it's like to be a slave, being stripped of will, the only reason Vader went along with the empire was because he had no choice, he just helped kill a Jedi Master and would executed by either the Jedi or Palpatine, if he didn't join him, leading to Padmè's death, and after he lost to Obi-Wan, he lost everything, his wife, his kids, his order, his mentor, and a huge chunk of his body, in a way Palps was the only one he had left, and despite how much he hates him, he goes along with his ideas, so that he can live to fight another day.

    I love these kind of reimagining theories. I think this one is wholly impossible though. Anakin, if not the whole Galaxy but Anakin in paticular, has been essentially mindtricked by Palpatine since becoming his confidant. Qui gon can't communicate with him because Palpatine has shrouded his mind already. In fact, as suggested Palpatine's mind fog is so powerful it has clouded the entire Jedi council and Senate by the time the first movie has started rolling. Some proof of how influential and pervasive this effect is: -Whenever Palpatine speaks in his sith voice Anakin always obeys, such as when he commands the killing of Count Dooku -When Palpatine attacks Windu's squad of knights he 'screams', but look at the Jedi response: *they don't move at all.* This is because the Jedi rely SOLELY on the force telling them how to move, and Palpatine is exerting his force power to block their ability to communicate with the Force. Meaning he can cut off the force entirely for even highly trained Jedi even if only for a brief few seconds. -Look at how Windu raises his lightsaber when he goes to kill Palpatine. He goes in for a one handed wide swing, a completely illogical and complicated mechanical movement when a thrust would have done just fine. In fact, the whole conversation with Anakin at this point is labored and Windu's stance somewhat out of character and illogical, his face contorted, frustrated and confused: perhaps because of the influence of Palpatine on their emotions(although I also think at this point Palpatine may be relaxing his usage because he wants Anakins reaction to be authentic, so the psychotic break it causes in him is total. Or perhaps he is influencing and clouding the mind of Windu, but not Anakin)Again, immediately following the death of Windu Palpatine speaks to Anakin and names him Vader all while speaking in his 'sith voice': he is actively manipulating the now shattered psyche of Anakin using the Force. The truth is, the game was rigged from the start. The only complication to Palpatine's foresight and scheming was Luke, and perhaps the Jedi Ghosts, culminating ultimately in Anakin himself actually fulfillinghis role in the prophecy by rejecting the darkness inside of himself in the end. Or perhaps gaining ultimate control came at the cost of losing the subversive power his prior clandestine approach had afforded him. Nevertheless, it seems to me that until this point everything went as Palpatine foresaw and desired and there was very little chance of any deviation. *edit I should add that all of these assertions are based solely off the movies, excluding any movie made post Revenge of the Sith. As an aside I feel pretty confident Palpatine would never make clones of himself because A) he seems to already hold the Dark side power of eternal life and B) would likely not suffer another version of himself running around or to continue his legacy. Even as a sort of body transplant system, I feel his confidence in his foresight would cause him to disregard such action as wholly unecessary.

    Some inconsistencies with this theory: The senate don't know the difference between sith and Jedi, so they would see Palpatine as a Jedi attempting to take over. Furthermore Anakin killing the chancellor would cause outrage, and anti Jedi resentment. This would likely mean that an order 66 like order would happen, maybe not in the form of a purge but something similar. Also because Anakin becomes a grey Jedi it's possible he learns new techniques so the battle of the duel of fates between Anakin and Obiwan would turn very differently
