What about the scripture that says we should not be unevenly yoked with unbelievers? I don’t think it’s wise to go into a marriage if you both aren’t Christians. However like the example Stephanie gave, if we have unsaved friends - both male and female, we can encourage them to come to know Jesus as Savior and Lord by the way we interact with them in love and patience, and especially praying for them. Marriage has enough challenges on its own. Don’t make it extra hard by going into it if one of you is saved and the other is not. What does the Word say? Lastly, if you find yourself in that situation once you are married, continue to pray for your unsaved spouse and walking in love, believing that they will get saved - especially if the unsaved spouse wants to stay married.

It is GOD that yokes people together, not religion. He knows the TRUE nature of a person's heart, not man. Take Queen Ester, for example, God NEEDED her in that position to save HIS people. King Ahasuerus wasn't a Jew/Hebrew, Ester was even told to hide her identity from everyone. So we can't box the Lord up, HE knows the plans He has for us, plans to prosper us, and not to harm us. He knew these plans BEFORE we were formed in our mother's womb. And it is HIS plans that will prevail. We simply must go to Him for our role and TRUST that our Father, our Creator, knows what is best for us🙏🏾🙏🏾🙏🏾

I love this. The dangers of being married to an unbeliever are too high, because the unsaved spouse needs to show willingness. My parents are married for more than 40 years. My dad hasn't changed and he is not interested in getting saved. He says he believes in cultural customs. He even knows that as his kids, we don't wish to have a marriage like theirs. He is so hard- headed.

I can’t even imagine how anyone who is truly saved can go into a marriage with an unbeliever! I think the elephant in the room are those individuals who claim to live and walk by faith but are actually walking in deception. People claim God said but it was really “I want…”. True faith does not covenant with the *unlikeness of God.

The question is: if you are a woman dating someone who claims to be a Christian but is not, what to do? Hmmm... the answer in this Clip for me was not clear enough. I prefer what a commenter said in here: do not be unequally yoked. Let's keep it plain and simple. We, single women of God, have no business dating a man who has no relationship with God.

I agree. I didn't know about being unequally yoked until it was said straight from the bible. It's dangerous being unequally yoked as a believer. This should have been clearly stated as you shared. Encouraging video nonetheless.

We are supposed to both lead people to Christ and reflect Christ to them. Its contradictory to say in one breath to be careful who you are married to so you are submitting to a fool, then also downplay the person's walk with Christ. One who is not submitted to Christ will make foolish decisions. No daughter of Zion will be at peace submitting to that type of leader. We need to stick with the word and not mix in worldly idealogies.

It isn’t contradictory because shes addressing two different groups of women: she saying if you are saved, don’t marry someone who is unsaved. However, some people only become saved after they are already married. In that case, the saved person shouldn’t missionary date, but the Christian who gets saved later shouldn’t manipulate. It’s consistent with the Apostle Paul’s teachings.

I strongly agree, Do Not marry un equally yoke! It is written! Being in a marriage, submitting, being an example, praying for that spouse’s salvation can be long, lonesome, horrible walk!!! I wouldn't want anyone to go through! The marriage ended in a Divorce,Ihonored God and my marriage,God honored and blessed me(my children honored and respected me to the utmost) and so does their father. That was 16years ago,a person has to want something for them self,Not to say it won’t ever happen! Our God is Able! I am a true respecter of his timing! I am so Grateful to Our Lord, for him rescueing me! Ladies/Men date and collect your data!!! For you that are already in it,God is in the mist of everything, let him guide you,his will shall be done make sure you stay in your walk cause we are held accountable as individuals!! He’s an Awesome God!!! Live,Learn,Forgive,Love, and Share!

2nd Corinthians 6:14 Do not be unequally yoked with unbelievers . For what partnership has righteousness with lawlessness? Light with darkness?

And those who become born again AFTER they are already married? She needs to appeal to the reality of her audience’s spiritual condition.

@Ad-Lo I think Christians have this idea that people can't become Christians post marriage and that it is possible for a Christian to no longer want to be a Christian even though the couple were Christians before marriage. This is a reality a lot of people don't think about and refuse to accept. Unfortunately, it's not grounds for divorce. It's something the couple have to work through

Where in the Bible does it say that, “marriage is your first ministry”?
