what I've came up with for the hot start issues on 550xp seems to work for me

That is how I hot start mine too ... and I've never had a problem once I figured it out. Also, when you first start cold, I always let the auto tune have a few seconds at high idle to figure itself out before blipping the throttle to release the high idle. They are a little different that the non auto tune saws. But, like you said, once you know the trick, they start every time.

I've never run a 550 but with my 562 when I go to use it I'll just do a field reset on the AT system. Then for restarts when she's hot I'll mash the purge bulb a few times and she starts 1st pull (without having to put her on fast idle).

My mark II starts hot with a single pull! I can make a video on it if really wanted but I sure think it would be the auto tune, I think you have to let it idle for two minutes after the auto tune is “set” I never “set” mine but it runs great 👍🏼 the videos are great 👊🏼

That’s the reason I sold my 572. Fast idle was the only way it would start with one pull once it was warmed up and every once in awhile it would still take 2-3. All around good saw for the money just wish Husqvarna had a real fix for this issue.

Yep, got rid of my 572 for the same reason. Quite often it wouldn’t start back up at all. I was a diehard Husky guy prior to that saw lol

I thought Husqvarna was supposed to have fixed this hot restart issue on all their new mark 2 saw's but apparently not. Was the biggest complaint on a lot of the mark 1's seems half were fine would restart one pull then the rest you would have to set high idle to restart and then some just wouldn't restart at all. And yes the mark 1 owner's manual's on all early 500 series tell you to set the high idle to hot restart, mark 2 manual I have no idea have not looked at one yet.

Its Ported so hot start issue could be a porting symptom

@@Witschor A good chance yes, in that vane it probably has much to do with the AT keeping up with fuel "mapping" so to speak when at running temp's. Those huge duel muffler port's are moving a lot of air through a small cylinder so it has to try and recalibrate or overcome it. One thing's for sure always fun watching Charles pushing the limit's with his build's.

I have a 141 that won’t start when it’s hot no matter what you try. Been trying to figure it out for 20 years

You should try and let it idle abou 5 sec before You shut it off; a common mistake that most people do that interferres with the Autotune.

You would be surprised how many people have these saws and dont know to use fast idle for hot starts. The dealers dont tell the customers about it at all and no one reads a manual. A couple of my buds have them and didnt know about it, I seen it on another youtube channel I watch a few years ago and let them know.

@@nseric1233 I agree, most people don't read the manual and most dealers are not up to speed with the auto tune technology enough to educate their customers. This fast idle hot start procedure works great. Also giving the purge bulb a couple of pumps to pull cooler fuel up to the carb along with the high idle helps with a hot restart. The calibration reset procedure is also a big help when the weather has change dramatically from the last time the saw was run or you if you did a port job, muffler mod or a pipe.
