Husqvarna 562XP Hot Start and Mods

Ойын-сауық

Hey all! Here's a video of some things we have done to the Husqvarna 562XP to make it run better. Some of the mods impacted the performance more noticeably than others. I, however, do not care to run a 562xp without all the mods mentioned here, as well as some not mentioned, light weight bar, different oils, etc.
I suppose I better say that I am not responsible for your saw or what happens to it, so any mods you choose to do are done at your own risk. :) These are simply tricks that have worked well for me, and I share with you some of the journey.
mweba link mentioned in the video, he has some other cool videos too, so check em out! • Husqvarna 562xp 555 f...
The surprise cutting session at 7:12 is rather boring, but the purpose is to let you see the saw get hot, sit in the sun for a bit, and then start back up again with no hassle.
I have sporadic internet right now, but I will get back with you as soon as I can if you leave a comment. Be sure to like, subscribe, and comment. Thanks for watching!

Good video. I have had my 562xp for a year now and it's the best saw I have ever had. It rips. No problems like you mention. I deal with a lot of Stihl dealers and they all seem to run husqy now.

@@jsource10 Their smaller saws seem pretty good. Their bigger saws need some updates. That sucks about your dealers. I pretty much do all my own work, so I don't worry too much about local support. My newest saw is a Dolmar/Makita, and there is no such dealer anywhere close by.

It was probably getting vapor lock. If it sits in the sun for a period of time after running, the gas in the tank will boil if you open it. I was cutting with my ms 660 and ms 360 and it was hot and I had been cutting some hard hickory and the tanks were getting empty, so I opened them up to refill them and the remaining gas puked all over the saw. I fill d them back up with cool gas and they cranked back up.

All u need for hot start issues is a new primer bulb and to open ur gas cap and let pressure out. Thats it. All ive ever had to do. My 562 has been the absolute best saw ive ever owned.

Glad that worked for you! Maybe Husqvarna shipped some saws with bad purge bulbs? That was our thoughts anyways. We tried the gas cap trick first with no luck... The boss has had much better luck with Echo, at least for smaller saws. I went with a Dolmar/Makita, very happy with it.

Makita/Dolmar is a good saw. But husky has alot more power. Idk what year you had but i do know that you can buy a box of 100 purge bulbs and 50 will be bad. So that is one issue. While also the older firmware from the first few models was fairly new so they were working out kinks. Ive not had an issue with any of the new ones. No issues at all. They update firmware once ever 6 months to a year. Even the newest firmware adds power and torque. Also new top covers are vented. I forgot to mention that. Husky fixed that issue as well. Stihl has gone to hell with the new emmission standards. I don't sell them anymore because i got tired of every single one of them having engine issues within a month. Holes in pistons, running too lean, detonation etc. Avoid stihl until epa lays off or they introduce fuel injection to all of them.

I just bought my 562XPW today bought the 24” Sugi Hara bar and the C 85 X Cut chains. Its a 2019 model year I’m hoping that Husqvarna worked out the kinks, I still hear the air filter seal is not good I was thinking about using an O ring or soft draft tape, I see some grease the area before putting on the air filter and some say use oil spray too on the filter, wish they had gone with the center screw car like filter on the 572XP seems far more up to date. Anyway she sure does look fantastic new especially with the Sugi lol. Thanks guys.

Yes I noticed that it builds up tank pressure, which could cause it to flood if left to stand. I changed the metering diaphragm on my 560 (see my video.), as the old one had gone very stiff and was either on or off, with no suppleness left in the rubber. This could have been caused by using ethanol fuel.

Thanks for watching! If I remember, the purge bulb is on the return side, so it doesn't seem to interfere with the flow to the carb. Starts back from empty fairly easily, almost like an old saw. Starts from cold nicely too. It was cold in this video, hadn't been used for at least a day. Nice thing is if it doesn't seem to work you can easily stick the bulb right back! You should hear it now! It spit the plug out and is parked... In the 90s it seems like you have to do the half choke dance to get it going after a break or fill up. I am done with Husqvarna for now. Out of 6 saws only 2 are still going strong. The 390 and 372.

@@janethbailey1085 I don't remember for sure, but I think 50:1 is the recommended mixture. We run 40:1 in the work saws, and the new Husqvarnas still are a pain to get going once hot. The 550 is even worse than the 562 in that aspect, at least ours are. I suspect a lot of the problem is that they are so compact that there's a lot of heat transfer from the cylinder to the air box. I'm curious to know if 25:1 helps. I would think the heat and humidity are about the same between the Philippines and Missouri? I bet the 3120 works perfectly...
