@@Thor-Orion It always pisses me off when slackjawed morons say that Heath won the Oscar out of pity. That is one of the most insulting things I’ve ever heard. His role as the Joker will be studied in film schools for hundreds of years.
@Thor-Orion

@@YogsenForfoth I never said he won it out of pity. The performance is amazing, but the Academy Awards are a super pretentious self-congratulation fest. There’s typically a strong anti-comic book movie sentiment which often prevents deserving candidates from being seriously considered for awards that they should be in the running to win simply because the movie is based on a graphic novel iP. I’m not entirely sure if you’re implying that I’m a “slack jawed moron” for pointing this fact out, but someone deserving an award seldom guarantees that they’ll win it. Val Kilmer didn’t win the AA for his portrayal of Doc Holiday and that performance will be studied in acting schools for as long as acting schools continue to exist. These awards are all about Hollywood politics, it’s not insulting to point out the truth, anyone who feels insulted by the truth lives in a fantasy world.

Maybe you don't remember, or you're just too young, but part of the reason they're specifically like that with Heath is because right after his death, ALL of the news articles and entertainment articles were peddling this false narrative that he was insanely depressed and some were even floating the idea that he committed suicide and that he had gone too method with the Joker role when that wasn't the case at all. Paul Bettany alludes to it in this video here.

I was the key costumer on Brokeback and looked after all the cast on set. Heath loved acting but hated the publicity machine that went around after the movie promoting it. He just wanted to shoot the movie and move on. His dream was to direct and knew his path there was through his roles on film. Ironically in this clip the winter scene with Michelle was the very first thing we shot in pre-production. The sled hit a bump and they flew in the air with Heath landing on Michelle and hurt her leg. She ended up on crutches and almost recast!! What a different movie that would have been.

Why are people so damn obsessed with seeing Ledger as a tormented soul? With some I get it, because it seems to be wanting a representative for the people who shine and warm others even while having so much inner turmoil, but others are just clearly obsessed with trying to rewrite the man's life for their own fucked up preferences, against all evidence, and to absolutely ZERO BENEFIT.

I learned about another young man who committed suicide recently. Kellie Pickler’s husband, Kyle Jacobs. Also an artist and has a similar story to Twitch’s and his wife’s. Matilda. Heath and Michelle’s daughter’s name is Matilda. I’ve been thinking about that name/movie quite a lot lately. MATILDA was the first movie my oldest daughter watched when she was little I believe and we watched it quite a lot, which is unusual. I liked it quite a lot, too.
