Gotta be in 4 low for the e locker to work, there also is a “grey wire mod” on some of the old stock Tacoma lockers that makes it so you can engage anytime, might be worth looking into

Hubs lock out the front axel, e locker in a trd truck is for the rear.. I’m not sure what you are talking about

For the locker to engage you have to be in 4 low

The E locker in the Toyota it’s supposed to only work in transfer case low but can be grounded to work anytime. I made mine work anytime including 2 Wheel Dr.

If that Toyota has a locker button..... it’s an electric locker. They work. Sometimes they freeze up If not use it all the time. Unbolt it spray it with WD-40 and wire brushed it all up slap it back together there are videos on KZread how to diagnose them it’s just an electric motor that bolts to the axle housing

As long as it has brake lights, headlights, and turn signals I don’t think there are any problems with it driving. A cop would probably try to pull it over to find something wrong though.

Never weld the front diff, you cant steer for shit. I have air lockers and only lock the front to get over a hard obstacle, I get over it and immediately unlock the front because you cant steer. Although you boys are back east where its always slippery, so it might not be that bad, and the rear e-locker on a Toyota only works in 4-low unless you mod it
