I started with 10 daily, then 12... in the span of 3 weeks I am already doing 60 a day, resting every 4-5. Even today I broke the 60 barrier. I hope to be doing 100 in 10 days or so. It is all about starting with something doable and then increase at your own pace.

When I was 25, I got up to 120. One set of that in the morning and another in the evening. I started only being able to do 20, but did as many sets as I could one day with short breaks between each set until I couldn't do even one. I took a week-long break to let the muscle soreness disappear, then started my twice-daily routine. Each week, I increased the set size by five, sometimes spending two weeks at a set size, but always eventually increasing until I peaked at 120. Unfortunately, I stopped for a long time, mostly owing to getting a physical job that often left me very tired at the end of the day. 17 years later, I can only manage maybe 30-40 at once.

I started off doing 100 a day but just breaking it into many different sets of 10-20 reps throughout the day. Then I was able to do 25-30 per set. I continued doing 100 daily and I started doing a little more than 100 because I was doing 30+ reps and realized it was getting easy. Then it just became a daily routine and it makes me feel good and gives me a pump. It got to the point before I went out in public I would sneak off to the bathroom just to do pushups and get a pump lol

I started off by barely being able to do 20 push-ups till failure, but I've been able to place myself during training to train the proper parts of my upper body in the proper way. Now, I'm able to do 85 in 1 set without rests, and use that as a monument to do other crazy challenges; my most recent one being 350 reps in under 50 minutes. Little things like this are what will take some of us to the point of high level calisthenics.

Also, by "cheat" I mean doing a proper pushup, sagging butt, arms at 90 degree angle etc. When I push myself I tend to get sloppy is what I meant.

Biceps engage during pushups...but not on the bench pess. If you do 100 push ups a day, you probably won’t see any results because you don’t give your muscles enough time to recover. Your muscles take a lot of time to repair themselves. It’s better if you do 100 push ups every 2 days, and it’s also better if you do more complicated variations of push ups if you’ve already mastered the normal push up and can do at least 20 at once.

I am doing 17 Push ups times 5 per day at the moment, I retired at 63 and I am 69 now. My neighbor at the back of my home had an accident and I went over the wall easily due to adrenaline, but struggled to get back over the 6 foot wall and realized that I had lost a lot of my strength. That has galvanized me to become strong again, so for the last 12 days I have been exercising like mad. I ordered weights that will arrive in 2 days as well as protein powder. Sometimes one must just bite the bullet and get on with it.

When I starting basic in the army we had a sergeant that the first day made us do 5 pushups before bed, then at waking up, then before breaksfast, after and so on, the thing is that every week he asked for 1 extra pushup, at the end of basic we were doing 54 pushups and it really worked, we really saw the improvement and there were some that just by the normal exercise and those pushups were able to do a 100 in a row so I think more than doing a 100 in set is doing a little but progressing every week.

I barely even reach 10 when I started. But after 2 months (home routine), I can do 60 in one set as I wake up. In the night before going to sleep, do 30 push ups, then jog for 25 mins, then another 30 push ups then go to sleep. I am a skinny guy and after my home regimen, my endurance increased, my muscles in the upper body gained mass, I don't get tired easily even after a whole day of work. It works wonder. Just start slow and steady. Your goal is to increase the number of push up you can do every day.

The answer in my case is not a lot, I train callisthenics and do well over 1000 push-ups a week as well as all the other training - burpees, pull ups, sit ups and many others and I see hardly any change in my body - I’ve been doing this 5 times a week for 2 years. I look good, but not ANYTHING like the people you see in these KZread and instagram channels. At the end of the day everybody has different genetics, some people benefit greatly, others won’t. Still, keep grinding it’s all good for your mental health. Follow Iron Wolf - That’s the training I do for reference. And you can see even with that MACHINE of a human, his body isn’t anything compared to the influencers out there.

You would be surprised how the body responds to consistent, calisthenics over a long period of time combined with proper diet and nutrition--even as you age. Two years ago I couldn’t do one pull-up and now I can easily do three sets of 10. Worked my way up using bands. Push-ups were the same going from one set of 10 to three slow sets of 100 total. Core workout is the same. I didn’t think an older man could see this kind of progress. I truly believe the key is a continuous, habitual program. Simple but consistent… adding a few reps as you go. Body weight exercises are overlooked as a fantastic way to gain strength and definition. Of course diet is a big part.

Doing 100+ pressups and situps a day (along with dumbbells) dramatically improved my chest and arms over the past 10 months. I'd been doing bench press, squats, and deadlifts in the gym for a couple years before, running too, so I was already looking quite athletic (as I have to some degree since childhood) but this bodyweight stuff, and critically, committing to it over a long period, really changed my body shape for the better. Chest much fuller, shoulders wider, back wider (dumbbell rows help with this), arms thicker, striatus clearly showing, abs coming through more, especially when I flex. These changes were clear even after one month. It was surprising how much my body changed. My body seems to respond much more to consistent bodyweight and dumbbells exercises than heavier barbell ones. I can do about 30 pressups maximum in one go. Situps with proper form about 50 maximum. I do 2 sets of pressups followed by one of situps five times in 40 minutes to an hour. Pressups went well over 100 total per workout after about 1 month. Generally fluctuates around 125 to 160 per workout. Maximum was 165. I do not do it everyday, that lasted about 14 days, before going to every other day or so, but the improvement in body shape and strength continued.

@@aasifshaik6356: The best push-up I would recommend for you, would be the Wide Hands Push-Up. This type of push up mainly focuses your chest rather than your arms and shoulders. Place your hands in a wider position, about double shoulder-width apart, puts more of the focus on your chest area rather than shoulders and arms. I don’t think you’ll have to worry about getting bigger hands because push ups won’t do that. You’ll just increase your pushing strength as well as getting the chest you want. Hope this helps.
