It is the same with organic, unrefined/untempered with sugar (preferably eaten raw so as not to denature or destroy life-forms and enzymes beneficial to the system) that is not the problem, but the refined/bleached white sugar (cells need glucose for energy production). At noon, I eat a big salad, a hard boiled egg or two, an ounce or two of cheese, pickled peppers (bananas or peppercini, or stuffed olives. I eat supper between 5 and 8pm depending on how what time I get home. I’ll eat cheese burgers, steaks, chicken, veggies, cheese, Pizza, etc. Super low carb. No bread or deep fried. (I slip once in a while and have a bite of bread or pizza crust but never indulge. Never and deep fried stuff.) I was diagnosed with type 2 in early March. I prayed for wisdom from the Good Lord and one of Dr. Berg’s videos popped up in my feed. 3.5 months later, Ive went from a 4xl tall to a 2xl tall shirt!!! Can’t tell you pounds because I don’t weigh myself. When I was at the doctor in March, I was 404. I’m 6’4” tall and look like a football player. I’ll be 50 next year. When I can get to the gym before work, I keep it simple. 15 minutes on the treadmill and 15 minutes of light weights with high reps, but have not been in 3 weeks and the fat is coming off still. I’ve prayed for a new mindset when it comes to food. I love good food, but now I have to look at carbs like they are poisonous to my body. My sugar used to average 250ish. Now it’s around 110ish. Cancer diagnosis was a wake up call on how to handle food choices. My appetite left anyway during chemo so I lost weight. I realized how much better I felt losing all that weight, so I loved being able to like myself better. Lol 😂 for the first time I realized it was fun to be thin and wear smaller clothes sizes. I realized I dont need to eat the wrong foods. Besides that, I was so ashamed of my weight the first visit to the cancer center seeing all those thin nurses and handsome doctors, it was actually quite embarrassing 🙈 walking around looking fat! I decided Iam never being fat ever again!! You cant always hide from the rest of the world lol. I was always taking care of my kids and I just gave up on my own appearance and health thinking it didnt really matter because nobody ever saw me anyways so I pretty much just gave up on myself. So now they think Iam cancer free, a year 1/2 later, and my type 2 diabetes is gone. You never know when you might need the help of others, so never give up on your own care. Life has a way of pulling the security rug right out from under you. 😳😱😂 Going without food enough to control weight, is not hard. Eat small, eat clean, and eat one small protein meal a day around 2 or 4 in the afternoon. Then turn out the kitchen light 💡 lolol and go to bed! And dont dream about food 🤣🤣🤣 ( you CAN do it! )

Off bread cakes cookies. Down from 225lbs to 195 lbs in about 6 weeks. I am diabetic type 2 insulin resistant. I went from 8 to 10 overnight blood sugar readings to 4.5 to 5.5. Daily readings are now in low 5's from 7 and 8's. Post meal 10 plus. At my worst I was a size 40 pant now easily in a size 32 and shrinking. Not bad for a non-native 66 year old male. I now eat 2 meals a day intermittent fast and the occasional all day fast. May need to go Keto to get the rest of the weight off. 6 ft 195 lbs shooting for 175. You are part of my essential health network. I rely on you for understanding the science. If I understand cause and effect its been easier to move into life change dieting. The pounds stay off. Life is very good. I can now throw out bad medical advice that said its genetic get use to it. Now I have tools to manage life issues that have been part of my life for 20 years. I, myself have lost 16kg through low carb, intermittent fasting with added walking, so I can advocate this to be effective! I am amazed at the difference between the commercially available bread in the US vs the rest of the world. I'm in Australia and on my trips to North America, I notice the American bread to be closer to cake than the bakery bread we get here. I make my own bread. Flour, water, salt. That's it. And I don't eat a huge amount of it..... The flour is certified organic, chemical free, non GMO, and an old world variety that was used before the 1950s. I was just wondering if a lot of these symptoms are caused by the hidden additives and the over-consumption of processed foods rather than the base foods themselves....

All I ate was a ton of eggs, fish, nuts, seeds, fruit and pressed juice (Sorry, keto folks), some leafy greens + certain diaphragm breathing exercise every day. Hello Dr Berg thanks for all your videos. I have been on various diets over the years nothing spcific. At first I cut down on sugars. It was difficult but now when I look at sweet stuff in shops I dont even look twice!! I then cut down on rice pasta and potatoes..made me lose weight and then finally bread. I love wholemeal wheat bread with seeds. I stopped eating this too and I lost more weight!! Feeling great at 56 years!!

I was always in pain, especially in my legs. They would stiffen up and I would have to stretch them before I could walk. Five days after I stopped eating bread, all the pain suddenly disappeared. I was so much more flexible. I was stunned at the result. It was totally unexpected. Now I never have any trouble with my legs unless I over exert them.

I've been watching and slowly starting changing my eating habits over the past 6 months, its been a life changer. As a tradesman for 30 years my joints have been so much better. At the end of the day I have so much more energy. Been doing 16 to 18 hour fasts and finally finished my first 24 hour tonight. As a man in his 50s I wish I would have found Dr. Berg sooner. I appreciate your information very much!

😂 I agree. I'm here thinking just what exactly constitutes bread? It's literally in almost every meal. Sandwiches, burritos, burgers, fajitas, spaghetti? Do noodles constitute as bread? Chicken alfredo, pancakes, waffles, French toast, Pizza... I will literally have to learn a new way of eating. I am considering it but it's going to be a challenge

Dr. Berg. I just came across this beautiful channel yesterday itself, and have been binge watching ever since. What I want to ask is there's a lot of mention of refined sugar, refined oil etc in your videos. Can you make a separate video on this refined foods aspect, especially sugar and oil? I know there are a lot of videos on the topic on KZread, but I feel your is the most authentic content.

I don’t feel that I am ready for that change just now. 4 weeks on intermittent 20/4 seems like enough changes plus trying to add more vegetables/ salads to my diet. Don’t have brain fog and moods swing or bloating issues. A bagel or bread roll in a day will not change much for me. I am enjoying looser fit clothes and drinking more water than before. Trying to keep myself in moderation. Long way to go to my target weight, but Rome wasn’t built in one day😊
