Can you exercise or do physical work during your fast? I do tree work for a living and hit the gym sometimes. I’m pretty low on my bmi too maybe spot on it so I don’t want to lose too much weight or muscle during the fast, also don’t know what I can and can’t do exercise wise. Closest I’ve been to doing a fast is at times when I’ve went cold turkey on smoking weed and am detoxing and lose my appetite all together which lasts for 2/3 days. I’m vegan as well I don’t eat the healthiest but I’m in amazing shape right now. Also when does the fast start, as soon as you eat your last meal? Also is there any way you want to eat specifically for when you do eat your last meal?Any advice would be great!

Because God is a spirit, he had to come down to earth in Human form to not only relate to us on our level, but to show us how to overcome the various obstacles as humans. The unblemished sacrificial lamb did this out of LOVE for mankind. He is the way, the truth, and the light, and no one can go to the father, except through him. This is Bible. FYI to everyone commenting, yet not understanding Fasting. A 3 day Water Fast means you eat nothing and only drink water for 3 days. FYI Electrolytes are extremely important during prolonged fasting, which is what a 3-Day water fast is. I've gone 11 days water and electrolytes only. Some people do 30 days. Fasting helped cure my night urination, snoring, skin tags, gout or whatever was going on with my ankle, acne, fatty liver, low Testosterone, mood, memory issues....the list goes on. Pills from Dr's mostly cover up the main issue of too much sugar, bad diet, and overeating. Fasting will actually CURE your body. Been doing this for 3 years... And I feel better than I did in my 40's.

I just completed a 40 day fast. Beginning with a 3 day water fast. 2 weeks of the Daniel Fast - Fruits/Veggies/Fish only and after sunset. Then intermittent the rest of the way through lent. Currently doing a 18/6 fast and started hypertrophy training. The results have been hard to comprehend. My body cleared itself of junk almost immediately. I woke up energized. Sleep was better. Mood way better. Brain sharp. Went off all medications. Symptoms that plagued me for years gone. Craving for sugars gone. Zero desire to eat fast food. Fruit tastes like dessert. 196 lbs at 5'8 at 19% BF to 160lbs with about 9% BF. Much more to list. Bottom line for me. Is this is the secret to longevity. Detach from the food of the world and dive into the food from God. I prayed the entire time at least 3 times daily. Spiritually you will also be cleansed. 🙏✝️❤️

I’m 61 years old and I’m three hours away from completing my first three day fast. There have been some challenges along the way. On day one I had a headache most of the day. Day two, headache gone, and I was able to go on a vigorous 45 minute walk and do a 25 minute resistance training workout (although with very little energy). At around the 40 hour point I was feeling very weak and lightheaded, but I pushed through. On day three I went for another vigorous 45 minute walk and near the end of it I did a short sprint to make a traffic light. I literally thought I was going to pass out at that point. Hunger pains have come and gone, but I would say it’s not an issue. I think about eating quite often, but it’s probably because I have too much time on my hands(retired). Feeling great right now and looking forward to a small steak dinner tonight.

In 2016, I did my first 40 days fast no food, precisely: water for 30 days than the last 10 days water and coconut water. Every morning a mug of plain green tea. The first week was challenging, every time I felt hunger or simply wanted to eat, I reached for water and that helped. After a week, no more hunger pain, no more desire to eat, high energy, clarity of mind. The last 10 days were challenging, thats why I introduced coconut water for electrolytes and energy as I kept working through it all as a support worker for people with disability. I was amazed at how much energy I had. I lost 16 Kgs (I was overweight, so that was a bonus). In preparation for the 40 fast, 2 to 3 months before I stopped all sugars, ate lots of vegies, green vegies smoothies, soups, stopped dairy and gluten. My motivation was to do a spiritual fast: prayers and fasting. The health benefits were a bonus. When I broke my fast, I reintroduce food very very slowly, first soup only for a few days and small amount at a time. Than green smoothie and some fruits, than vegies and everything else but slowly and in small amount. I kept on being discipline for a few months than sadly got back into my bad habits and regain most of the weight. In 2017, I had terrible gums issues out of no where...painful , bleeding and could not even brush my teeth, so I decided to do an other 40 days fast, this time for health reasons. My gums issues stopped and healed, lost some more weight, but I did not break my fast properly, ate too much nuts and ended up with my legs bloated (fluid retention I think); it took a few months to get better. In 2018, 2019, 2020, I did 40 days fast every year. In 2019 got away from an abusive relationship and than I went into menaupose in 2020 (I was 49 years old than) and had very bad symptoms, lost my sleep, massive hot flushed, emotions all over the place...and kept eating sugar like there were no tomorrow...resuls: put back 30 Kgs.... I can not get myself to even fast for a day at the moment... I've been to a naturopath for the past 2 years and praise God, no more hot flushes, starting to sleep more up to 6 hours, waking up every 2 hours still. I lost 8 Kgs but still eat too much of the wrong type of food for me. I'm learning one day at a time...I miss fasting but one day at a time with God's help I'll get my health back once again🙏 God bless you🙏 Corinne Ps: not sure why I felt like sharing my fasting journey...maybe its helping me heal talking about it and maybe it might help someone.

I'm 71 years old and very healthy really. No medical issues and other than being on HRT due to a hysterectomy at age 30 that's all the medicines I take. I started a keto diet 2 and a half years ago and consistently do daily intermittent fasting with occasional 24, 48 or 72 hour fasting which tend to go to 84 because I don't like to break the fast late in the evening and go straight to bed. I have lost 20 pounds and maintain at about 120 to 123. Every now and then I lose my bearings and eat a few sinful foods and then I jump back in to my more disciplined self to stay on track. I avoid anything with sugar or foods that are refined. The result has been some weight loss, less inflammation in my joints and I think I have a clearer mind. I have always been full of energy so that doesn't seem to be an issue. It just feels good to stay healthy without a total deprivation of good foods. Thank you for sharing all this knowledge.

I did a three day distilled water fast (drinking from a copper vessel in order to structure the water) in 2020. The first day I felt hunger, but day 2 and 3 I did not. On the 3rd day I definitely felt the lack of electrolytes after going on a long walk, so next time I fast I will definitely have some sea salt starting day 2. It was a beautiful experience. In addition to fasting I took it easy, did not work (lockdowns helped in that sense) and meditated often. I became very spiritually aware. When I played guitar in a park all the birds began to sing in harmony with what I was playing. During one meditation a hummingbird came to me and hovered in front of my face for a long time, then would go back and forth amongst the trees watching me the whole time. During another meditation I reached a point of no thoughts and entered another dimension, similar to what Eleven in Stranger Things goes to. In this black room a hideous orange goblin appeared behind me and reached out to touch me. Right before it made contact, my upstairs neighbor opened her sliding door. Her hair was the same color as the goblin. It was as if I saw her spirit.

Just completed my 3 day water fast and I feel great. The hunger really subsided at the end of day 2. Water with some sea salt helped with light headaches. It's now been 3 days since I broke the fast, and I notice I am no longer starving when I wake up and my gut feels much healthier. I think it was important to break the fast gently with avocado, soup and other soft light foods. My mind feels a bit clearer. I also got in the habit of going to bed earlier to avoid getting hungry at night, and this led me to wake up earlier and go to bed earlier consistently, which is a great perk for anyone who wants to be more productive. Thanks for the advice Dr. Sung.

Just completed my first 3 day fast and I am def incorporating this into my lifestyle it was great. I’m excited about the life changing benefits and will definitely be sharing with my family and friends. TIPS: 1. Do it with someone else. Much easier when you have someone else along with you for the challenge 2. Stay full! Drink the water before being hungry. When you do get hungry go do something and it will occupy your mind. The hunger will go away. 3. We are used to just thinking we have to eat at certain times because we are used to doing it. We don’t. Mind over matter! 4. Start the evening before! You will knock almost half your time out for the 1st day by the time you wake up. For instance, I started 8pm on Sunday so then I could be done Wed at 8pm vs waiting until Monday and having to go the whole 3 days and not finishing until the next dayThursday.

Last week I did the full 3 days of just water only for the first time in my life. I got thru all three days relatively easy and honestly I felt great! I had more energy and mind clarity. I thought it was something everyone just said but it's true! I've never felt better in my life. On day 4 I ate home made bone broth soup for breakfast ( first time making it and it was Delicious! Put the bones in a Crock-Pot with onions and seasonings and let it cook on low for 20 hours) and added broccoli, mushrooms and bell peppers to make it a veggie soup for lunch/dinner. I didn't do it for weight loss purposes but I lost 14 pounds in one week! ( I am over weight).I loved the way I still feel so much so that I'm doing it again this week. I'm actually on day 2 and I was even able to walk 2 miles yesterday and 4 miles today because I had so much energy! I have no side effects. I'm happy I stumbled upon this video, ESPECIALLY because I know what's happening on the inside of my body and my insides thank me for giving it a break from unhealthy daily eating.

I did a 3 day water fast, just ended today. The first two days I sipped water maybe equivalent to 16 ounces a day, the third day I did a dry fast no water at all. The first day I was a little hungry, the second day I felt great and was not hungry, the third day I was feeling amazing and had a good amount of energy, to the point I didn’t miss my daily cup of black coffee. I had to make myself eat something after 84 hours of fasting. I experienced almost exactly what is stated in this video. My brain clarity was great. I did do a slow walk for 45 minutes a day. I lost 6.5 lbs in 3 days. The negative thing that I experienced was a nasty taste in my mouth that started on the second day, but the benefits out weighed that awful taste in my mouth. I had been wanting to do a 7 day water fast for about a year but i have a very physically demanding job. God opened up an opportunity for me, i got laid off from work and ended up doing a 177 hour water fast! It was amazing! For whatever reason day 6 i was wiped out. Probably because i was still lifting weights everyday. I probably should have toned it down on the heavy lifting. But after knocking out the 7 day fast, 2 and 3 day fasts became much easier. Not sure what the deal is but the last few day ive been struggling to do just a quick 24! Its 8pm, im taking a hot epsom salt bath so i think as long as i can make it through tonight, tomorrow should be much easier. Im thinking im shooting for a 72 hour this time around. This video gave me some motivation. Thank you! C'mon, folks...we can do this! Its totally worth it. And in my experience, you can still get gentle exercise is( streching, swimming, bike riding, etc) but doing heavy bench press, squats and deadlifts caught up to me. I say take it easy during the fast...but to each their own. Good luck!

I agree with you and know if u eat nice food with nutrients once a day, it's best It may be our evolution bcz when were ape some days are having surplus food but some day with no food that's why body built up the mechanism of of doing the body needed chores when it has no digestion to do. And when we went agriculture and industrial revolution we all are eating like kings and not doing works as machines came for almost everything and that make us fat and fatter. The best way in today's world of less physical activity is we exercise, eat less but nutritious and meditate to relax😊

As a Beleiver and Servant of LORD I Fast regularly. I got used to it that a three day fast os relativrly easy to do apart from mental temptstions. They way it works spiritually is that your spirit will become stronger and holy spirit will have more way to guide you and help you. Demons are absolutely horrified of you fasting, if you are fasting and filled with holy spirit, you are walking powerhouse of God and devil flees. You can sense and feel things in spiritual realms, you receive revelations and new ways of understanding God and his Word, you have better ability to study your thoughts and get purified.

I felt like I have acid in my stomach and it is eating my organs. When I woke up on the third day I was great. I had an headache because of my pillows and neck cramp. But it was gone mid day and I was feeling well, really well. I was more productive at work. Also I was more social on the third day. And I was really energetic! I came home and did a lot of chores and even coock a chicken bone and veggies broth (soup). It was really great experience on the day 3! On the first day only water. On the second day I drank water and sparkling water 0.5liter (with magnesium, sodim, potassium) and also a gram of sea salt. On the third day I drank water and mineral sparkling water. Also I took 2 grams of sea salt. I break fast at the mark of 74 hours with chicken veggies soup. Soup was sooo good! 😃 Take small portions!

I wish I could report such a glorious experience as many have shared. This is my first 3-day water fast ever and I am 49 years old. I will most certainly incorporate this into my life a few times each year going forward because I believe in the benefits 100%, but it has been a struggle. Day 2 my body ached all over; thankfully that is gone. Last night (the final night of my fast) I tossed and turned all night, been moody & grumpy, headaches from caffeine withdrawals. I know this is helping inside my body in many ways, so that's what I'm holding onto. Down 6 lbs. which is nice also. Honestly, I am counting down these final hours.

Based on your profile picture, I'm assuming that you are a woman. If that is true, then you have to fast according to where you are on your menstrual cycle, which starts counting on the first day of your period. Prolonged fasting is recommended at the beginning phase of yiur circle because your estrogen level is grafually building up and your body can tolerate longer period of low blood sugar better. On the contrary, it is not recommended to fast the week before and leading to your period because of high progesterone level, which does not do well with stress (e.g., hunger). If you're menopausal, there is also a recommended way to fast. You will find all this in the book "Fast Like A Girl" by Mindy Pelz. All the best to you.

That does sound like withdrawal symptoms from potentially multiple things. Hopefully you can identify and eliminate those things from your diet as much as possible, at least caffeine. Also, like with anything else, the body becomes better when doing things repeatedly, so the next fast should go better.

I'm a Veteran, we were already fasting during basic training, we just didnt know it. No soda allowed, dinner was over normally before 330-4pm. Up at 430-5am for formation then PT. Breakfast at 630-8am depending on the day. I would recommend starting with 1 meal per day and drink water throughout. Boiled eggs, oatmeal... to go a full 3 days on just water. I'm not about to try that.. esp if you got kids or a stressful job

No. When you fast, your body uses fats as the main fuel source since carbohydrate are depleted by then. The breakdown of fats produce ketones and your brain loves to use ketones as energy source which is why your mind feels clearer despite fasting

The longer you fast the more intense the benefits, and you'll be primed a day or so leading up to each repeated event until essentially your body starts doing the things it can only do while fasting under normal circumstances, even before you start. The more you do it. The better and more apparent the results. From the base physical to the highly spiritual, this is how we can all get rid of clutter in all the inner kingdoms- mental spiritual and physical

57 years young here, as I hit my 40’s and 50’s it became abundantly clear I didn’t need all the food I was eating and my weight exploded. Started experimenting with 8/16, 4/20 then OMAD, during this time I went to KETO to help with the hunger pangs it really worked. I experienced severe dizziness during the day due to fluctuating blood sugar as I got off sugar and progressed to OMAD and my wife and I have been on it ever since. Then started doing weekly 1 day fasts on Monday and Friday with a 3 day thrown in every 3 months and a 5 day fast once a year and the results are amazing. Periodically clearing all inflammation, resetting the immune system, weight control and perfect blood results except for LDL which is “high” last one being 275 but my HDL was 75 and I did the particulate count advanced blood work and my LDL was predominantly the big puffy kind that do not significantly contribute to plaque buildup and my CAC score is 0 from several years ago so I’m comfortable with not taking statins.

At 61I embarked on a 40 day water fast. (I stopped at day 28 only because I was bored.) My goal was to cause autophagy and clean house so to say. I told myself to welcome hunger pangs which quickly subsided after drinking my distilled water. After awakening on day 4 it was smooth sailing from then on. Since I was using my stored fat as fuel (stored for many years BTW..lol) my energy level skyrocketed! I was looking for anything to do like cleaning out my refrigerator refrigerator at 5 in the morning 😂. I lost 30lbs in28 days and felt like I had become younger younger. Now I know why the Bible instructs one to fast with prayer periodically!! periodically

No need for metformin or blood pressure Losartan meds now for 3 days, no need for them, the CGM and BP monitor everyday so far are showing good readings. I monitored bp and blood glucose levels through out fast. I wish i monitored ketones though. I Lost 25 lbs, went from 235 to 210, I'm 6'0 and very experienced with fasting, but have yoyoed in weight. Fasting helps and fixes our body. Go for it. This is my second long fast, I will do another if needed in one year. My goal weight is 195 which is my weight when I started college, I'm back at my weight now when I ended college. I will keep it off this time as I am lifting weights again, gave up red meat as I did for two years from 2019 to 2021 along with dairy this time, to much inflammation. Good luck people, fasting fixes us.
