There's no denying Death Row was a behemoth of a lable with some of the finest producers and rappers to have ever graced the mic. Their Magnum opus was 2pac. He took the lable to such dizzy and untouchable heights. There was only going to be one outcome ...

Imo Dre was the key, not Pac. Pac greatest works were published before signed to Death Row, while Dre pretty much created a whole new genre through death row and produced pretty much all beats for the biggest hits coming out from the label.

Technically the reason Daz really went at Kanye it’s because someone made a tape sounding exactly like Kanye and there was something going on between Snoop and Kanye at the time but it wasn’t that serious but whoever made this tape and put it out there pretending to really be Kanye said a lot of stuff about Snoop, Long Beach and the Crips. At one point this person that sounded like Kanye and was portraying himself as Kanye was saying things like “I’m a god and what’s a god to a Crip?” Everyone knows it’s fake now but at the time there were a lot of Crips in Los Angeles, Long Beach , Compton , etc. that were pissed about it. The stuff about Trump was just icing on the cake that they could rub in his face but it was that fake Kanye tape that said everything off.

I can tell that even though you didn't grow up in this era of music, you've done some really good research, but please make sure to research the artists' songs BEYOND mainstream chart success. Black artists, especially hip hop artists received hardly ANY recognition back then (because, "ray-sizm"), so there were several artists that you low key played TF out of, that had songs that were quite successful amongst their immediate audiences (i.e., Miche'le's "Something in My Heart", that was all over urban radio for years), because you were solely paying attention to Billboard and other mainstream stats.

Kurupt and Daz were still on Death Row through Tha Dogg Pound name in the late 90's into the early 2000's.. On Suge Knight Represents Chronic 2000 they both appear on several songs, inside the booklet (released in 1999) it says coming soon Tha Dogg Pound.. In Kurupt "Streetz Is a Mutha" Music video around the same time there's a part in the video they promote Suges Chronic 2000 by showing the album cover.. In 2001 Death Row released Tha Dogg Pound 2002 which features new music including a collab with Rocafella on a remix for Change The Game, and old never heard before songs with newly produced beats. It features Crooked I and other current Tha Row artists at the time like Tha Relativez and SKG, so I see this as Dogg Pounds real second album. It sold more and charted higher than the album that's supposed to be. Back in the day I used to see Dogg Pound 2002 the edited version up at Wal-Mart lol

I don't think he was even in his 30 yet when he made multiple millions. When he lost it all due to taxes, fake friends, & his over spending lead to his depression, which lead to take some time off & revitalize his career by signing with Death Row Records. Although he.put out some fairly good records on Death Row but it never matched the success of "Too Legit 2 Quit".
