What Happened to SivHD?

Ойындар

SivHD was one of the biggest League of Legends content creators in the game's early seasons. From his iconic sense of humor to entertaining gameplay, SivHD won the hearts of many in the LoL community. However, after slowly shifting away from the game and focusing on strange Vtube content, one can only wonder What Happened to SivHD?

It's a shame to see his downward spiral. Back in the day I was absolutely obsessed with him and his content. League creators like him, Sp4zie, Instalok, VGD, Peacepigeon, etc. really made the game feels like a community supported by the developers. It was honestly just a good time to be a League player, because the content scene was full of quality and positivity (for the most part). It's a real shame most of them don't even touch League anymore, but I suppose nothing good can last forever.

Is it tho? apart from being a not so great boyfriend I don't really see a downwards Spiral. In the End he should do what he likes. If he doesn't like to play League anymore that's fine, he has no obligations to upload League videos. We can be happy he made good ones but demanding that he keeps on making them is just stupid as it would just be bad for him. I myself am happy for his 14 videos I watvhed instantly as soon as they got uploaded but I'm perfectly fine with him not uploading anymore

You forgot to include the assassin rewok in preseason 7 which completely changed 2 of his 3 mains - Kata and LB. He didnt like both and stopped playing them altogether. There was also the Ezreal W rework a few years after that which might seem like a small change, but mostly killed AP Ez too. When the comfort champions you play get "deleted" its hard to keep enjoying the same game. To me this was the point which separates the "good old" vids and the "worse", forgettable new ones.

AP Ez killed..? What..? Season 8, even after Ez's change, was still nothing but Hybrid and AP versions of champs and that continued for quite a bit due to Kai'Sa and the popularity of Hybrid Varus. AP Ez was weak on the first day, but a couple patches later when his ult gained full damage regardless of how many it hit and his W got buffed to 90% ratio and 300 base damage, AP Ez was picked very often. Not as often as AD Ez due to Essence Reaver being buffed for AD Ez to not be a crit item, but CDR, Mana, and tons of raw AD, but AP and Hybrid Ez was a thing that existed fairly often due to Manamune+Gunblade combo being so strong.

my all time favourite league content creator and arguably content creator in general. His videos got me into league as a really exciting and fun game and his videos were something i couldnt wait to watch every day after i would be back from school. But yeah league changed a lot and became more competitive over the years and all that fun from old days was completely lost and as many other creators and regular player Siv also stopped playing the game. I was really happy when he go back few years ago but it wasnt the same since league wasnt the same anymore. But im always rewatching his old videos when i get bored and nostalgia really hits hard. Hopefully riot does something to make this game as fun as in the old days and Siv comes back again, enjoying the game!

As a content creator myself, I totally get Siv. He probably just got tired/bored of the content grind, stopped posting actively for a while which KZread algorithms immediately punished by making his channel lower priority and then when he tried to post again, he just wasn’t getting the same numbers like before due to unforgiving nature of YT algorithms, which I guess further diminished his appetite for content grind. Remember watching his stuff back in the days with my friends and it was good times.

Siv was incredibly charismatic and funny. His opinion on the game is very relatable. League used to be an approachable game. I played for a decade, and quit a little over 2 years ago. Recently have been playing it a bit again and it's so frustratingly convoluted to get into. Not only are most new Champions super overloaded, the items are ridiculously broken and damage in the game is sky high. You will die faster than you can realize that you're even taking that much damage. Feels like they just kept working on the game for the hardcore community, and forgot that that community was the minority. As a result, they allienated most of their playerbase. It's not the passing of the years that drained League's playerbase to an all time low, it's the game design itself for the most part. It's just too much work to play. As adults with responsibilities, there is little incentive, time or appeal in the game nowadays.

  • @lightworker2956

Indeed. I kind of feel that in game design terms, giving a new champion absurd damage / kits is like drugs: it's fun in the moment, and sure players enjoy it in the moment, but in the long term it just corrodes the game.

The thing I really liked about Siv's content was the fact that he sometimes played builds that weren't particularly meta, or that showcased him just straight up getting destroyed, and still having a great time. When I first got into League I was a toxic little fuck who would constantly rage, but after seeing Siv's content I started reforming in the sense that I just stopped giving a shit about playing good and just having a great time (somewhat contradictory considering it's League we're talking about here) regardless of what my score said.

I completely agree. I believe that he taught his audience the most important thing about the game - that it is meant to be fun. I stuck with league since season 3 and I can only thank SivHD for that. I hate a lot of the new changes, overloaded champs and complete disregard for the community, but I still find happiness in the little things in game and that keeps me going. I think the best thing anyone can do to pay respect to Siv is to try to make their games a little less toxic. Like wishing people "gl hf" at the beginning of the match and saying "gg wp" at the end, no matter who won. Siv may be gone, but his legacy may yet life on.

It got worse when they catered to the pro scene years ago instead of focusing on making the game fun for the playerbase. That was the time when league youtubers started to feel off and slowly lose passion about the game. I think that was around 2016-2018. I quit at 2016, I got burned out of league.

I can't really blame him for his breaks and I don't think they were his downfall. I remember watching every videos of his when League was at it's peak regarding growth. Nowadays it's rather rare that you talk to a random person IRL and they say "Oh I also play League", back then you could take half a classroom and 30-50% of the people played it. And you had such a massive amount of content creators most people watched at the same time. Spazie, Siv, Keyori come to my head right away, but there were probably a lot more of the dominant ones. These then usually started playing with a group and instead of 3, you now followed 10-15. But there was only so much repeat you could watch until it became exhausting to see the same things, I still loved their videos for their personality, but I found myself clicking off the videos rather early or skipping many things, especially gameplay.

I think one big problem for Siv was the shift in demand for League content. Whereas fun content creators like SivHD and Dunkey prospered in the past, people nowadays would rather watch someone good at the game rather than someone actually entertaining.

What KP said and what everyone else said is up to debate. I trust Siv more than I trust all of these rumours. He's real, honest, amazing and he's made better content than the rest of the League community combined. No one to this day is that hard working in their edits and that entertaining. We love you Siv! ❤

As someone who religiously watched every single SivHD upload, no matter the game or era, I think his absolute best content came from League when the original rune system of marks, glyphs, seals and quintessences was still a thing. It was a slow decline from there, the biggest hit being assassin reworks. I really miss Siv, he really breathed actual fun into this toxic game and I think I fully stopped playing once I realized he'd fully stopped streaming. Stack brotherhood forever ❤️

Siv was synonymous with fun. Back when League of Legends was a fun game. The fact that he didn't have to justify for what he did was the main reason we were all mesmerized by his "don't give a fuck" attitude. He was just there just to have fun and spread positivity in a nowadays full of toxic community. I don't care if he was perfect or not (newsflash, noone is) he made his choices. I just hope he is well in health and is doing good.

Part of me wonders if this is the problem with youtube, as it sort of encouraged people to post as often as possible… but it seemed like it made everyones content quality dropped in order to up the quantity of videos. The content creators often look burnt out and bored, and it just doesn’t seem to be worth putting in the effort required to make a high quality video anymore. Going from funny music videos to these casual ‘daily high lights’, it just spits on all the sparks of art and creativity he once had.

Siv was the youtuber that teach people how to have fun with league, like any league content of that time are either pro strat meta strat or videogamedunky suffering in the game and showing how toxic league is, Siv is the few that actually treated league as a game you play for fun and that's also reasonable why his content blow up so much, so sad he isn't here now and also not much predacessor to take his place

SivHD and Spazie were the two most popular and for me most funny and chill League streamers and content creators till this day. Broxah is close, but he is more educational than funny. Hell to this day I remember the Circle of Doom.

Siv was the greatest thing to ever come in the league community, dude made the game fun and interesting, without content creators like him, league would have died a long time ago.
