So predators are the closest to us in terms of logic and emotion? That is interesting. They can actually form friendships with humans out of mutual respect and are the only of the three that don't want to kill us just for being different. Once you beat them or are not on their target list, they're pretty cool alies to have.

It's happened in comics before. Hell, it happened in the first Alien vs Predator movie. Typically, their bonds are along the lines of someone bonding with an animal, but if you're liked enough, it is actually possible for them to accept you as one of their own. Imagine a human who liked hunting gorillas but was able to befriend one and keep around as a friend (with both speaking Gorilla Sign Language). Then said friend gorilla starts wearing human clothes and learning human while not being a human, but is unaware/doesn't object to the human hunting gorillas still. That's the best analogy for it. Now, a lot of the AvP lore is now separated completely, but the Predator lore and culture (which is pretty similar to a lot of human cultures) is still canon (minus the Alien/Prometheus stuff).

It is unavoidable, Alien had to happen. It was the one movie everyone agrees "was made"... the others, may or may not have happened, depending on who you ask.

I liked Prometheus. It’s my opinion that it might’ve worked if they had made it a trilogy. I think a lot of people were overanxious to see the xenos and felt let down because they didn’t see that. The Engineer/Space Jockeys were good enough to have a story of their own to me.

I love the movie Prometheus was trying to be. It just didn't come out right, but there really were good ideas there.

The Alien franchise is full of mysteries and questions about the origins of the human race. The fact that biblical references and the "god/superior species/creators" thing (which is actually pretty impressive and satisfying) makes me want to watch more, thus learn more. About the video itself congrats!

Dude, alien and predator aren’t even in the same universe!

The first pages of Fire and Stone where the Engineer stomps on the probe are before the events in Prometheus. The probe was starting to transmit information, which got back to Weyland and the company. It transmitted just long enough for Weyland to know there was a planet out there, but not much about it. Shaw's repeated request for funding based on her research, and confirmation that something was out there ultimately got him wondering if his desire for immortality could be achieved. Hence, the Prometheus expedition was put together and a crew sent to investigate

But why couldn't David pilot, even damaged? Synths have functioned broken like that. Shaw repairing him even slightly doesn't make sense during a chase.

The Prometheus comic book series was amazing! totally recommended.

Idk about how they measure space or that kind of thing but I do know everything in space is moving apart really fast. Some parts of the Universe are moving faster than the speed of light. So how can longitude and latitude be applied to a point in space?? I like the Biblical reference better.

Kristina Reeves ive come to dislike alien covenant more and more everytime i watch it. I notice its flaws, Prometheus on the other hand, doesnt. It felt more fresh and new, alien covenant just felt like a rehash of things i had already seen although when i first watched i did like it but not as much as prometheus. It has its moments but theres alot that i dont like.

Thee black gooe is technically referenced as Omnimold, we think it may have destroyed the dinosaurs until there was nothing left but a layer of carbon mud in the earth. It happened so fast and then all at once they gathered together in unison to simply break down leaving no trace of their actual structure. In star wars logic they are called The Destroyers, and the Alphas who release them do so every five thousand years unless there is progress made upon the residents of that system. One of the Alpha ships was stranded and crashed on a planet that survived the Omnimold and became the Sith. They used the technology of the Alphas to manipulate the force thru Midi-chlorians, which is the antidote to the Omnimold. They knew they only had 5000 years to escape their own planet, and thus began the quarantine breach that gave rise to the Jedi, and encompassed the whole saga of what we call The Luciferean Rebellion. On 🌍 Earth proper, because the Alphas were successful, only a tiny amount of the Omnimold is remaining in our generational psyche (collective unconscious) and it is the source of all disease to life. The term Midi-chlorians means -half green or half way yet to be living. Sith means, here rising. Jedi, to divide and conquer. The name LV223 came about in Aliens. The whole idea of the engineers (blue guys) as well as the goo didn't come about until more than two decades after Aliens hit the cinemas. Until Prometheus, the engineer(s) was simply the space jockey. What we see in of the 'elephantine' space jockey in Alien was its skeleton. Later, for Prometheus, the skeleton becoming a space suit is what allowed the idea of the engineers (blue guys) to form. Thus sorry, but LV223 is not an ode to Leviticus. Most likely some bible reader made the connection post-release of Prometheus without knowing LV223 was referenced in Aliens, 1986. Wikipedia is not a good source.

I had this image of David's head grafted into a space jockey chair. His head was united with his body only after being underway. It is a sort of homage to Ash and Bishop.

Is there an extended version of Prometheus? Or just limited to watching the extras on the blu ray?

There's definitely more to the Deacon becoming a mountain story than has been alluded to. I'll posit an example that's kicking around my head. 1) Pro-gen (Progeny) was the original name of the the song 'move any mountain' by the Scottish band (The film also opens up in Scotland) the Shamen (the engineers could also be viewed as shamen) who recorded the song in 1989- EXACTLY 100 years before the 2089 setting of Prometheus and of course the Deacon was unique and the 'progeny' of the goo, Shaw and the engineer. Terence Kemp McKenna was an American ethnobotanist, mystic, psychonaut, lecturer, author, and an advocate for the responsible use of naturally occurring psychedelic plants and was linked to the band The Shamen in the 90's He wrote about his belief in the actuality of aliens (personally I believe they are a demonic masquerade and evolution a tale too simple to explain life) the impending destruction of mankind, and evolution theory amongst other topics related to Prometheus. I believe there's some link related. Perhaps Dan O'Bannon or Ronald Shusett the writers of Prometheus were influenced by him. Way too many coincidences. Ah shit, here ya go re those lyrics, this is one version..... He was experimenting on her in Prometheus already. He never stopped his experiments on her. Once he no longer had a human male to mate with her - he found his own sheer evil way of extracting what 'life' he could from her. I think he formed a kind of respect for her survival instincts but you'd be kidding yourselves trying to project an emotion you'd feel onto an entity like that.

The problem was that the Dark Horse team was not going to include Xenomoprhs but Deacons as the main antagonistic creatures. Fox stepped in and ordered Dark Horse to remove the Deacon forcing DH to replace them with Xenomoprhs.

Didn’t know about the Bible connection. Interesting stuff.

My idea for a third alien/prometheus movie is as follows: The engineers are the main characters in the movie and comes to the planet that was in the Prometheus movie. There they find Weyland inside the crashed spaceship. They have a blue elixir which they empty all over him and bring him to life. But while doing this the Deacon from the Prometheus movie sneaks into their spaceship and hide it self in one of the ventilation chambers. In the next part they arrive at the planet from alien covenant and find the other robot(Walter) who is david's twin.The engineers use the blue elixir and repairs him. Once awaken the engineers and Weyland get to know all the horrible things that David has done, and weyland says "we have to stop David" . They set course for origae. When they arrive,they scans all the planet,and finds the planet is full of hostile organisms except on a high mountain where they discover that there are humans inside a cave. Inside the cave they meet a herd of children, who tell that when they had lived on the planet for over ten years, they began to be attacked by Xenomorphs and all the adults died or were turned into these creatures. There were also great giants developed by someone the children calls David. The engineers get ready to wipe out all the Xenomorphs that David has created, but the great giants manage to escape with one of the engineers' spaceships. The engineers and Weyland hunts the spaceship and manage to force the spaceship down on the planet lv426.Where it start sending a distress signal. The engineers return to Origae to find David, but discover that he has escaped. In the last part we see David arriving and meeting an unknown alien species on a tropical like planet. But when he and the unknown aliens have left the spaceship,the deacon slips out of the ship and is seen running toward the nearest settlement. And that makes the cliffhanger that ends the third movie.

The engineers remind me of the Chozo in Metroid.

Well they could still show us the deacon chasing after David & Elizabeth when Ridley finally makes the sequel to Prometheus which is suppose to be next , he can leave off right where Prometheus left off & have it tie into alien covenant , then make the sequel to covenant starting exactly where they left off! Or just combine it into one film , lots of engineers coming after David , deacon , Xenos everything we ever wanted an all out war between them!

It was a shame that Shaw didn’t want to make another appearance.

That's why she didn't appear in Covenant? I thought is was Scott's classic removing scenes that explain meaningful parts of the story for fighting aliens. They left all the explanations in their heads for Kroft to explain it to us!

I think he needed to make proper origin stories for all xenomorphs, engineers and predators, this will allow them to add more species and worlds to the point an actual universal war for power seems logical, and the xenomorphs need intelligents with thier brutality, a hivemind so to speak

Are there sites where additional film that was not used in the movies is available? It would be nice to have a collection of cut scenes available for download even if there is a charge. Maybe a directors cut of the movies? Just wondering.

I think I got this figured out. What if the first Xenomorph or Face Hunger plants a Chest Buster inside a Engineer, but maybe just maybe the mutated living being that grew from that combination of a Face Huger and Engineer was a Human? Now every creature that we saw developed all looked like Monsters....monsters to us? As Humans we look just as much like Monsters to others as they look to us. We are Xenomorphs.
