Спорт
Twenty-two years ago, Extreme Championship Wrestling brought its unapologetic grit and brashness to the pay-per-view market, producing Barely Legal from south Philadelphia's ECW Arena...

Terry Funk's one of those people death isn't sure he can take in a fight.

It’s crazy how almost all the wrestlers who hasn’t passed away still wrestle, it shows their love and care for the sport

That and, for a lot of them, wrestling is all they know. That's not a judgment, mind you, but if you've only been doing one thing for your entire life, and you're really fuckin' good at it (compared to your regular joe), you're gonna do it as long as possible.

I've said it before and I'll say it again, best intro on KZread.

And I guess D-Von, Lance and anybody else producing @ WWE doesn't count.
What Lance Storm had is called a rattail not a ponytail. A ponytail is what RVD has.
I still expect Terry to lace up his boots when he's 90 murdering RVD, Dreamer and Sabu one last time

I love how so many of these guys are still active.
Honestly out of the people on this list that are dead I’m more shocked that Sabu, Sandman and Terry Funk are still with us.

I was certain that Sandman was dead until he made a couple of appearances on Impact earlier this year. Surprised the Hell out of me.
*WHAT HAPPENED TO THE VENUE?* What became the legendary ECW Arena was originally built in 1974 as a freight warehouse. In 1986 it was taken over by the South Philadelphia Viking Club, a local mummers organisation (think folk LARPing and that's more-or-less what mummers are), who christened the building as *Viking Hall,* which was actually the venue's official name until 2003. ECW began using the building in 1993, and it hosted the vast majority of the promotion's events over the coming decade; the last being Holiday Hell in December 2000. Following ECW's demise 4 months later, the building was used by various promotions like CZW, 3PW and the infamous Xtreme Pro Wrestling, who signed an exclusive lease to use the building in December 2002, but whom were evicted after just 2 months. In 2005 the newly-renamed Alhambra Arena hosted the first Hardcore Homecoming show, an indie answer to the ECW One Night Stand PPV and held two days prior; the next year the then-new WWECW brand even held a house show there, with a main event of RVD beating Kurt Angle to retain the WWE Championship; and in 2008 scenes from the movie _The Wrestler_ were filmed at the arena, as part of CZW's 9 F'ing Years show. Today the building, now named 2300 Arena, still sees semi-regular use; in 2018 the Super Bowl LII winning Philadelphia Eagles received their championship rings in a private ceremony at the arena, and in June 2019 Evolve 131 was held there as a WWE Network special, as counterprogramming for AEW's Fight For The Fallen PPV.
How terry funk made it to retirement is beyond my understanding. the man must really be as tough as nails to go through all those hardcore matches and survive. Glad he's still with us though :)

I'm almost certain Adam Cole (Bay Bay) is just Stevie Richards with some cosmetic work done, now you can't unsee it
Whenever i see "what happened" on a cultaholic video i smile...because i know what songs coming.
I love these videos. The content on this channel is exceptional. Truly, thank you all for keeping me entertained. It has been two amazing years watching you all grow Cultaholic. I recommend all those who appreciate this great group of guys (and Jen) to contribute even a little on patreon. Unfortunately, KZreads algorithms have made it more difficult for wrestling as well as true crime creators to get recommended or pushed out to more viewers. Keep up the great work mates. Your deeply appreciated.
Stevie Richards is so underrated and gave a great promo leading up to the PPV where he 'forgave' the ECW faithful.
“Sadly...”. Too many times we had to hear Adam preface with that word in this clip.
I literally just watched this PPV last night after watching One Night Stand 2005 where Joey Styles said Barley Legal is the ECw first ever PPV. Shit is crazy
I was remodeling a kitchen in Chester PA it was cold and about 4 inches of snow. I kept hearing a loud crazy holler outside. Looking outside it was a guy playing with kids and a gocart. I mentioned to the homeowners that guy's crazy YEAH THAT'S THE SANDMAN.

Bit confronting how frequently the phrases "passed away of a heart attack/failure", "died after overdosing on" and "took their own life" pop up on these lists.
Even, Chuck Norris is scared of Terry Funk
I honestly thought the dead/alive ratio would be a lot worse.

You should do tough enough competitors where are they now
I used to think it was sad seeing a 60yr old former star wrestling on the indie scene, now I think it's sad seeing a 60yr old former star hosting a podcast

Tracy smothers was at the first show I saw in person teaming with Terry Taylor. They lost to Brian Pillman and Marcus Alexander Bagwell
Why do I love this theme song so fucking much?
I remember when Louis Spicoli was a jobber for WWF in the 80's. It's sad that he passed away.😢
I just watched the full theme then got this noti. Im marking out bro!!!
I love that intro song!!!!
One of the best ppvs of 97 for me👏🏻)
I always thought it was a missed opportunity to not give sandman Black Lable Society berserkers as his theme if it had come out at the time... Can't remember if it had though
You need to do one on well-known ECW fans, like Strawhat and Sign Guy
Adam you forgot to mention Saturn is.a.real life hero
Terry Funk is the Kenny of South Park of wrestling. He's immortal for real
That theme song is amazing (Yes I know its Billy Joel we didn't start the fire)

ECW's first ever PPV is kind of like a death metal show: barely legal, crazy as hell, and half of the people there are probably dead now.
Damn Pitbull ODing on fentanyl back in 2003...it seems to be all too common now 😕😕

hey you guys should mention how at ECW One Night Stand 2005 JBL his the Blue Meanie for real. I have it on good authority no one knows about that fact.
I heard Terry Funk has come out of retirement to take care of the virus we shall not name
Your song made me die inside
Balls died of an overdose outside a McDonalds I think his mom says heart attack so doesn't sound good
me throughout the entire video: oh yeah that guy he was in WWE right oh 'the tag-team ha I know everything about ecw
