Ahhhh the good Ole black box! The late 90s were a great time to have it. You had WWF and WCW pay per views once a month. You had early UFC back when they did one night tournaments without weight divisions which I wish they brought back once a year. You also had Mike Tyson a little before he went completely nuts. But my favorite was every three or four months when ECW put on incredible shows from start to finish. I say the worst events listed on here were still way more entertaining than anything else then and now.

This is a great channel you guys know how to lift my spirits on a down day
My first introduction to ECW was through Pro Wrestling Illustrated as I would read it as a kid from beginning to end. The first time I saw ECW was when they invaded RAW in February of 1997. The first pay per view, Barely Legal, wasnt available on our pay per view service but my brother got a hold of a taped recording of it which really got me hooked(must have watched ten times through). I then went to my relatives in Florida the summer of 1997 and was finally able to watch Hardcore TV on The Sunshine Network at 1am on Tuesday nights lol. Then I was only able to watch their pay per views until they got on TNN and finally saw a live event in Worcester Massachusetts in early 2000. It was so disappointing when they went out of business but was excited when they were rebooted but realised pretty quickly that Vince really didnt understand what ECW really was. It was a great mixture of different wrestling styles in a gritty environment with fans right on top of the action. I think for a while NXT had embraced that kind of environment.
I guess in wrestling society term "crown jewel" isn't exactly a compliment.

Such a silly comment. You obviously made this remark not knowing much about professional wrestling. I'll let you off easy, since you're new to the sport. FMW (not that you know what that means, without a Google search) FMW, was the original "hardcore" professional wrestling company. So I can shoot your comment down by simply stating this. ECW wouldn't exist without FMW. Change my mind. In all seriousness, please know your stuff before commenting. I will say this, I'm sorry if I sounded mean. I just think you should of researched before commenting, because people that have watched wrestling for a long time would find that comment amusing. I hope you are liking WWE so far, I love that the company still gets new viewers, such as yourself. 😁

Prposalx I wasn’t on about FMW though, so you’ve clearly missed the lighthearted fun here. ECW might have gotten their style from Japan (which FYI I’m aware of) I was merely stating there’d be no much loved attitude era without the ECW hardcore influence

The bull rope match between Steve Corino and Dusty Rhodes was one of the best strap matches ever. It really helped Corino start to get over with the fans and eventually become one of the top babyfaces in ECW's dying days.

The 2000 ECW PPVs are all pretty damn underrated (yeah, Living Dangerously is probably the least so), but especially Anarchy Rulz '00. There's a phenomenal Corino/C.W. match on that show that you should really check out. I also liked how they flowed, the matches in the undercard all kinda built off each other in a continuous narrative.

Pacici is hillarious with his commentary. You can really feel his Love for the business in the way he talks. Plus that husain bolt joke killed me when I saw the edit of the guys running. 👏🏾👏🏾👍🏾
Jake Roberts wrestling in a Wigan rugby league top at November to Remember 98 is one of the weirdest things I've ever seen, what a guy.
heatwave '98, hardcore heaven '97, anarchy rulz 2000, guilty as charged 2001, hardcore heaven 2000 are my top 5. Decent content, thanks dude
I’ve been watching wrestling since 1982 and Honestly to this day. ECW’s Heatwave ‘98 is still one of the greatest PPV’s I’ve ever seen. I did goto Anarchy Rulz’99 in Villa Park Illinois and YES the crowd was white hot and was right near where Mike Awesome came through the crowd. That was pretty intense.
Sat Front Row at GAC 2001 in Birmingham Al. Best night of my life. Thanks for giving it such good ratings.

What a surprisingvid I literally just finished watching all of the ppvs Great work
I had the pleasure of attending two ECW ppv's. Unfortunately they were Wrestlepalooza 98 and December to Dismember in 2006.
I went back and watched all of the ECW PPV's two years ago and I'm so glad I did. There's so many great and underrated wrestlers (CW Andersen, Doring and Roadkill, Little Guido and Masato Tanaka), and Jerry Lynn vs RVD is the greatest series of matches of the Attitude Era
@Dawnbreakerr

From a pure wrestling standpoint, yes. Pure epicness? Gotta be SCSA vs. Rocky.
During the late 90s and early 2000s, I went to WWF shows, WCW shows and a few indy shows but nothing compared to the house show I saw from ECW in Massachusetts. It was a house show during a time where they were raided for talent by the other companies. They even had injuries that put the top guys they still had out of action. Even with that, it was the absolute best wrestling show I had ever been to. It had a mix of great technical wrestling, hardcore and lucha libre. Many thought of ECW as just death match wrestling but death matches were only used at the end of feuds usually. What made them great and different was every wrestler put their absolute best effort and made it well worth the price of admission. That combined with not insulting the intelligence of the fans and the gritty underground look made them a true alternative. That is why the ECW reboot didnt make it besides the two One Night Stand events. They put ECW in large arenas and made the wrestlers work the scripted hollywood style matches. Just because you stamp the name ECW on it, it does not make it EC F'N W.
I honestly love how like 90 percent of the pictures in the beginning were New Jack 😂😂
Great video as usual. Thanks fellas!
Guilty as Charged 01 is my Fav. ECW ppv ♥ triple tga team match was amazing , and that i quit match was dope

Peter Mccleery the part where Sabu tapes his bicep and huge gash in his Arm is hard core but should have been the end of the match due to his arm looking like he hit an artery... also another brutal classic is Sabu v Sandman (Sabu breaking his jaw and taping his jaw is also hard core)
You know it’s funny how despite financial troubles ECW remained mostly good until the end, whereas WCW in 2000 self destructed completely. Despite the very bad financial position they were in I think it would be fair to say that by late 2000 they had overtaken WCW in the majority of people’s eyes as the no.2 promotion in the US
Excellent video idea! So happy ECW's PPVs are being presented
Lynn, Credible and Storm are so criminally underrated.
100 likes and when I die, I'll ask God to bring back the old ECW
Interesting video idea I'd love to see: 10 times WWE superstars Kayfabe lives have been threatened (Eg. Vinces Car exploding, hanging boss man)
Hey @@AdamPacitti! I got a question! It's farfetched but hear me out please. If you were to ever do a WWECW list and combined both PPVs into one list.....where would ONS II (2006) rank in your opinion ?
Thanks a lot this is great work!
Been waiting for this
I agree with some of the list but not all. The 1999 ppvs were epic and some of them should have been higher on the list
who else left to go watch Vic Grimes falling off a scaffold and then came back to the video.
Who gave Jake Roberts a Wigan RLFC shirt?
I'll have to agree on Barely Legal and Heatwave 1998 being in the top 2. Barely Legal took on a new meaning for me ever since I watched Beyond the Mat.
What was Pacitti high on when this video was being produced? The Tag Team Championship Match at Heatwave 1998 was awesome. With Sabu, Rob Van Dam, Hayabusa, and Jinsei Shinzaki, how could you go wrong?
One more thing about November to Remember '99: New Jack climbing to the top of the basketball backboard to put DeVito(?) through a table.
ECW back in the days was FUCKIN AWESOME! Some of Wrestling's Greatest Rivalries took place in ECW. Taz vs. Sabu, Rob Van Dam vs. Jerry Lynn, Mike Awesome vs. Masato Tanaka, The Sandman vs. Raven, and more. ECW was the most Hardcore Wrestling company back then, it had tons of exciting matches and it was Fun to watch.
Fun fact about the Danbury Fall: Vic Grimes got cold feet when he and New Jack got up there. Understandably so I say. But New Jack felt the spot still had to go, so he pulled Grimes over in order for the spot to go off. Which means that all of New Jack's injuries were his own fault. A shame he didn't learn his lesson about taking absurdly risky spots just because he could. Mind you, if he had a half a mind to begin with, he wouldn't have put himself in spots like that to begin with. This also means his vendetta and attempted murder of Vic Grimes in XPW the next year was completely unjustified since Grimes was worried and rightfully didn't want to go through with that spot. While New Jack couldn't see that this was his fault and decided to try and murder another man for not helping that man through their big spot last year. New Jack is a bastard. There's no two ways about it. JBL battering The Blue Meanie has been spoken of in perpetuity, but that's nothing compared to New Jack trying to kill an old man for working his usual style of match.

The guy he stabbed had no business being in a ring, let alone a match with New Jack! You would think someone getting in the ring would be educated on the pro wrestling world and would know what he was getting into. The guy acted like he knew what he was doing and was clearly botching wrestling punches and head butts. So he was either trying to be a tough guy or he was completely stupid. Either way, hopefully getting stabbed by New Jack smartened him up to not get in a ring again. Also New Jack and Grimes agreed to the spot before hand and Jack was an attraction that fans paid to see him do a crazy spot in his matches. What were they going to do? Slowly climb back down? By Grimes not committing to the move, it made the landing so much worse than it should have been. He agreed to the move and agreed to the match with him in XPW. He didn't have to agree to either! And also if you were referencing the Gypsy Joe incident, the old man was giving New Jack stiff shots, one busting his nose. I know I got popped in the nose once and I blacked out, saw red and don't remember lashing out. Them to make things worse, the hillbillies in the crowd calling him the N bomb just made it worse. He couldn't take it out on the fans so he got in some extra shots on Joe. So stop crying....New Jack was a hero.
You guys should rank every WCPW/Defiant ppv too!
I was at Hardcore Heaven 2000 in Milwaukee
Unpopular Opinion but I actually liked ECW towards the end. Sure it wasn't what it used to be, but I actually liked Justin Credible and Steve Corino in the Main Events mixing it up with Jerry Lynn, Tommy Dreamer, and Sandman. RVD was still amazing, Rhino was about to break through, Unholy Alliance, the FBI, York & Matthews, and Doring & Roadkill were all fun tag teams, CW Anderson was solid and underrated, Kid Kash was cool; etc. Again, it wasn't what it was, but I would've liked to have seen them keep going.

I liked it too even without all the extra over the top hard-core stuff it was still fun to watch. I wish they could of lasted longer, maybe the dudley Boyz and some other people could of came back or even did cross promotion things like when Tazz was in wwe but fought Mike awesome at an ecw event
