in retrospect, Christian Cage's debut was hyped appropriately

Yeah I thought it was decent as well. The only thing I can think of leading up to it was people thought it was going to be Kurt Angle so naturally that disappointed some. But Christian has done way more with his AEW run than Kurt would’ve been able to do

Full Gear 2020 is a massively underrated PPV. Not only did it put wind in AEW's sails after how disappointing All Out 2020 was, but it is top to bottom one of their most consistently good cards they've ever put together. There was no point in the night that anything felt like a weak link and the matches offered plenty of diversity. You want a fun cinematic broken universe match? You got it. You want two of the best tag teams of all time having a dream match? You got it. You want two guys trying to out-heel each other? You got it. You want to see a young talent get his first championship? You got it. You want an intense hardcore match built on top of one of the best title match builds AEW's ever done? You got it. In my opinion it is the best PPV of the Dailey's Place era.

Full gear 2020 def the only pandemic one worth watching. Every single match delivered
I was at DoN 2021 and it was so awesome to be in the crowd that night. The first ppv back from lockdown. everyone in the crowd showed so much love to each other. Don't forget Daily's is an outdoor venue. It was warm. DMD became champ and the crowd stated chanted thank you shida.
@ArcaneAzmadi

Shida deserves another championship run. She won the belt on the first lockdown PPV and carried it for the women's division throughout the entire lockdown era only to lose it to Britt Baker in her first defence in front of fans. I don't know when, but she _needs_ to get a big win and raise the belt again with the entire crowd cheering for her.

DoN ‘21 was severely under ranked on this list. You could feel the energy all the way through
All Out 2021 was my first proper AEW Experience after catching the last 15 minutes of Dynamite that Wednesday. I hadn't watched wrestling since 2003 but I was intrigued enough to buy the PPV. I fell in love with wrestling again that night.
Full Gear 2021 was my first and so far only wrestling event I've seen live in person. Was a great show was so happy I got to attend it

FTR vs Young Bucks at Full Gear 2020 was not a rematch of any kind, it was their first ever tag encounter.
The Full Gear ‘21 Bucks/FTR match wasn’t a rematch.
I remember everyone being let down with the Christian Cage debut but i was super excited since he was always one of my favorites. It's good to see that a lot of people have changed their minds about him for the better.
Adam Page winning the AEW world Championship is my favorite moment in AEW history so far
It's funny; earlier on, I was just thinking as I walked home from the shops "I wonder how long AEW will need to have existed before Cultaholic have enough material for an AEW worst to best list?" Cause I was thinking there's not been nearly enough champions holding any of the belts, but I didn't even consider their PPVs
I still cannot believe people call the Christian debut a dissapointment. That's a man who has been out for 7 years and a lot of wrestlers named him as one of the best and most underrated. Sometimes wrestling fans are so stupid.
@scashwildson8354

Christian is in my top 10 favourite wrestlers of all time so it wasn't a disapointment to me but they still overhyped him way too much considering his starpower. The surprise was treated as such a big deal it felt like it was gonna be Cena, Lesnar or Punk

Well Danielson just called out Okada in Japan and Okada said it's time to enter the Forbidden Door. I think there'll be a new top 5 entry very soon. Okada vs. Danielson, ZSJ vs. OC and Shibata vs. Garcia 2. Straight to the veins please

The show is so over-hated bro. People shit on it yet there were two MOTY contenders & 3 other high quality matchups
I've suspected that TK overhyped Christian to make the Punk signing even more of a big deal after the "disappointment" of getting Christian Cage at a PPV. It was the worst kept secret, but it still was a big deal after that to get Punk debuting on free TV.
Imo revolution 2020 is still on top for me

was there for it! i agree, it was incredible
Personally, I’d swap All Out 2022 and DoN 2022 around. I found All Out to be the bigger slog to get through despite having 2 MOTY candidates on the card. I was more engaged with DoN despite it’s length, though I may have a different opinion if I rewatched it now.
@TheSoundwave92
Жыл бұрын
I am the opposite. I felt like DoN 2022 was hampered down because of the lukewarm crowd and the length made it drag on way too hard. The All Out 2022 felt far more engaging and helped me with getting through a long watch especially for the excitement of The Acclaimed vs. Swerve in Our Glory which was electrifying. Where's, I actually felt like I was falling asleep till William Regal made his debut appearance after the Moxley vs. Danielson match at DoN 2022 (wish I was kidding but I am not as I got off a 10 hour shift that same day)

@@TheSoundwave92 didn’t Regel debut at Revolution 2022? Regardless, I can kinda see where you’re coming from, but the DoN booking also agreed with me more; some of All Out’s matches and results baffled me (Hobbs/Starks being the prime one). Granted, I watched All Out after hearing all the news, so it wasn’t a blind watch like DoN, but regardless I don’t think they’re AEWs best effort
I hope you guys don't run out of budget from the amount of Kamen Rider Ryuki chimes SFX used in this video
As someone who was at Fyter Fest 2019, the match between Nakazawa and Jebailey was stupid but fun as hell
Fantastic timing for a late Sunday lunch and some cultaholic!
AEW Double or Nothing 2019, AEW Revolution 2020, and AEW Forbidden Door 2022 are my favorites.
I haven't missed an AEW PPV since its Inception (including All In) and was at Revolution 2023- I was so cognizant and appreciative in real time, recognizing I was watching something truly special. The Iron Man Match and Texas Death Match were definitely 5 star matches, but I also felt the Trios Title Match was right there with them. Christian vs JB was also really good, as was the tag team Title match.... hell, the opener with the Lucha Bros/Mark Briscoe vs the Varsity Athletes was energetic fun to get the crowd ready Only headscratcher was keeping Hometown hero Hobbs off the card in favor for an ice cold Match between Joe and Wardlow....especially considering what they decided to do after....they should have planned ahead to allow Hobbs to win the TNT Title at the PPV. I would personally put it ahead of Forbidden Door 1 and below All Out 2021, but can't complain about a top 3 placement.

I didn’t know I needed this video, but as someone that became a wrestling fan because of how hot AEW was around Punk’s debut, I can’t really argue with any of the rankings since then

AEW has this crazy habit of making these ppvs have bad builds but then putting on amazing shows. Not all have been A+'s, but most shows are at worst enjoyable and the likes of Revolution 2023, Full Gear 2021, and All Out 2021 being incredible.

They only do 4 ppvs a year, completely understandable to do 3.5-4 hour shows. WWE does the same thing for their big 4 ppvs. But the ones that go over 4 hours then it becomes a slog
This will be a great video
AEW is dope though Tony needs a booking/creative team.
I have been live at I think 14/20 out of these. I just can't believe that you have the first Double or Nothing at 7. I think you forgot about the amazing ladder match with Young Bucks and Lucha Bros that also debuted Santana and Ortiz, as well as AEW trusting a 23 year old MJF to run down Bret Hart on the mic. People were actually crying at different parts of the Dustin Cody match which I still think is the best match AEW has ever put on. Jericho I think had one of his best matches in AEW in the main event, and Mox's ending to the show was probably the most important moment AEW has ever had. This was also one of the last times Jim Ross reminded us why he was the greatest wrestling announcer ever, especially during the dustin/cody and main event. Even the wtf moment with the dark order I think looking back on it was a great thing, not the execution but the willingness of AEW to try things with rather unknown wrestlers. Finally like you mentioned, that feeling in Las Vegas of rebelling against WWE will probably never be topped, all weekend people were wearing AEW or Indy shirts around town and it was special. That is either my number 1 or 2 ppvs with All Out, the ladder tag team match was just incredible, the debuts were insane, and it was also the first wrestling event I attended with my wife where we were moved to first row center seats on the hard cam side that can never be topped.
@chrismalinowski654

Young bucks & lucha bros ladder match was at all out 2019, not double or nothing. Double or Nothing 2019 was great but mainly for the last 3 matches. The opening matche was solid but the 3 matches after it were just decent at best
I was at Revolution 2022 and the first all ourlt 2019
I don't think Revolution 2021 is too bad to be honest. I think it's too harshly criticised for that ending. It's not the best PPV they have put on, but it's still very good from start to finish. The cinematic match with Sting was awesome too and one of my favourite cinematic style matches. A duff explosion that lasted a few seconds isn't enough to ruin the rest of the 3 and a half hours of great wrestling imo 🤷♂️

Imo even besides the main event, the undercard was weak. I recently rewatched it, & It was an average show up until the main event, then the main event downgraded it
Double Or Nothing 2022 at number 15 is ridiculous. I get the criticism but it’s easily top 5.
@chrismalinowski654

Top 5 is a stretch imo but it definitely didnt belong at 15. Id say the 8-12 range is fair.
Need to do a updated one 🔥 and some aew championship ranking videos
Forbidden Door was amazing experiencing it live. I have Okada’s entrance on my channel🔥
I was at all out 2019. Omega vs Pac was match of the night
My wife and I celebrated our anniversary in 2021 going to Full Gear. I knew he was gonna lose but I still cheered for Omega to beat Hangmans ass. The match of the nite was definitely Danielson vs Miro though
Hey @Cultaholic can we get an X Division Champions Ranking List next
Proud to say I attended All Out 2021
All Out 2021 just isn't fair, like almost any one of those matches would have been match of the night at almost any other ppv. And yet only one match can be the best.
I've been to All In 2018, All Out 2019, and Forbidden Door 2022. I can say for certain, all 3 are in my top 3 of best wrestling shows I've been to EVER. (That excludes Rampage The First Dance because CM Punk's surprise return was really the only great thing about it, but that's still the best moment I've ever experienced at any wrestling show period). And speaking of Punk, I'm gonna see him return in that same venue of United Center on June 17th!!! So I am very excited to see whether the crowd will be cheers, boos, or back and forth, cause I honestly might do both.
"Every" Cultaholic knows Tony is packing it in
AEW Revolution 2020 right before the pandemic on February 29, 2020! This was six days after I turn 18 years old when I was in 11th grade and was like yes my friend can drive let’s have a crazy summer of driving and fun! Oh wait global pandemic never matter! So this PPV for me is remember as the final time before pandemic where I was genuinely excited about life and what the future held for me! Too bad AEW in the few years got worst!
I was at Revolution 2021… man the stunned silence cut by scattered laughter at the end was just awful
Awesome Video Jack!!!
There are only like 3 bad AEW ppvs the rest range from good to godly
There is no doubt in my mind that ALL OUT 2021 is the greatest AEW PPV and my personal favorite PPV of all time.

AEW has always had great moments and great matches on every ppv. Now theubhavent always been the best ppvs butnthey have not had a let down like WCW did consistently or WWE with certain Wrestlemanias or December to Dismember.
Revolution 2020 and All Out 2021
The best is easily All Out 2021
To me the Best was all out 2019 cracker barrel mach w/ Jimmy havok, Joey Janella & Darbi
5:33 it wasn’t gone wrong Cody told him to do that do your research
Saying Warglow beating MJF hasn't aged well is silly. Just because Tony couldn't capitalize and booked Warglow into oblivion after doesn't mean this wasn't one of the best long term angles AEW ever did.
FTR vs Young Bucks wasn't a rematch??
Its June 2023. I’m still waiting for Miro to be a big ass kicker!!!
You act like the ppvs were 10 hours. Most were slightly more than 4 hours. You shouldn’t count the pre-shows because you don’t need to watch that. I’ve havent watched a pre-show since 2020 I haven’t missed anything. The shows just had a lot of matches, but we only around 60-75 mins longer than the average ppv.
20 that’s it. I thought it would be more
All Out 2021 greatest PPV of all time in any promotion ever
Honestly for as bad as weekly tv is for wrestling, most ppv’s have been bangers for the last 2 years
Of course the ppvs I go to are considered some of the weakest, just my luck lol
Jack seems weirdly upset with wrestlers not being friends with each other
Oh boy! Can’t wait to see where the All Out 2022 Media Scrum places on this list
Hey, where's Adam?!
As a long time wrestling fan who has sat through some truly atrocious PPVs over the decades I would say every AEW PPV has been good
I think any ppv past revolution 2022 just dropped in quality anything before that had me gripped from start to end nowadays it just seems like a slog
Before AEW it was "Why isn't Christian in the WWE HOF? He's a HOFer!" For AEW, "why did AEW hype up the guy as a HOFer? It's just Christian"

Man, after watching WWE for so long it's nice to see that you have to stretch really hard to justify calling some of these events worse than others. The overall quality of AEW events is really high.
About 10% of the crowd left during the main event of revolution 2022. They honestly should have put on a better match. While it was good. I understand while a lot of the people left.

I don’t see the appeal to those hardcore death matches it’s fine with the blood but with the stabbing with the forks and the screwdrivers its to much
Hangman is AEW's biggest draw, AEW sold out all ppvs, many dynamites when he was the champ and they actually move tickets when they announce hangman in a card. I don't get the lackluster booking of him lately
