Cena actually said in an interview a few momths back that both he and Orton were well aware of how tired fans were of their never ending matches and feud and aimed to make the Iron Man Match much more different and fun enough to stand out and they homestly did as that,their breaking point I Quit match and Summerslam 07 classic are my favourite matches of theirs

Although they were booked in too many matches together, I always thought they had very good chemistry in the ring. Way more than either of them had with Triple H who both also wrestled far too much. Besides the three you mentioned, the TLC match is decent as well, and that Royal Rumble one the crowd hijacked has great comedic value thanks to Orton lol

It's amazing how Cena's reputation has changed over the last 5 years. John hasn't damaged someone else's push in a very long time. Some people still hate him out of reflex but I think that the majority of fans have learned to respect the guy. He has spent at least the last 5 years putting over young wrestler's.

I would in last 8-9 years he left the main event scene after 2014 and around 2016-17 he started losing quite often to put over great talents

How is this list not an hour? I feel like they had 80 matches with one another.

The iron man match (literally the last main roster60 min iron man match since 09) is very underrated. Orton countering the AA into an RKO is immaculate.

Jesus, I didn't realize how exhausting of a feud this was.

The reason this feud struggled was Cena was always face and Orton was always Heel so there wasn’t anything different it there rivalry like most other rivalry people swap sides to keep it fresh and different

Not just them in particular but every feud that involved Cena was the same way in that like you said most other rivalries u usually get to see role reversals whereas with Cena you never got to see what a Heel Cena VS Face CM Punk, Face Triple H, Face Seth Rollins,Face Randy Orton matchup would look like

u either saw Cena in ultimate good guy persona against the guy being a bad guy or u saw him and them going against each as faces like him and Punk,Or him and Triple H, and him and Rollins, like he's had too many Babyface VS Babyface matches because they for whatever reason was reluctant to have him fresh his persona

No telling how many house show matches they had together. They probably had the exact same match so many times it's no wonder the in-ring chemistry was so stagnant in most of the televised matches.

Amazing that: 1. They have no Wrestlemania single matches 2. There best matches are on two of the most random PPVs ever😂

Only 21 televised 1 on 1 matches? It certainly felt like a lot more than that. Most of the matches weren't terrible, but they weren't good enough to do so many times.

What this guy failed to mention was that their Unforgiven match was just a set up for their Last Man Standing match for No Mercy which ended up not happening because Cena got injured.

Cena and Orton at Summerslam 2007 will always be my favorite Cenas reign that year was great and I honestly didn’t know if he would retain. I loved Cenas year long reign in 07 in my childhood of wrestling

as a kid who group up in the pg era of WWE, the I Quit match at Breaking Point 2009 is my favourite match i've ever seen

Summerslam 2007 was their best match in my opinion, It had that big match feel . Didn’t feel like either was a face or a heel….Didn’t have a story behind it either. It felt like 2 superstars at the top of their game Competing to be the Best

This retirement tour should include one last match against Punk, one match against Logan & one more match against Randy which should be his last match forever

Only thing I can remember from the summerslam 07 match was after Cena won he went out to the front row and grabbed some guys "If Cena wins we riot" sign... they did not infact riot that night.

That Cena vs Orton 60-minute Iron Man match was an "Anything Goes" match as well, a sort of No Holds Barred Iron Man match, along with the stipulation that if John Cena lost the Iron Man match against Orton, he would be gone from Monday Night Raw for good, which reminds me of the ladder match between Edge & Matt Hardy on Raw in September 2005 for Edge's Money In The Bank briefcase. If Matt Hardy won the match, he would've been the new Mr Money In The Bank, but if Matt Hardy lost, he would be forced to leave Monday Night Raw.

When they announced cena vs orton for tlc I was oozing resentment Daniel Bryan was right there and the higher ups metaphorically gave us the middle finger like you can visually see Vince flipping us off

Tbf, it was fitting that Cena and Orton were the ones to unify those titles, with the amount of times they'd held both.

Both my favourite Cena and Orton matches are the one they had at Breaking Point 2009 in a No DQ Submission match and the other own is the one that should've Main evented HIAC 2014 imo which was their HIAC 2014 match. Both are bangers and to me their best encounters with each other. An underrated one imo is the Triple Threat Mania match they had with Triple H at Mania 24. And another underappreciated classic is John and Randy's TLC 2013 ppv encounter in a TLC match for the WWE World Heavyweight Championship in the main event. Also I love the part of Cena and Orton stealing each others moves at the 2014 Royal Rumble.

And Cena VS Orton at WrestleMania 41 will be the most bittersweet match of all time.. one last fight..

Somehow I knew Orton/Cena from SummerSlam '09 would be dead last.

Randy Orton delivered the dreadful punt kick to REGAIN, capture or WIN the WWE championship. That was Randy Orton's second ever hell in a cell match in WWE(almost 4 years after his first hell in a cell match at the Smackdown exclusive pay-per-view Armageddon 2005), while it was John Cena's first ever hell in a cell match.

Cena and Orton are like Stone Cold and undertaker, in that they were both huge at the same time but had just no in-ring chemistry

And Cena's 2nd to last match is for the vacant world title vs WWE champion Orton. Winner becomes 17x champion. Orton would be double champ. Cena wins & drops it to his final opponent in his retirement match, probably Bron.

The worst match between John Cena and Randy Orton Royal rumble 2014 25 minutes of those two just dicking around after putting on a fantastic match the previous month at TLC 2013

Cena’s final match should be against Orton, and it should’ve been for the 17th world title. Ric Flair should’ve been the ref or sitting at ringside or something. Story wrote itself.

Well I'm happy I was in the crowd for there best match! I was just 12 at the time and I was going crazy for the whole match. If you watch back the match you see me going nuts in the crowd for Cena's entrance wearing a DX shirt by the baricade, I think my voice was gone for a week after that. 😂

Here can someone explain the whole heel wrestler having their legs on the rope being illegal. Like in Kayfabe or whatever, surely having your feet UNDER a rope would give you more leverage and making it harder to kick out of. But it's mostly on top of the ropes you see it. That feels like that would be illegal also as the ropes signifies out of bounds (as far as pins go) but I figure it's real hard to place the foot under the rope while pinning someone

Christian's loss still irritates me, since it shows just how little WWE cared for him in the long run, when everyone else in the match picked up a win over Orton. Mnd you, all of Christian's losses to Orton do that for me. Orton should have won all of his matches in some fashion, since he was the Champion heading in. Or the folks in charge could have forgone the idea altogether.

This rivalry was how I got so sick of these two in my teenage years. Even as Cena enters his final year… I have no desire to see these guys wrestle one last time

Idc what anyone says, I LOVED this rivalry! That "I Quit" match was amazing! I also loved the table match where Randy turned the AA into an RKO into a table which was a great spot!!
