I was a travel agent then and this stupid video missed the main reason the Trump Shuttle failed. He rebranded it as a luxury airline, expensive interiors and higher prices. Airline customers shop on cost, I sold hundreds of Pan Am Shuttle tickets and maybe one or two Trump Air. It was a joke.

Eastern was one of my favorites to travel growing up used it a lot between the UK , the US and the Caribbean , they had great things for children , those were the days when flying was the best . It is now used for charter purposes

Elegant? Really? That is probably one of the last words that could be used to describe the 80's fashion! I think the proper terms you could use to describe girls fashion of that yester-year is probably best described as loud, crassy, frumpy (ill-fitting) or just confusing. None the less, pretty much they dressed sorta like the same as they do today. Just a bit opposite, ie: instead of the 80's oversized and frumpy. Todays style is all extra tight and too damn short. I wonder though if you meant the girls back in the 80's seemed more classy? Because that I would agree with you more on.

It ended up that Eastern Airlines started the air shuttle between Washington National -New York LaGuardia and Boston Logan and back.Every hour on the hour somewhere around 1970 . Then when Pan-Am first got domestic flights they started doing the same thing on the half-hour. By the late 1970s BOTH airlines were making money on the shuttle but losing so much money on other aspects that the Northeast Shuttle was not able to save it. In the end, they both folded. He remains to this day the ONLY man to lose money on the Northeast Shuttle

OMG! My first airline job was at Eastern in 1985, then I went onto USAir, I remember we had to take the USAir shuttle to BOS to reposition. Those were the days …

How companies went bankrupt because Trump refused to pay them? How many times did his own employees sue him to get paid? How about the people in Scotland who got there water turned off by him because they lived too close to his new golf course and he didn't want there crappy homes seen by his priveledged guest. Besides I don't think it was trump that paid it but some executive that figured the company was going under and share the wealth.

As a former USAir employee, I was ready to nitpick this video to pieces...but even though it only touched the surface, it was actually accurate. Thank you! Not just the shuttle, but the valuable landing slots in Washington and New York. And the aircraft, routes, and shiny new LaGuardia terminal we aqquired from Eastern for pennies on the dollar really saved our bacon for a long time...until our "management" mismanaged us into not one, but two bankruptcies. Come to think of it, the Trump and Eastern deals were the only smart move they ever made.

It was so strong, powerful and great it was too heavy to fly.
