lunamaria was such aside piece of a character from destiny that she never really got any development at all. Despite being really popular and talented and well liked in all the universe manuals. You can't really see her without shin-its almost like her character was created because of the relationship her VA shares with Shins in real life

She got enough as a side character. This is a shounen and even with 24 episodes its still tight telling a war story with 3 main characters. Friggin Athrun had more development than Shin at the end. It was confusing watch the main character switch as he pulled an Anakin.

I wouldn't be surprised if Durandal considered putting her on the boat instead of Luna but Rey advised against it, since, due to having personal expirience, he knew Agnes would be a loose screw in the machine and that Luna would do better as part of the squad. Heck, Agnes was even less military material than Shinn. Minerva Corps was supposed to be an elite top unit, and it couldn't function well if its members were in a state of constant discord.

He's definitely strong - we saw him take out Sai pretty easily. I think most people just ended up voting thinking that Kira would go easy on them like he did on Shinn and not go for the kill etc. I was expecting the vote to be split a lot more too

I never hated Rey. His death was 2. greatest injustice in Gundam franchise (Shinns disgrace was the 1.). Rey was just like everyone else at Messiah, doing what he thought was right. He should've lived. They should've brought him back. I mean, he finnaly makes HIS own decision and then just dies without trying to live HIS life, for however long it lasts. Lousy writting🤮🤮🤮🤮🤮. 😭😭😭😭 Shinn shouldn't have added his best friend to his list of people he lost. He should've lived. Someone even made a fanart of what could've been with Compass if Rey were alive. It is beautiful. Go check it. 😭😭😭😭😭 He deserved better. He deserves to be brought back, as a living charachter, memory, spirit or a hallucination (but that 1. thing most preferably).

The writing. They should've got Morosawa replaced but I doubt Fukuda would agree to that. I like the idea of ZAFT focused story but, dammit they've wasted it.

Avoiding chicks with a hair color even remotely close to Pink, Red or anything inbetween is paramount to avoiding drama *AND* death in the SEED universe.

That would've been a total mess- shin may have not been the alpha of the Minerva pliots that he sorta fell into for being such an ace during his Minerva missions. Funny how now, everyone loves shin for the massive redemption Ark he got in GSF Great job translating and explaining this manual BTW- I believe there was one more "pre movie manual"

I gotta admit, my favorite SEED character is Athrun, but somehow I can relate to Shinn. He's got good character development in the story despite being childish and rash in Seed Destiny.

​@@KingfAce-qb9xk you can consider it berserk but it's more so of determined resolution when you see from a different pov. Basically maximum focus and determination single minded only on a single thing. But berserker can be considered as well because its the easiest way to achieve Seed mode. After all, say your family is being beat up and killed by this guy, out of desperation and determination, you rush to stop him, thus achieving Seed mode To activate via other objectives are way harder, hence Kira in Seed Destiny can easily activate, because he was very resolute in his ideals to stop war But he didn't Seed mode much in Seed Freedom because he was hesitating throughout

I love this movie, because I found that Athrun and Cagali seems to have a relationship again. Wohoooo

People thinking they can beat Kira in a fight on the assumption he won't fight back.... Did they all just forget what he did to Sai in Season 1? Or even forget what he is? lol

That's true too lol - that was definitely peak murder Kira though you have to remember - Flay was manipulating our poor boy into gunning people down left and right. Further and further down the line we see that change. I think Kira would definitely fight back - I just think he might take it a little bit easier on us than Athrun and Shinn

Kind of funny that in the original drama CD it stated that Shinn had surpass Rey and Luna in a exam when they had to redo it. I mean Shinn is a red coat so this story might just be when they started out like first year cadets and maybe after first year Agnes went to another class while Shinn, Luna and Rey were still in the same class together.

Leonard isn't on screen much - they gloss over it. But if you remember there was a scene of one of Foundation members cutting down the Strike Freedom when we first meet them. Leonard stole it and they put a stop to him, ultimately putting them in the good graces of Compass.

Wait, im confused. What's this claim on all the forums I read about a stolen Strike Freedom? If any at all? If someone doesn't mind explaining, i'd appreciate it. I keep reading around that supposedly Foundation got their hands on the Strike Freedom and damaged it in some way?

In the movie, there is a throwaway scene (3 seconds max) of the Strike Freedom getting destroyed by one of the Black Knights mobile suits (I can't remember which). Also, Shura (Commander of the Black Knights) recognizes Agnes' name in the movie when they first meet. It is explained in the side-novels that Agnes' boyfriend stole the original Strike Freedom and went ballistic, and the Black Knights (probably Shura) killed him for doing so. I believe this is why we get a Strike Freedom Spec II, since the original Strike Freedom didn't get damaged, and why Shura recognizes Agnes since she pulled the strings in order to get her boyfriend to pilot the Strike Freedom.

Spoilers Immortal Justice and Rising Freedom are destroyed for Kira, Athrun and Shin to continue they need mobile suits Cagali and Athrun actually hidden the Strike Freedom, Infinite Justice and Destiny and had them put away and the original crew who worked on Strike Freedom and original Strike upgraded them (so technically they were stolen but also not stolen?) Typo by @calvinfermin6598 it was Rising Freedom being destroyed not the Strike Freedom (Strike Freedom was simply retired for a new model) AFAIK Rising Freedom and Immortal Justice aren't nuclear like Strike Freedom and Infinite Justice

to be honest, I have never watched Seed or Destiny before. When I saw Agnes in the movie, I know that I will love this character.

Agnes and Leonard is the one behind the traitor. Because what I know is both got involved in a Freedom robbery case and they got a dark relationship with Foundation. And what I know is the foundation has a member of Kira's clone and for sure their goals is surpassing Natural and Coordinator and also following Destiny Plan. So that's why I hate this girl since the movie explained.

So, Flay if she's a Coordinator but way more bitter and a mobile suit pilot? Reminds me of the original of Flay being the Rouge's pilot although for EA's propaganda purposes. Tbh I don't think character writing is Gundam SEED's strongest department but kinda wish it was. This is just my opinion on the series btw and SEED is my first Gundam. It is seems that Gundam couldn't shake that one annoying female character off just like in most shonen anime media (I think Gundam covers both shonen and seinen but mecha seems to lean on shonen most of the time). It's as if as the writers deliberately does that, and the trope seems to trigger those who live in Atlantic Federation aka the West. I guess there's not enough Quesses to piss people off lol.

Well from a writing standpoint I'm pretty sure that is the goal for Agnes. She's a hate-able semi antagonist that we get to root for Shinn to overcome. She's definitely insufferable - but it directly contributes to Shinns character arc.

Hmm how did I miss this in “GSD”? Still it’ll be a while before we see clips on Agnes.

just watched it- slight spoilers but it's just speculation on my part I think Leonard was either just a saboteur and spy for Foundation (and the info he got may have helped the Knights hack Kira's brain when he's in the Freedom Rising). OR he is Shura undercover because Shura also does a bit of spying/hacking/sabotage shit. Also Agnes seemed to *really* comfortably fall into Shura's arms immediately after she got rejected by Kira

I'm glad that they entrusted Shinn the immortal justice Gundam rather than give it to Agnes

Spoilers Didn't Agnes Giebenrath betray Compass in the movie Gundam Seed Freedom for the Kingdom of Foundation (I saw few leaks but not the details)? I know that Kira and Lacus do end up together this movie creating kinda a Hibiki royal family that rules over both Earth and Plants. Ps. I still think that Flay Allster fans will say that she is the best girl in Gundam Seed franchise.

I like the idea of Freedom/Kira as a villain. Too bad there's no way of writing a decent story around that isn't bullshit.

Before watching SEED FREEDOM, I thought she was a Quess which doesnt contribute anything to story After watching SEED Freedom, honestly Agnes actually written better than Quess, she was really a lost cause. But as a character she serves her purpose making Lunamaria said she really loves Shinn At least to us, the fan for 20 years. That is really a big win. Agnes word to Luna "I'm not like you, that settles with someone without trying... I will find good man" (not word by word but similar to that) and "That monkey? You seriously love that monkey boy?!" Is the voice of question why Luna ended up with Shinn from story point of view It's cringy but we like it lol

She's basically the Regina George of Gundam

Shin has always suffered from a lack of focus on what matters most. All of his trauma leaves him very raw to his natural faults. It is why Athurn was never quite able to connect to Shin because Athurn was always a lot better at dealing with his own emotions, but Athurn always suffered because he was always indecisive outside of combat. So, Shin saw Athurn as someone to look up to but not someone who he could trust or guide him which Shin really needed given how lost he was.

Tbh, wish he was that more than half of the time in Destiny.

At about 3:40 >Shinn was the lowest of the low. Honestly? That tracks even as of the latter half of Destiny. The man legit required so many Silhouette Packs just to really get ONE hit in on the Freedom. And that was with Kira trying NOT to kill the man. Team Creuset from SEED - yes even Nicol - had better performance vs Kira than that. And once he was in the Destiny, he only held his own thanks to either being alongside Rey to cover him, numerical superiority, or the fact that Kira and Athrun STILL didn't want to kill him. He legit jobbed EVEN HARDER effectively. Oh sure he improved but let's be honest, nobody really gave their all versus him and once they did he went down faster than Nicol.

You make some good points but he definitely was able to accomplish a lot too, Heavens Base etc. But I will say it always irritated me how everyone praised him for sinking all those Orb boats. Literally sitting ducks how did the Minerva not just kill all of them or even Luna

@@GundamHQ Lunamaria missing a ship I remember is a scene I looked SO hard for that's reached meme status, but couldn't find (admittably I couldn't stomach the last 2-3 episodes of Destiny and stopped). Like, these idiots are Red Suits, which are supposed to be elites. How the hell did they get ANYWHERE in Zaft with these skills? Also as a counterpoint about Shinn's successes: Shinn's more like 0079 Amuro before he got gud, but with his Newtype Hax and packing effectively a (Moon Gundam) Modified Rick Dijeh in the middle of Zeta (in terms of most suit specs). He's packing a suit SEVERELY outperforming the competition he accomplished against, with his Newtype abilities making up for his absolutely horrendous skills. If he couldn't accomplish anything with that I'd be shocked. Did... did Shinn even get a named major character kill now that I think about it in the entirety of Destiny? Excluding his Pity Victory over Kira. Edit: I will admit I am harsh on Shinn. But trust me, I am constantly pointing out Kira probably should be MORE dead by this point considering he has legitimate plot armor saving him from death outright thrice, and that most of his successes post-Strike Gundam are due to mystical hyper-ZERO System Aimbot bullshit his Gundams have that makes the literal time-traveling Newtype abilities of UC look like childsplay. I just don't like how Fukuda wrote SEED and it feels like the man has no sense on how to write Real Robots.

Can you explain what the seed destiny series reintroduced upgraded forms of some Og mobile suits from the universal century arc while not making an effort to make a brand new line of mobile suits? Besides the new gundams, it like they put new skins on old mobile suits. That being said, their new forms are way better than the original, more powerful and practical. Take the old and new gyan suit, the new very much better for actual combat, and the flair was rather practical, than grandstanding. The old one was like a puffy set of armor, how it bulges out at the wrist and ankles, and only have 2 weapons. The epyon gundam, that’s another story.

Rey as a character deserved way better than he got in the last 30% of GSD.

The first seed was excellent. and this movie shows who shin really is- a goofy. And sometimes braindead but loveable and loyal young brother

Take it as a grain of salt if you want a catch up probably watch a quick summary of Season 1 and 2, Agnes is so minor in the movie it isn't really worth mentioning

Too bad Agnes was not thought of as a clone of Flay. That would have helped a lot.
