Oh yeah Grievous calls them Padawans rather than Younglings for some reason, probably because the comic writer was not aware of that term and its full meaning, although future reference books and stories referred to these same younglings as such. So you can kind of make sense of it from an in-unverse standpoint that Grievous was not aware of the difference between Padawans and younglings, and just called every young Jedi a padawan lol.

An interesting thing I noticed: You said Grievous told the younglings their lives would be _quite_ different from what the Jedi Order had in mind, but he actually said their lives would be _little_ different. The reason I think this matters is that Grievous is making the point while he was going to make the younglings into little versions of himself to fight for a meaningless cause, the Jedi order would have done the exact same just with different methods and under a different banner.

General Grievous is one of my most favorite Star Wars characters. I think it would be cool if they made a movie or at least a series on him.

It was never going to happen, but I wanted Grievous’ cybernetics plan to actually work. On one of them at the very least.

1. They would look something like Grievous. Maybe cosmetic or size changes but overall the same body plan. 2. They should be able to, as Anakin was still able to after losing a lot of his body. Though I would imagine the connection to the force would be weakened or damaged.

1:45 - I don't believe that Grievous is mocking them; I think that what he's trying to do here is convince the younglings that their future will be little different than that of the Jedi - that they will be warriors all the same.

@@klidthelid8361 what's weird about canon greivous is that in the comics he's actually pretty damn strong. for example: in the new cannon comics he was able to defeat ventress and several magnagaurds at once. he was also shown to be the ruthless jedi killer we all know him as. but the clone wars depicts him as a mustache twirling villian. it's an extremly odd contrast

He might have seen making them his warriors rather than killing them as a mercy. He was a Kaleesh warrior who hated fighting alongside droids instead of real warriors.

C’mon, I think Grievous very deep down in his heart couldn’t bring himself to kill children (at least, not personally, and knowing their faces). Anakin/Vader on the other hand...

This was back when Grievous was still an actual legend

Honestly I consider the smaller things grievous did in legends canon, not the huge game changing things, but small things like this.

I always felt General Grievous was more like Coran Horn a Force user. And felt he used it during battles , but lacked the abilities to push or pull upon objects around him. Merely affecting the outcome ahead of time by a slight margin giving him an edge.

Honestly I just wanted it to turn into one of those filler arcs where Grievous just wanted to be a dad and used the experiments as an excuse to keep the younglings. I would have loved if it just took a completely different direction from the usual and followed Greivous’ life as a single father who has to balance home life with leading a droid army in the middle of a galaxy wide conflict.

Especially since unlike him they would be force-sensitive. Not that much after the process was over but still moreso than Grievous.

This story is actually downright tragic and dark, concidering this only delayed their fate for Order 66. At least they didn't suffer Grevious' experiments.

Can we just mention that previous in a ways was nice to the jedi young by letting her fight him by her wishes than not killing her

@@Raving_Rando But arguably, it *made* the clones and Anakin. It's complicated, the series gave a whole lot of quality content that really positively expanded the Star Wars universe... But it also made Grievous shitty and uninteresting. I'd say net positive, overall, but not without flaws.

@@archsteel7 was never one-dimensional. He is a heroic and slaughters Jedi for killing his people. That's not one-dimensional to me and facts.

What we should also take from this scene is how traumatized the Younglings will be after Grevious ordered the bombardment. Mostly because Jedi, or Force sensitives, can feel the deaths of others through tremors in the Force. I cannot imagine the Girl's pain knowing that she might have caused it in some way with her escape attempt. But not likely. She was a strong one. She was instantly my favorite character in the comic next to the General. Mostly because she was a true Jedi in my book. It's just a shame she didn't get a chance to grow up after Order 66...

Not knowing much about star wars, I really enjoy watching videos like these because they cover background stories/events/lore. General Grievous is such an interesting character. Great video by the way :)

Probably not because the new season has only 13 new episodes and they will most likey be about Mandalore, Ahsoka, Maul and some new Charakters. So sadly the canses are low that we will see him. (Sorry for my bad English)

I have a feeling he will still be in the new season to some degree, just not the main focus. And considering how he became more menacing as the series progressed, he will probably be pretty badass when he does make an appearance.

Grievous was more willing to integrate than to out right kill them, if according to legends it looks like the memory wipe and identity implant hasn't completely worked, but still locked from acting out in his own volition. Seriously wonder what a liberated grievous would do differently.

So if he had succeeded in his plans there could of been multiple force sensitive grievouses going around. That would be extremely terrifying

Damn, I would've been fascinated to see the result of his experiment.

I remembered this was the first comic where Grievous was shown to use some force powers in combat, hinting the rumor that he had a blood transfusion from the body of Sifo-Dyas, a procedure that Count Dooku ordered.

thinking of Grievous just wanting some lifeforms keeping close to him, and resembling him, makes me sad.

Grievous: Rain fire! Droid: But sir, the Ugnaught's Grievous: Just do it!

I remember when this comic came out. Grievous sent shivers down my spine when I read this, and this video brought those shivers back.

In legends, Lumiya made a point to tell Jacen Solo(?) that the ability to manipulate the Force relied upon organic matter. If an individual were to have a significant portion of their body replaced by cybernetics or prosthesis, their powers would wane drastically (or, as drastically as allowed by the laws of Legends!EU, where Palpatine was the equivalent of Frieza and Luke could at times equal Goku). In particular, Lumiya could use Force Meditation, but she could not single-handedly influence battles the way Yoda or Palpatine could.
