My favourite is Vuffi Raa.

The only droid that I think would be any use to me could only be HK47, and that's because he is absolutely hilarious when he speaks his mind. I appreciate that high degree of sarcasm that he uses.

Additionally, he is programmed with a plethora of languages and I'm pretty sure he could easily learn every language Earth has to offer making him an extremely proficient translator in addition to security, protection and hours on end of entertainment.

An assassin droid disguised as a protocol droid with some of the programming of both is genius, not just for the main reason of disguising the drone but also using the social intelligence to assassinate/torture. That's a scary idea.

If I were to have some Droid buddies around, I'd likely have a mixture of classes. A Class 1 to help monitor my weight and diet, paired with a Class 3 to cook the food. A Class 2 (Likely R2 or R6) to help me travel about. A Class 3 (likely an R3 modified with a vocabulator) to aid in business matters. A Class 4 or two for security if I ever had to go somewhere dangerous. A Class 5 with repulsor-life tech to help keep the house clean. And whatever BD-1 is classified as, because I love the BD-series.

i love it when Chewy scares the mouse droid, making it turn yellow and makes it flee

4th class droid are my favorite. The Mandalorian Basilisk War Droid is a favorite for just how awesome it is. The MSE-6s are also a favorite of mine because of how adorable they are.

I like R3 astromech droids. I even have one from Disneyland that I built.

IG88 is my favorite droid from StarWars. He hated all life and uploaded himself up onto the second Death Star (right before it blew) in order to wipe it all out. I wouldn't want to meet him, though. If I owned a droid, I'd like a high-end custom medical droid.

I like the Viper probe droids, like the one that found the rebel base on Hoth. I have one of those, nicknamed "Probius", play a major role in one of my SW fanfics. He finds a large asteroid and helps in a mission to send it hurtling towards the planet Honoghr, wiping out the majority of the aliens responsible for his master's murder.

the droid seen in ahsoka in her crew is technicly a class 3 but it could also be class 4 and potentially even class 2. i imagine most shipyards would be using more class 1-2 and 5 while the class 3 would be mostly in the offices or managing construction quota's medical fields could probily use class 5 for stuff like patient transportation (beds and such) red light districts could probily use both class 3 and glass 5 droids for "work" and class 4 for protecting the "merchandise" in the end i imagine every field had various uses for most droid classes only class 4 i imagine would have trouble finding work in some industries

The KX series in Rogue One seemed much smarter than C3-PO. I know he was reprogrammed but ...

I think R2-D2 and Chopper both would be wonderful to have around and them working at a team... That would be awesome and scary at the same time as they both have been known to get into a bit of trouble on there own, so them together would keep life very interesting...

While I agree with the categories that you've come up with, I'm pretty sure that the only reason there isn't a prostitute class (a-la Bladerunner or I, Robot) is because the series needed to be wholesome. Technology progresses for two reasons: either we want to kill everyone else or we're horny. Anything else is a side benefit.

My favorite version of the IT-O Interrogator would have to be Dr. Ball from Robot Chicken

They got another class of droids called "Character Droids" that are used in movies to play bit parts, and background characters.

My favorite Droid is HK-47. His dialog is hilarious.

I really like the BD series explorer droids, I think that one would be an excellent companion for a whole host of activities. But I would also like an AZ medical droid out of pure utility and versatility. For a custom droid I’d kitbash a AZ medical droid and BX commando droid, and get a personable killing machine to be your partner.

My favorite droid will always be HK47. He was the homie to have.

Arguably, R2D2 and C-3P0 are actually the main characters… today with embodied AI, the world of droids is about to truly start. I am very curious if affectionately people will call them “droids” and not bots… or at least interchangeably the terms used.

I think a Type 3 droid converted for practical household management (cleaning/cooking) would probably be the one for everyday use... basically a Fallout General Atomics Mr. Handy but without the massive environmental impact...

I'm not sure I understand this hierarchy, if it's even such a thing. Why are mechanical droids higher up that social droids? Aren't social skills much more subtle and human-like than maintenance and pilot assistance? Some Second Class droids look _really_ crude, barely above the Fifth Class ones. A roomba with a foam gun attached that rolls towards damaged area of a ship as as soon as the sensors detect a hole or decompression in the hull are higher up than a diplomat?
