its impossible, I like to floor my c63s (estate) for the sound but every time I do that I might loose my driving license.
That little bit of plastic on the rear wheel arch that deletes itself in car washes isn't an "aero addition", it's purely stuck on to appease the German regs that say a tyre can't stick out beyond the bodywork.

Great video. I worked at mercedes when the first models were being launched as well as the facelift, the pre facelift is absolutely the way to go. Gearbox and dash being the main reasons (new digital dashes are so emotionless). Such a great car but for not *much* more than the 120k models you could be looking at an early model AMG GT or GTS with the drivetrain!

@@phillipleeds296 My friend bought one, heavily depreciated of course, and loved it ( for about six months) until the everything and I mean everything electrical failed in spectacular fashion. So owning one is like marrying a trice divorced former high fashion model: it looks good from far, but it's far from good...and expensive to upkeep.
I own a 2017, I have had to replace one turbo, timing belt, sunroof, coolant line, and infotainment system (although I think the issue was due to some other electronic issue). Trunk open button inside the car did break. (Not covered under warranty) All of the repairs were under warranty so that was the only good part. Overall still an amazing car, would still by another after 5 years of ownership.

Thanks for the great video! I have a 2015 W205 C63S wagon with little over 100k now driven. No issues, except for the outside ambient lighting. The problem is probably caused by water that gets through some seals when washing the car in the winter, so avoid pressure washing the mirrors and door handles. The car does heat up quite quickly, so I could imagine that you might run into problems in hotter climates and on track. I live in Finland, so over heating isn't an issue. The car is too heavy for track use. I love it as a daily driver, especially in the winter. Dial down the traction controls and the drive to the office can be quite exciting, even while keeping within the speed limits. Not planning to sell the car and don't really care how much it may cost to fix things later on.

Do they salt the roads in winter, in Finland (obviously a large country) how long would a cars life cycle be given the elements? Do you Finnish consider cars to be disposable items?
@siikonen
12 күн бұрын
@@peterlattimore6013 They salt the roads. I try to wash the car often and keep it well protected. I'm also hoping that since the car has a lot of aluminum parts and panels, that it will survive the conditions. The average age of cars is about 13 years, and cars are crazy expensive here due to the taxes. I think my car would have been 180k€ when new. I imported my car used from Germany, so I didn't pay quite as much. In general, the Finns try to take care of their cars, but also there is a lot of car leasing and I guess those cars are not treated as well.

I always wanted an Audi S5 coupe (your video on one helped a lot), luckily I got a 2018 C43 coupe for the same price (usually 3-5k more expensive) here in south Austria. Next review idea please do Ford probe. what to look out for. Thanks mate
As I've said on previous Merc vids the 9 speed 725 transmissions are generally expensive to service. And we'd seen quite a few owners dump these cars at the 3 year mark because the 3 year A service on these is generally eye-wateringly expensive - spark plugs, rear diff oil and the first trans fluid change, generally budget for about $3k from a dealer, slightly less obviously when using an independent.
You should do a video on the SV6
i know these are amazing but still prefer the older w204 for that brutal 6.2 NA engine!
