And, did she? Well, it’s Gabby Thomas that we’re talking about, so what do you think? Even when faced against the current 100-meter champion, Sha'carri Richardson, and rising 200-meter sprint star Abby Steiner, Gabby held her own. But, what does this mean? You’ll find out in a bit!
Long before the 200-meter top three finishers were determined, all eyes were on Abby, Gabby, and Sha'Carri. This does not come as a surprise given that these three had been making waves in the track and field space for the last several years.
And, with only a handful of days left until the Paris Olympics, top track and field contenders around the world are being named for an exciting showdown. A very recent development, though, made for a huge twist for the queens of the sport: the fastest woman alive, Elaine Thompson-Herah, won’t be vying for her third consecutive round of Olympic gold.

Sha'Carri is not a 200 meter runner, but she will be. She's learning how to run it. Gabby should dominate this event. She been running it for awhile. In that heat, Sha'Carri pulled up.

But everyone was expecting a showdown between Gabby and Shacari in the 200, so obviously she’s a 200m specialist as well. She just came up short this time.

You can't have a perfect race every time anything can throw you off sleep diet weather. Shi carri Richardson is definitely the most amazing runner I have ever seen❤

Gabby Thomas did what she's supposed to do in the category she specializes in....DUH! Sha'Carri is the 100 meter runner, Gabby is the 200 meter runner. Sha'Carri is experimenting with the 200 meter race.

Why do you think that the U.S female 200m sprinters now have a better chance to break the "12 year curse" of losing to the Jamaicans on this distance? Because Elaine Thompson-Herah is out of the picture for now? This sounds a bit ignorant. Are you simply not aware of the best female Jamaican 200m sprinter: Sherica Jackson, who is the second fastest ever after Flo-Jo? With a personal and Jamaican record of 21.41? Elaine's PB is 21.53, or 21.54, and she wasn't the favourite anyway, even if she had been without injury and in top shape. Shericka has run under 21.50 three times. Barring injury she would in all circumstances be considered the best 200m runner. I simply don't understand what you are talking about, at least - in order to be taken seriously as a track commentator you should have mentioned Shericka Jackson. And, by the way: the name of the current 100m world😊😊😊 champion is Sha'carri Richardson, not 'Shaker' as you call her, or maybe this misspelling is to be blamed on some dumb computer.
Sha’Carri eased up on that race. She ran a faster time in prelims. I believe she could have placed in top three if she really wanted to. She gave her fellow teammates a chance to go to Paris.
Great race. Its hard to beat somwone whose competing inspired by a dead relative.

Unfortunately Gabby spanked sa Cari hard she showed her who was boss in the 200m I am USA girl so it was sad to see but Sa Cari will dominate the 100m
