WHAT EVERYONE IS WEARING IN NEW YORK | HOW TO MAKE A MASK WORK

Here's episode 12, What everyone is wearing in New York, How to make a mask work. This is an unprecedented time as we all know but I was inspired by how some are putting personal style first despite having to wear a mask. There are a few gems who really show how to make a mask work with their look as well. These episodes have never been about fashion week street style which I wonder is that on it's way out anyway now? This series is a snap shot of how people are showing their personal style, regardless of DIY face masks. It's about understanding how to find your own style and how to dress on a budget and be YOU. See how some show you how to look stylish with basics and how some always look chic and put together, wearing a face mask or not!
Note: I wore a mask at all times.

Karen we’ve done something here with your videos that goes beyond KZread. You’ve hit a social nerve - you were the right person to do it. You have created a forum between vapid fashion and the need for human expression and brought us together. You are making us feel good with the small joys of life, and made self expression an art. So glad to have been following you. Keep up the good. You keep showing us to be ourselves. Adore you!

I know in my city, Toronto, I am thinking about our day to day interaction and how sad it will be if we all see each other as virus carrier. Thank you Karen for sharing this street style with us and for everyone's willingness to stop and take a moment to share their personal style with you.

Most of us who protest are not protesting over haircuts and parties we are protesting over the ability to feed our families and stay in our homes we worked so hard to purchase. It is easy for the wealthy to stay at home but is not so easy for the working class to do that in America

@Tara Lang , It has been found out in America that 66% of those who became infected were those who shelter in place at home. Plus our fearless leaders (being sarcastic) have told MDs that any death should be recorded as a death from covid even if it is a death caused by another disease or comorbidity. Plus the NYT included the name of and individual who died in an auto accident but listed that the death was caused by the virus. I've not killed anyone ;however, my brother did hang himself because he could not see an end to this. But I certainly do enjoy your concern for life and virtue signalling

I am happy you are back Karen 😊 I really missed the Friday episodes of What people are wearing in NY. Yeahhh!!! I live in Canada and work in the health care and when I leave work on evenings and change out of my uniform, I like to dress nice: no sweats. It really lifts my spirit after my work because when I get home I have to go through the routine of taking a shower and putting my clothes in the laundry before being in contact with my family member. Dressing nicely really makes a difference and. Seeing how other people are dressing also give me some aha moments. Love your show. 👍🏽

This video brought such joy and peace. As a NY native I have been broken by the news of the city, but this video shows the enduring heart of humanity and the resilience we are capable of. I myself have decided to try and rock a 😷 mask, I think it will be with us for a while.

I was born and partly raised in Brooklyn, NY. I always appreciate when you do "What everyone is wearing in NY" but this one really touched my heart. One, because you took the time to go out & still allow the people that can't to enjoy the world through your eyes. Two, to continue to love life through individuality and fashion. And three, hearing your enjoyment about fashion always makes me feel like I'm still in NY. Thank you sooooo much Karen.

Thanks for this Karen, I find it uplifting to see people wearing different styles and not just sweatpants etc. I've been trying to wear dresses I've made and it makes me feel more motivated than if I was wearing comfy clothes all the time, despite still staying at home.

Hi Karen once again thank you. It's something about these episodes that is very comforting and is presented with such ease. This is refreshing to me, ☺something to lighten and brighten a day. I love to see the mutual respect that is communicated. Fashion has a Rhythm. .And Karen you are walking to it's beats.

I love the very different and personally expressive styles that draw your eye. A lot of fashion has focused too much on a generic/luxury style, so I love that you can find people wearing worn-in items and things that have stories behind them. Wonderful work as always!

The young lady at the end with the shaved head was stunningly beautiful. She reminded me of Willow Smith, but a more gentle version. Personally, I have worked from home three months now and I have lived and slept in high-end Bleusalt and low-end Costco black leggings and linen black t-shirts or black bamboo hoodie. Black cotton or wool leggings are everything.

If it’s only going to be for a short while why not keep it happy snappy and fun.. lots of love from the U.K 🌈

Thank you so much for continuing to do this. You don’t have to be going anywhere to put your clothes on. I’m wearing my clothes and I really only leave the house to walk the dog. I just enjoy picking something out to wear each morning. I will say that I stopped wearing uncomfortable items, no matter how stylish they are. BUT IT’S SUNDRESS SEASON! Comfort and style all in one!
