Thank you! During labor they checked me too much and I ended up with an infection which also affected my unborn baby.

@@foofur6647 “Knowing” how much a cervix is dilated only serves medical personnel because it tells them whether or not they should start forced pushing. - When they get you on your back and make you push hard with or without contractions. Cervical checks can only be up to 60% accurate and the percentage actually decreases the further through labour we go. Our cervix’s dilate to the size of our own babies heads, not a standard 10cm like they make you believe we are all aiming for. Pushing before the cervix has reached desired dilation is exactly how so many women end up with injured cervix’s or pelvic floor muscles. Forced pushing is entirely unnecessary as we all know because of the foetal ejection reflex but they like to ignore that too. The biological reflex that pushes our babies out does not happen until after transition (when baby makes their way through the birth canal) which comes after full dilation for our babies heads and it can take a while for baby to be ready to descend after full dilation.

it serves as a way to keep medical personnel in control and putting a laboring woman on a schedule. I never check my ladies, unless they ask or unless there are contributing factors that lead me to believe that mom or baby are in distress, and even then it’s questionable.

They need to be more compassionate. It’s obviously not a real patient. The women sitting there naked is like “omg it’s just me, just do it.” Every 2 seconds screaming at her “just do it”

Oh god, I've always been so embarrassed about it... please tell me, from a man's perspective, it doesn't feel weird or awkward when you touch it when... you know? Like when I do it I can feel it myself and I know my husband can feel it when he does it too and it's so embarrassing for me!

Some women have a very high set cervix, that coupled with potentially short fingers might mean you could not ever feel it, even if it was at it’s lowest point. Also some women just aren’t that curious. There can be a number of reasons.

@@tianna1116 as a menstrual cup and disc user your fingers need to get the lay of the land to position them correctly….also, you never masturbate? Thats what blows my mind, women aren’t curious about their bodies? We have a much closer relationship with our vaginas bc of our periods and child birth and all other medical issues compared to men and their genitals. So weird to me that women are like, cervix? Huh?
