Hey y'all, Animals can be so interesting. Dexter the bull was watching the tractor with the ring approaching the hay bale. He very quickly ran up to the bale and put himself in-between the bale of hay and the other cows until the ring was in place. Then he started to eat the hay. It was like he wanted to protect them from the ring. Also I appreciate y'all taking the time to tell us the difference in the diet and preferences of the Dexter cows vs another breed. By watching various channels with different breeds it is so fascinating to see the many differences and similarities. Where I might have thought they were all just the same. So thank you for that. I really love y'alls channel. Y'all take care and have a blessed day my friend, by for now

I buy some of those black tubs from the man at the feed store. I use them to grow my veggies in because the raised beds wood has rotten. I have been removing the rotten wood and setting those tubs onto cinder blocks. That way I don't have to do so much bending down. One day I will have enough to finish my garden.

There are some tubs safe for all livestock and some tubs not recommended for certain ones. The label/ingredients will tell you. Several different manufacturers. They work really good in the winter but in the heat of summer they soften some and are consumed quicker. Prices have gone up on them in my area. A 250# tub is around $130 now. Danny, it would save you a little bit of trouble to put several bales in where the cows are. Line them up with a little space between them and run an electric fence around all but one that they are supposed to be eating. When they finish that one move the fence over so they can get to the next one (no tractor needed). You can probably tilt the hay ring up on its side by hand and roll it to the next bale and drop it over that bale. It would take a little investment to set it up but then you'd have what you'd need. A small solar charger and some smart fence from Gallagher would be perfect. I think it's about $230ish now. Just a thought. I like Parmak brand chargers. Their smaller charger is $199. Could go with a battery operated charger cheaper I guess.
