Having no 'Bike Lift' which mean scrabbling about on the ground. A real pain in the old frame....l still change the filter/oil and the Brake pads when necessary. l own a Street Triple 675 so the brakes are not the same as the Bonnie, but generally speaking it's an easy job what ever the bike is. All you need are the correct tools, some brake cleaner, an old tooth brush to clean the pistons a little copper-slip and your time, plus tea of course.... There is a certain satisfaction in DIY...

Interesting choice in the Honda Stateline! I have never ridden any of the bikes with that motor, and have always been curious about them. Honda seemed to try to find a market for several different modern cruiser platforms in the past 20 years. None of them caught on in a big way, which is a shame.

Totally agree Mark 👍 I think Honda were very brave releasing the 1300 Fury over here, not sure how well they sold as I've never actually seen one on the road, personally I've always thought that the Stateline would have been a better/safer bet for the UK market but what do I know! Thanks for the comments buddy 👍

That's a brilliant idea Willy but as you said you may be the messenger of horrible news people would ruin it. The b day thing would be great too. I all but got 40000 on mine , that's why we got the enfield to motorcycle-camp on. My wife's been in remission for 4 years as we built the triumph it was her chariot to hyperbaric therapy. She loves the space on the 2018 black but also loves the enfield as I have taken her for brief spins around the back lane as I prepare for the 300 mile oil change and valve clearance. It's great to hear you're doing well......🎉🎉🎉

Some really nice bikes you mentioned there. But to me they all seem like a side step or down-grade from the bonneville. I'm glad it's working out for you now, since it looks and sounds so good, and you've put effort and money into, and I think it really suits you. I'm planning on painting the cbr400rr I have, since the Valentino Rossi race livery looks a bit tired and has lots of big ugly crazing, plus I have no attachment to Valentino Rossi livery and feel a bit odd about being seen riding it. If all goes as planned I'll send in some pictures/video to your email. It might take a couple of weeks, or even months though. I don't want to rush and end up with a botch job.

From my experience, BMW actually offer the best trade in prices. Here in Melbourne, AUS I was selling my old Thruxton 865 last year as a trade in for a new bike. Most main dealers were offering me $6-6500 AUD for my bike, but BMW offered me $8000 without even looking at it. They claim to have market leading trade in prices which I can say is definitely true. Only issue was they don't just buy bikes outright, only take them as a trade if you're buying a bike from them and there wasn't any bikes they had which I actually wanted unfortunately. Tried to convince myself on a F850gs but it just didn't do it for me. Ended up taking $6500 for my bike at a Kawasaki Dealer as a part exchange for a new Z900rs. It's amazing how much the price differences can be though for the same bike.

What kind of garage are your local dealer if they won't even change rear brake pads? I could understand if for example it was an engine job or one that required special Triumph tools - sheesh 🙄 That proposal service sounds great Willie. Let me know your rates and I'll put it about a bit: 1/ Basic proposal 2/ Extra soppy proposal 3/ Enhanced proposal where you dress up (BayRans and George Clooney get-up) 4/ Weird proposal with suggestive humour and potentially damaging consequences to the relationship
