I'm so glad you had a good result with the booster plug. It's not made with snake oil, but it's understandable how people might think so due to how it works. It really is simple (the operating principle, not the electronics logic). There's no change to the ECU's functionality at all. The booster simply replaces the temperature value detected by the OEM air temperature sensor with a lower temperature derived by artificially adjusting the temperature at the booster's probe per maths based on a gradient across the RPM range. The lower temperature causes the ECU to richen the fuel mixture just enough to ease the difficulty of getting reliable combustion. The adjustment is proprietary information, which doesn't help with people's snake oil conspiracies, but it's allegedly smaller than 2C below actual at max adjust tapering to normal at higher RPM. If you realize that the atmospheric conditions play a huge part in the quality of the result, then it's easy to understand how some people might get a dramatic change while others not so much. That, I think, is a plausible explanation for any ambivalent or contradictory reviews. Sometimes it improves response more when the weather negatively effects combustion, and sometimes the weather is optimal so any benefit is marginal.

I’m glad it worked for you buddy that’s all that matters, I was aware of this issue on older T120 but when I test rode mine last year new 2023 model in rd mode it took off too quickly no snatching but rain mode smooth as hell,😃 good luck with moving that and divorce is a killer so don’t get divorced Willie 😝😀

You’re right it’s one of if not the most stressful things you can do with your spare time 😬😎 Last time I moved it was during covid (when the government put the freeze on stamp duty) and it went right up to the deadline for everyone in the chain to make it before it kicked back in. Didn’t look like we were going to make it (and everyone was having 2nd thoughts in the chain) but we made it just in time. I was so stressed I nearly said bollocks to it all myself. Glad we stayed with it though in the end as the new house is so much better for us and in a much quieter area etc. exactly what we wanted getting out to rural Kent from London. And your pals Sport glide… is the same as my bike / it’s what mine is. You should get yourself into them once the move is all done. And thanks for the support on my channel Willie 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻

Yes these plugs do work. I had similar with my M109 Boulevard and I installed the Healtech plug and it smoothed out. Many of the negatives you hear about it are people who thing it is going to boost the power, however that's not the case, all it does is alter the timing at low revs to stop the bike stuttering and makes it ride smooth. Glad it has all worked out mate, catch you soon.. Oh, these yellow glasses are awesome for riding with, they hide the glare in summer yet at night they lighten everything up. Cheers

There are alot of positive reviews on the booster plug and I do understand how it works but what I don't understand is why it doesn't work on all T120s .... but all I can tell u is that its worked for me! 👍

Told ya it’d work! 👍 I absolutely know that the booster plugs worked on the GS 800 I had a year ago and on the Yamaha WR250R I still have. I can also tell you what IS a placebo effect and that’s wearing yellow glasses at night. They DO NOT make things brighter, unless they are somehow able to defeat the laws of physics.

Mate I can only say how it works for me but the improvement is massive imo 👍

It works told you it would.All it is is a temperature sensor that plugs into ECU giving it a false reading saying it's colder than it actually it is so bike runs richer therefore smoother. Rich is good Lean is bad. I put a 81° Thermostat in my cars so fan comes on 10° earlier than stock 91° thermostat prolonging life of motor & nit running to hot 🥵 especially in summer.

@@2wheeledwillie395 When you think 🤔 about it cooler temperatures equal better running engine like your bike,car runs better in winter when temperature is colder. I think 🤔 people think 🤔 it's a piggyback ECU chip of Ebay that is Snake oil rather than just a truck temperature gauge. If it was Snake oil Hitchcock's,TEC wouldn't use them on their own bikes.You can get Fuel X now which hooks upto fuel lines & ECU which is a tank off job to install & Euro 5 bikes use it as they can't use Booster plug but Fuel X work on Euro 4 too.

All they do is tell the ecu the the bike cooler than it is , and the ecu ups the mixture

AFAIK the booster plug kids the ECU into thinking it is cold and so it slightly richens the mixture. It cures the jerky effect of ultra lean mixture as required by Euro 4 ( or is it 5) However the booster plug may not work on the next level Euro emission regs as the ECUs have been programmed to detect and reject booster plugs. This is why it works on some bikes and not on others. This is what I have heard read or did I just dream it ? Never mind TWW if it works for you then all is good.

Just checked out the TEC website re this booster. TEC state up-front that this is ‘strictly for off-road use’ and that it ‘is not road legal’. Are you invalidating your insurance by fitting one of these?

I've just spoken to my insurance and advised them of the booster plug, they did look into it and apparently because its not a performance mod there was no charge

Still plodding along here, thanks for enquiring mate, trying to figure out how & when I can return to old blighty. I have kept both Royal Enfield 120 anniversary models, G.T. Continental & Interceptor. I am really regretting selling the RE Tribute. Having all three limited edition Royal Enfields was something special, however the deed has been done & I just have to live with that decision. I have purchased a new Harley Ultra Limited, the Limited edition Tobacco Fade. If I can figure out a way, I will send a couple of photos sometime. Hope things come good with your new house soon.
