Hey. What smells like blue? - Philip J Fry
3:01 The chord played was Eb sus 4, NOT Eb major.
Thinking about the days in Japanese, Monday's silver (moon day), Tuesday's red (fire day), Wednesday's blue (water day), Thursday's green (tree day), Friday's yellow (gold day), Saturday's brown (earth/soil day), and Sunday's orange/yellow (sun day).

I have synaesthesia - as do both of my parents coincidentally. My only brother doesn't though. It's all colour based for all three of us when we think of letters, numbers & words. My colours also have textures but my parents' don't. We have silly arguments about what colour each letter/number/word should be which are all entirely arbitrary, being based on our own internal codes. Quite interestingly (heh) we don't see colours in front of our eyes like Stephen describes in this clip, but rather in our mind's eyes. A bit like recalling a memory. For all 3 of us it's almost only ever proven a useful aid to memory and general life experience. I also assumed when young that everyone had it, and feel increasingly lucky as I get older to learn how few do. Thanks genetics 👍

Probably blood red. Unless you are nobility, in which case it would be blue.
I've always associated days of the week with colours, but my assumption has always been because my Mum used to buy the TV Times or similar which always had a colour for each day. I think different brands of TV magazines had different colours which annoyed me as a kid. For me: Monday - blue Tuesday - green (aqua green) Wednesday - orange Thursday - purple Friday - pink Saturday - red Sunday - green (lime) Since I'm fairly sure those were the colours associated in the TV Times etc I assume that's why I connect those colours to those days. For the younger generation these were magazines you'd buy to find out what was on television for the coming week. No idea if they're still around now. I feel old!
Monday: red Tuesday: blue Wednesday: orange Thursday: green Friday: blue Saturday: brownish grey Sunday: yellow
I'm an colourblind electrician. Mondays always look grey.
Monday is blue, Tuesday is sort of pink, Wednesday is grey, Thursday is orange, Friday is white, Satuarday is *most definitely yellow* and Sunday is brown.
i had thought of a similar idea really hard when genuinely considering my favourite colour. i always gave a common answer of blue, but i don't think that it's actually blue, as there are many times where i prefer another colour over blue. i've heard the counter argument that it's the colour you'd prefer "in general", or "on anything", but i truly prefer different colours for different things, and i feel like i'm excluding other colours which i still love when i choose a "favourite", sort of like choosing a favourite child, lol. in the same sense here, i feel that i don't associate any colour with a day of the week until i'm suggested and essentially forced to for social play, and then monday was blue for me just because i had to choose, and maybe there was some subconscious blue as a common choice and monday as a commonly memorable day as being the beginning of the week being will also be blue. i'm sure a lot of this is also influenced by culture as well in the way that pink is not popularly feminine in some cultures.
Monday: green beige Tuesday: red Wednesday: orange Thursday: green Friday: deep blue Saturday: bright yellow Sunday: black
Sunday : silvery Monday:blue Tuesday: white Wednesday: black Thursday: grey Friday: brownish orange Saturday: reddish orange
most of my family including me have synesthesia,l. we enjoy arguing about the coloures of the alphabet lol. the week for me looks like this monday - pinky red tuesday - light green wednesday - royal blue thursday - forest green friday - dark blue or black saturday - sun yellow sunday - darker yellow
Monday is red, Tuesday is green, Wednesday is orange, Thursday is purple, Friday is blue, Saturday and Sunday are yellow,
Tuesday is blue. At least the afternoon is.
Monday: blue, but more of a sky blue Tuesday: either yellow or lime green Wednesday: magenta Thursday: tannish brown or prussian blue Friday: light yellow Saturday: red Sunday: burgundy
3:02 - I wonder how many commenters realized that the keyboardist missed the G natural and played Ab instead? Third chord is an Ebsus4.
"Goodbye Blue Monday". Breakfast of Champions is about the only reason I knee-jerk to a color for Monday. I feel like I could reach for instinctive color/day associations (as opposed to logical ones), but they're distant and vague, if that makes sense. Sound does nothing for me, though with my eyes closed I can sometimes perceive reactive changes in my visual field. That's probably driven more by minute physical responses, but it mirrors/inspires a tendency to imagine abstract shape and motion in response to musical pieces.
Sunday: yellow Monday: green Tuesday: orange Wednesday: white Thursday: brown Friday: light blue Saturday: purple/dark blue
It made me think perhaps we all have this ability and we ignore it, so I allowed myself to perceive color when those notes were olayed and I also got green and grey for those two.
Monday: Red Tuesday: Blue Wednesday: Pink. Or maybe Purple. Thursday: Orange Friday: Green Saturday: Brown Sunday: Yellow
Monday - blue Tuesday - yellow Wednesday- orange Thursday - purple Friday - green Saturday -orange Sunday - red
Children in Thailand learn colours for each day. Mon Yellow Tue pink Wed green Thu orange Fri dark blue Sat purple Sun red But New order for me
Blue is the colour of sadness. Yellow is the colour of happiness. Red is the colour of Anger. Green is the colour of disgust or envy. I thought Monday was blue because its the saddest day and i thought the first sound was yellow because it sounded happy.
Well, quite interestingly the days of the week are connected to the seven ancient planets, which in turn have been associated with colours (as well as trees and sounds): Monday - moon - blue is right as far as I remember. Tuesday - Mars - red, Thursday - Jupiter - orange and Sunday - sun - yellow would be a few others.

Insane that this is a (by the time of writing this) a nearly 20 year old recording. years ago, an old recording was looking like one. Weird colors, bad, hissing sound and a 4:3 aspect ratio. Nowerdays recordings look the same as 20 years ago and you have to know that half of the people in the panel are dead to see that this is a very old episode
Kurt Vonnegut dwelt extensively on "Blue Monday", and invented a fictitious link between a Washing machine manufacturer (motto: "goodbye, blue monday") and a device for releasing bombs at timed intervals, based on the washing machine control module (BLast Interval Normalisation Controller). The common story is that Monday was for some traditional reason wash day, with common detergents being coloured blue. Hence "blue Monday", and Vonnegut's reference to washing machines.

2:30 come on guys, you're supposed to be clever clogs. its just another way of saying higher/lower but with light frequency. dark blue being low, yellow being high / bright. don't read into it more than this. people have made visual systems to help them remember things for yonks. two ducks: 22, legs eleven: 11, etc.
I don't even begin to sense a colour to assign to a day. Whatever it is that you've all got that does that to you - I flat-out don't have it. like, AT ALL. I would completely have to contrive it from start to finish if I did try to do it. like 🤷♂idk, Tuesday is purple... Monday is indigo, and Friday is Spanish violet. 🤔 I seem to be leaning towards the whole week being an array of various purples. O well... How bout I just make Sunday green with yellow polka dots, just to make a joyous offset of juxtaposition. Because that's carnival day!! 🎉hooray!

I am appalled at the idea of Monday being blue. Monday is obviously red and it’s female. Monday is red, Tuesday is green, Wednesday is also red, Thursday is a dark blue, Friday is purple, Saturday is yellow, Sunday is blue.
wednesday's green because w is green

The economy of Britain in the 19th Century found astoundingly lower production and increased absenteeism on Mondays. Because Sunday was the only day off work, people got incredibly drunk and remained hungover until a "Blue Monday."

One thing I have never done is associate days of the week with colours.
The common association of days with colors is NOT synesthesia. Synesthesia in this case would be if you would LITERALLY see the color when someone would mention a day of the week. It's a central nervous system error and can turn patient's life miserable. Imagine tasting a strawberry and literally hearing a sound, or seeing a green color and smelling blood. These are hallucinations triggered by wrong sensory input.
