He can say the long arrhh sound perfectly well. Its the short R he can't say. He can't say ruhh, it sounds like wuhh. Mostly words that start with R.

He's saying "Ah", with the back of the throat, not "R". "R" is produced with a movement of the tongue which he lacks the ability to do because of genetics.

The best panel shows truly are the ones where the panel are pissing themselves with laughter. Or with being electrocuted.

The electricity round had me crying. The pacing was spot on. I need to go lie down.

agreed, though for the sake of any oddball who's inspired to sing after jim's performance: his vibrato is what my old voice prof would call 'church-lady vibrato' in that it comes from the top of the throat/mouth and will cause damage over time (i think that's only if it's done often, but that class was like 8 years ago so i'm not 100% sure)

The intro lines to Sweet Caroline are supposed to be bright and effortless because after that you are going to start belting it out at the chorus. Jimmy's throat was tight and his tone rather flat with very little chest, and it's a good bet that he would have cracked trying to hit the higher notes. And it's just my opinion, his voice is ok but Sweet Caroline is too ambitious for him. Still it's hard to judge his full singing ability on so little evidence.

Jimmy uses that fake laugh to control himself. Once he goes into his normal laugh, he can't stop, and he knows it.
