Thanks for the review! I have run in the Gaviota from 1, 2, 3, 4, and 5. I had problems with the 4's heel wearing out quickly. So I put gorilla tape on the inside heel before it wears out to prevent the issue. The 5 is improved on the front for sure, but the overall frame redesign is impacting my runs. One, I have a morton's neuroma, and it was managed fine with the 1-4 with a metatarsal lift insert, but with the 5 the neuroma is back. The shoe is also wider and it hard to get a snug fit since my feet are narrow. So my foot is moving around too much making my feet sore after runs in addition to the neuroma. FYI today I was able to buy a pair of 4's, so I will be covered for 500 miles (I run 25 a week). I have a pair of the Arahi 5's which I use for non-running. In your opinion does the 7 have more cushion than the 5? If so, I am thinking I can switch the Arahi 7's for my everyday runs since I can get a snug fit while not aggravating the neuroma.. If not, can you please recommend a good stability shoe for someone who has foot issues along with a morton's neuroma.

Great review. Very helpful, I've been waiting for the Arahi 7 and it's a shame that they've just made the upper thicker.

I worked retail and had the arahi 6. After a year they were shot, the seams on the heels were coming apart and there were hole where my pinky toes touched the upper fabric. If I were to get the arahi 7 I think the heels may last longer and perhaps the new upper fabric would be more durable. A bit disappointed they fell apart that fast given the price but then again I was walking 10k-20k steps a day at work along with running forklifts and order selectors. If I were to buy another pair I would try the gaviota 5 as the wider toe box and H frame are appealing especially if it's going to feel softer than the arahi 6. When I went to buy my first pair of hoka shoes I was looking for the Clifton or bondi but the arahi 6 was the only one they had on hand in wide. After the first day wearing them at work my feet were killing me and I had to replace the insoles with memory foam. I eventually added gel heel wedges as the balance felt off. Like my heel was lower than my toes.

I'm a stability guy. I have flat feet so stability is a must. The only objection I have towards the Gaviota and Arahi is the low heal to toe drop. I prefer a 8mm to 10 mm drop. Would the 6mm and 5 mm be a problem for me?

Long time user of the arahi 6 and 2, 4, 5. Bought UK Feb22, waited on the 7 when they flattened and tried alternatives in the meantime. Heel grip was poor for me on the 6 so had to make a workaround. Has the heel fit improved for the 7 with the new material? Mine wore through in a few weeks. Otherwise seems like a tweak to the upper that was previously fine.

The Arahi 6s rather than 7 and I’d like more color options with a black sole you take a new pair out with a white sole and a few outings in the winter they look more like three years old

Bit disappointed in the Arahi 7 update. The upper change wasn't really necessary and looks less breathable only to add more weight. Too bad the Arahi 6 is almost completely sold out online now with recent discounts.

Currently run in the Arahi 6, tried the 7s on today and they felt extremely firm. Much harder than the 6. Is this the case or have I forgotten what the 6s felt like at first?

Sorry to bother but I had a question are the gaviota 5s or the arahi 6s good for someone wanting to use them for a police academy I will need to use them on chain link fence and a solid wall

Hi Ryan, thanks for this review! I am about to run an Ultra Marathon 100 kilometers on the road. I need stable shoes as I over pronate. I hesitate between the Arahi 6 (or 7) and the Gaviota 5. Which model would you recommend to complete such a long distance and keep the feet as good as possible along the way? Valuing your advice 😊

Definitely go with the Arahi 6 over the 7. The Gaviota is much heavier/bulkier but is softer and has more room in the upper so it depends what you want.

Hi Ryan, thanks for your review. I just purchased Arahi 7 (the only Arahi available at Hoka in Jakarta), but would like to buy other stability shoes, like Kayano 30 or Tempus. Since I have a target for marathon this year, which one do you think is more suitable for full marathon among those three shoes? I tried Kayano 30 once and it was so comfortable but I am not sure if it's suitable for FM.

I just switched from the Arahi to the Gaviota. The Arahi wide was still narrow on me and I switched to a regular Gaviota, no pain in feeling squished into the shoe and so cushiony!!!

Which would you suggest the Arahi 6 or Grav 5 for a half marathon? I also get inward pronation too which effects my knees!
